I can't believe it...I'm back!

Post by fulloffaith »

Hi ladies!

Man I haven't been on this site in ages. But time has passed and God has opened a door that I never expected. A drug co. is conducting a study at my clinic, testing out a new stim med. And after they found out I met all the strict requirements we decided to participate in ANOTHER IVF cycle but this time....it's FREE!! I really still can't believe we are getting this opportunity. Even though I have been thru this before, the study controls this whole thing so I don't have any clue what is going to be going on! No calendar, no downregging... I go in tomorrow on day 1 of my cycle and start taking the shot they give you...on day 8 I start stimming and then come in every day til I have at least 3 follies over 17mm. Then they give you the trigger shot and you go in for ER. So much quicker than the usual 5-6 weeks I am used to.

This time I am looking at IVF as a gift, not a chore. I never thought we'd be able to go thru this again, to be given the chance to have our own baby but there is still hope! Amazing...

Glad to be back with you ladies...seen some familiar names and some new ones. Let's finish this year off with a bang!

Love,
Allison

Congratulations. I hope you get a BFP.

Do you mind me asking what the strict requirements are?

Thanks ladies! Good luck to everyone too!

Tiff, the requirements were things like, age, normal hormone levels, I had to do a total blood test where they check all organ functions, full exam, papsmear, no previous OHSS, be on no medication while I am cycling, I even had to be a certain weight - 132 lbs. I had lost alot of weight since the last time I did IVF - so I actually had to gain weight. When I 1st went in I was too thin and they said they would not let me participate if I was anything less than 132 - greater chance of OHSS they said. So when I weighed in I was 133 with my boots on!! HAHA - So I passed...

Smita - I think of you too...I bet that little girl is beautiful and getting so big!

Ok my 1st appt is today - gotta get myself geared up for the daily shots again!! :)

That is so cool. I live near TX so I was just wondering which clinic. I would be willing to travel to see if I qualify. Can you give me any information?

Good luck to you! I hope you get a BFP!

Allison -

That's wonderful! I live just outside of DFW, so I'm pretty close to you! Is your clinic in Denton, or in the Metroplex? I am just curious about the drug study and if they are holding it through my clinic (in Bedford). I am on my 2ww from my most recent FET cycle, so I am sure I could not do it at this time, but it is nice to know someone is getting some treatment at a decent price!

Good luck!!!

Hey Tiff and Stef,

My clinic is in Bedford, TX so Stef we prolly go to the same place!
Tiff, go to www.embryo.net - they have one location in Bedford and a new one in Plano.
My Dr. said today they have 70 slots available and only 40 women have qualified so far so I think there is still some open. I am the 10th person who has started the meds. All the other ladies are waiting on AF.

Good luck on your FET Stef... hopefully you won't have to participate in the study!!

Have a great weekend!

Hey, Allison...we are at the same clinic!! Isn't that funny how you meet people from all over the world on the 'net, and it is so surprising to meet someone from just around the corner! :D

Thanks for the well wishes...we sure hope we won't have the need for additional IVF cycles, but I think I may just ask the question when I go in for my pregnancy test on the 5th...can't hurt to have some options! Mind if I ask what the age limit is? I am 36 (and not getting any younger, unfortunately!).

Thanks!
