Just popping in to say hope all is well with you Sue. You really have been through it recently, but seem to be coping fantastically. Your positive attitude I'm sure has helped immensley - it's fab to hear you so upbeat when this would wear down the toughest person. Keep up the good work!

Hi to all!

Cla
xx

PS _ Tracii - was it you who mentioned not believing your house is clean enough? I must be top of this list. Every day dp asks me what my plans are and every day it's the same - cleaning! He just rolls his eyes and says surely there can't be an inch that needs doing AGAIN. But it does!!!! Or at least I think it does!!!!! If Hello magazine comes round it may actually be clean enough for a photo shoot!!!!!!!

Happy Monday girls! We are all one week closer to our due dates - YIPPEE! I went shopping Friday at this store that was having a great sale in our area - baby clothes were so, so cheap! They were trying to sell out their summer/spring clothes so I stocked up on some things for next year. I know I should wait until after my shower to buy - but I just couldn't help myself :)

Sue - hang in there and keep up the PMA!

Jessica - they are removing your cerclage at 37 wks? OMG - that means only 9 more weeks to go (possibly). I still can't hardly believe it. I really hope I have mine around 37-38 weeks so I can be home with my little bundle for Christmas.

Kristi - hope you got rested after your shower.

Bella - I totally respect you for going natural and I wish I were that brave. I am not exactly a "wimp" when it comes to pain - but neither is my sister and after watching her go through her labor (with an epidural) I decided I am definitely having one. I agree though - it is a personal decision for everyone. It's great that we all have so many options.

Well I cleaned my whole house yesterday and managed to screw my back up again. Every time i take a step it feels like needles are shooting up both sides of my lower back. I was very careful and took my time making sure not to strain myself - yet the back pain is here anyway. My doctor said it's very common and will most likely stop after the baby is here. Went to a football game Saturday (go buckeyes!) and was on my feet for the whole game - they were swollen up like watermelons by the time I got home! But the victory made it well worth it. I am retaining so much water that my wedding ring doesn't fit anymore. Anyone else having similar symptoms? Anyone know what I can do about the fluid retention? I drink tons of water which is supposed to help with the retention - but I think it only makes me swell up more - lol! Oh well - it's all so worth it - I don't really mind.

Have a great day everyone! :D

Lisa,

Thats right!!! technically 9 weeks left!!! I have also read that if your dr is willing sometimes they can induce you a little earlier so you have your baby before christmas - but it all depends on babys vitals and the size + estimated weight! Its funny when people ask about my due date and I ask if they want the standard answer or the real deal....The standard answer is based on the clock its dec 17th - but the truth is it is anywhere from November 27 - December 17th!!!

I haven't had really any swelling but I am very careful too and as soon as my feet start to hurt or throb, I lay down! Have you asked your doctor how much swelling is too much?? I will say though my wedding ring is a little snug!

Hi everyone - Hope you all are feeling great :).

I just wanted to share a bit of my birth plan with everyone. I do plan on going natural...all personal reasons - and I agree with everyone's sentiments on this - it's not a judgement on those who plan on epidurals - this is a personal choice that must be respected. We do have options nowadays!! I think all of us being on this same path to our babies makes us so much more understanding than other people. I have a feeling that nobody on this board would judge anothers approach.

From the reading I've done - IF you plan on going natural - avoid any inductions. Your body works as it's meant to when you let it. Once interventions occur like pitocin etc - your body and it's natural chemicals/hormones don't work like nature indended. Don't misunderstand this - I'm not saying that you should avoid these steps - what I'm saying is that if you want to go natural - avoiding induction gives you the best chance at achieving this....

I agree with someone else's post too - I know I'm going to be shocked at the pain and I will bet a million that I'll beg for pain relief...hehee...

Something that gives me a tiny bit of confidence is my friend. She just went into labour this morning - went to the hospital right away at 8:30 am and delivered by 10:30 am - her first baby!!!! I know everyone is different - but stories like this boost my confidence!

Angeleyes,

Long time no see! I wasn't sure what happened with you. So nice to see that you're so close! For a while there I was next due on the 'helicopter' ride - now it's you. How has your pregnancy been going? Obviously very well seeing as you've made it this far. Can't wait to hear about your birth :)

Hi everyone - Just a quick post for Lisa.

Thankfully, I haven't had any swelling yet, although the weather is getting a lot warmer here, so might be around the corner. My Doc says sleeping on your side helps circulation, so helps keep the swelling in your body down. Also lying with your feet elevated (when you're watching TV and stuff). Hope that helps!

Hi All! No big swelling here..if I am on my feet alot during the day I get 'cankles'. I too am going to try to go as natural as possible..ha! I am pretty good with pain but we will see how much I can really withstand. It all seems so far away but yet so close.

Right now we have so much which came up last week which is adding some stress but I am trying to take it one day at a time...first we are moving apartments inVienna! We found a gorgeous, bigger place with a garden..so I don't need to worrying about walking the dogs in the snow with a newborn strapped on my front. But move in date is 15.December! So I need to organize everything by mid-November. Second issue...our general contractor in Italy just up a quite on us! So now I need to drive to Italy by myself in 2 weeks to get everything (and the team) organized. Third issue...my ILs are are driving me batty and I am seriously concerned about their expectations...they want to move house but are not doing anything about it...so they expect DH (who works like a dog) to find them a new place and organize the move! Plus they are talking about bringing his aunt to live in Europe (from Canada!)..hellooo!! Not good timing! I am avoiding this subject of the ILs all together because I think they are being a bit selfish.

Enough of my rant...the weather is gorgeous these days 8) Anyone else not sleeping at night?? I can't find a position at all and Isabella is moving around - stretching, kicking...any suggestions??

Hi All

Just "moved" over to this thread. Image

I swell a bit (mostly hands and feet) but luckily not that much. :) A friend of mine had such bad swelling her hands were purple on most days!

Sleeping isn’t easy for me for a long time (with some bad days and some better). I’m trying to keep to a routine to make it easier. Luckily my little ballerina hasn’t “danced” that much during the nights, or it would be worse.

Haven’t really decided on the birth plan, but am inclined to go for natural. A bit scared of epidural, especially since I have scoliosis and it’s more difficult to get it right with spine problems. And I’d like to have one natural delivery to “know” what it’s like. Crazy, ha?

Not having the cleaning-craze, but going wild with decorating the house and preparing it for baby! Image
We’ve been here for less that 3 years and never really got around to getting things like lampshades, and some curtains. Also need to remove the computer from the little room to make way for baby. Image

Hi all,

Lots of activity going on here, how scarey is it all getting, we are so near.

MLG - Welcome, i remember how mad it felt when i finally moved over here, it was only then i allowed myself the chance to believe that we would finally get to hold our baby. Now i cant believe that the due date is less than 7 weeks away. hope the decorating goes smoothly

Tracii - Great news on the apartment, hoping you manage to get yourself super organised, since you have so much going on. I think the ILs are out of order, do they not realise how much you and dh have got on, i agree with you and think they are being selfish? Hoping you manage to get everything sorted without too much stress.

gregmbarry - Im with you on trying to go natural, although when it comes to it, i may take all pain relief going!!!! When i have been in the hospital a number of people have said those that had to be started off tend to feel more pain during labour, so it probably is like you say, about interfering with nature, but sometimes there are no other options. One lady was 15 days overdue and still hanging in, i hope im not like that  .

Jamato - glad all is progressing well with you, thanks for saying a little prayer for us, much appreciated.

Lisa - Shopping is fab, isnt it? I just wonder if we ever stop and how much never gets used? but i am enjoying it while i can. Hoping your back clears up soon, take care

Cla - Nice that you got chance to post inbetween all that cleaning Image , when you have finished do you want to stop by mine???? Although i have started cleaning and finishing odd jobs, there is still a long way to go.

Angeleyes - 1 week left, how exciting, wishing you all the best for a pain free labour!!!!

Bella - Hoping that raspberyy leaf does the trick, especially as it tastes so bad.

Kristi - Hope you are rested. it is amazing how the last few months seem to be flying, not long now. I cant wait to start seeing the baby pictures.

Mel - Hoping all is well and you are enjoying your last few weeks of freedom!!!

Lots of love to all

Hello, have not been on here for a while so I am checking in to see how everyone is doing. Looks good so far. They finaly took me off bed rest (Thank Goodness). I see ya'll are talking about swelling well I am the queen of swelling trust me. My hands, feet, face and legs are awefull. I have pitting edema but doing as well as I possibly can. My doctor told me they are going to take him at 39 weeks. He is still breech and will not turn so I have to have a c-section. Can't wait as every day gets worse and worse for me. But then again I feel real lucky to have to go through this. Hope everyone is doing well.

Hi girls!!

Well I had an ultrasound yesterday (because I am high risk my dr did an ultrasound to check on baby size in case I go into labor early) It was AMAZING! Logan is 2lb 13oz already (almost 3LBS!!!) We were amazed he is also already head down and with his size it is not likely that he will turn again - so at least I know somewhat what I am feeling when he kicks as opposed to turning his head! We can't wait!! His little feet are also two inches!!! I can't believe it but he is measuring big so far for 28 weeks which is fine - less to worry if he comes a little early!

Hi Everyone -

I just got back from an appt and it didn't go as well as I had hoped. I have protein in my urine, my BP is up (130/78 when it has been 105/60 normal) and my ankles and feet are GIGANTIC. The doc didn't seem too concerned although to me those are all signs pointing to a possibility of pre-eclampsia. I guess she would know better.

Also, the babe's hb was low (115) so they gave me a non-stress test. It seems the babe might have just been sleeping. They had to buzz it to wake it up and then the hb went back up to around 140 where it has been. They were also concerned about the amniotic fluid level but that was in the normal range.

Geez, am I EVER going to stop worrying about this little one? Or is it just going to get worse when it is finally born? I've made little progress since last week... I'm now 70% effaced, but still just at 1cm. I guess that's a good start though.

Anyone else feeling like they have PMS? I am so emotional! Not really bratty, just everything makes me want to cry.

Sorry ladies... that's it for my pity party venting. I will try to have more PMA!

I hope you are all feeling good (as good as possible at this point!) and that your babes continue to stay happy and healthy.

Julie,

Oh my...I feel so bad for you having to worry this late in your pregnancy. BUT the good part is that your body is preparing to deliver - slow but sure. My prayers are with you - very much in my thoughts. Did you ask your dr about the possibility of pre-eclampsia? I would think all of your symptoms would point to that. I've been having swelling and a bit of a sudden weight gain and my dr said as long as I'm feeling okay - and no vision disturbances - everything should be fine.

I guess if I were you I'd make sure I bring up the questions to the dr...and doing research on the internet. My question is - they do all these tests at EVERY appointment (urine, blood pressure etc) - now you have blood pressure and protein issues...what will the dr do about it?? Gee!! I guess I should have some faith in the medical system...so maybe they do know what they're doing.

But Julie, I think your baby is coming!! :D How exciting! You'll be the first of our bunch to bring your little bundle home.

Gregmbarry and EYCI - you guys are almost there!! Just a couple of weeks or possibly days until you meet your little ones :D EYCI - doc knows what she is doing..but it is hard not to worry..not sure that it ever stops when you are a mother...I am a natural born worrier - inherited trait from my mother...but haven't gotten the grey hairs..yet :D

Sue e - How are you doing? Yes I hope to get ILs straightened out..but it is a never-ending story..DH is an only child so he feels obligated to make sure they are well taken care of (i.e. we do everything for them  )...but I am pushing the thoughts out of my mind and focusing on the baby.

Angeleyes, MLG and Madiva - Welcome back! good to hear from you guys and hearing everything is progressing nicely!

Jamato - Your little guy is definitely growing :D

Hi to everyone else I missed 8)

Looks like the bigger apartment may not happen..the realtor is messing around with us..and DH and myself don't like to play games..so we were very blunt with her yesterday so we shall see how she reacts (me being the cynic says she won't react at all). But I believe things happen for a reason and I am still perfectly happy in the smaller apartment in Vienna. I finished my italian lessons yesterday..next week I get to put my 'talent'(ha!) to use.

I think Isabella is really growing..I go to docs next Friday..seems like forever since my last appointment. She is still moving but favors the right side of my stomache and likes to push out with her legs and feet..believe me she is getting MUCH stronger..must be all the calcium in the icecream I have been eating

Anyone else think about what the little one will be like? hair, eyes, skin tone..? personality? I find myself daydreaming or trying to put a picture together of what Isabella is going to be like...mmm..just a couple of more months :D
