On 2ww. Have I over done it??

Post by Corinna »

Hiya all,

I'm 3dpt with my 2 precious frosties.

On my last fresh cycle I had 3 days bedrest after transfer which bored me senseless. It didn't get me anywhere cos I got a BFN, so this time I vowed that I would carry on as normal (to a certain point, obviously)

The day of transfer I went home and chilled out for the rest of the day. The next day I pottered around a little and made dinner but that was about it. Today, I have done a bit of housework but didn't do any heavy lifting or vacuming, etc. Its also my DD's birthday next week so I wanted to go and get her a birthday cake.

Some of the major supermarkets (sainsburys & tesco) do cakes now where you can take a photo to their bakery and they will laser it onto a cake!! Genius!!! Anyway, we went to one supermraket first but they didn't do it, so we schlepped to another one and got it done. Anyway, the queue was massive and we were queuing for about 20 mins.

I started to feel a bit tired and started getting irritable. I also noticed that "down below" where I suspect my uterus is started to feel quite heavy and warm. Once I got back in the car I felt like I had quite bad AF pains & started feeling nauseus. I'm at home now and I feel fine but I'm SO WORRIED that I've overdone it and killed my embies.

I know I sound dramatic but they are only 5 days old today so they wom't have embedded yet. They survived the thaw and even went on to divide even further before transfer. They've been through such a lot and I go and do this!!! I'm so stupid!!! I should have just left when I saw the queue!!! :x

Please advice me on what to do?? Have I done any damage?? Has anyone else done this & got a BFP???

Lots of love, Corinna xx

Corina,

Hi - First of all - stop worrying, you have done no harm to ur embies whatsoever. Standing in a queue isnt going to make a difference at all. We tend to wrap ourselves up in cotton wool during the 2ww, and most women at this stage dont even know they are pg, some drink, take tablets, drugs even - and their babies come to no harm. Im sure standing in a queue and lifting a cake is fine hun.

Please dont worry - ur embies need u to stay positive, they want to hang around and see what all this fuss is about just as much as u want them to.

So stop fretting and relax, bulid up ur PMA and on ur test date, i wanna hear the brill news that u got a huge BFP OK :D

Take care, and keep me posted,

Becky Xxxx

Hi Corinna

Please stop worrying. I doubt you've done nothing to harm your success. The day of my transfer I had to stand for 2 hours on the tube on the way home. I rested for the first day, but was then cooking, cleaning, washing, not over doing it and not vacuuming. Like you, I have children at home so it's impossible to do nothing. I then went out and had some retail therapy for about 3 days on the trot and as you can see we got a BFP!

You are getting irritable and tired because of the progestone you are taking. Your uterus will be feeling heavy because your overies are the size of gratefruits at the moment and now your body is telling you I'm bored of shopping today can we go home and just chill!

You got the cake you wanted so that's something you now don't have to worry about.

Just take it easy for the rest of the day and listen to your body.

Best of luck for that BFP

Jo

Hi Corinna

I asked my consultant about the whole bed rest versus carrying on as normal. He said other than heavy lifting, he believes that it makes no difference at all.

He said if the embies wish to stay with you then they will just do so!!! He said that sadly if they don't wish to stay then that is just a sad fact of life. I said that I'd lay down for 2 weeks if he thought that would help and he said no way. Worst thing is stress so please try not to worry.

I am sure that your DD will be totally thrilled with her cake.

Very best of luck.
Love Carolyn xxx

Corina, can I just endorse what the other ladies have said. Many women get pg and don't even know, they carry on with their lives as normal. Try not to worry. Btw...as we went abroad for tmt we had to fly back to UK the day after transfer....airports aren't the most restful of places!!
I'm sure you will be fine, enjoy the cake!!
