Jeck...Go...Just as long as you're not out too late...Go out and have fun with the girls...It will help keep your mind off of the procedure, too...

Thank you all for your concern. Sorry to report that my back is no better. In fact, I think it's gotten worse. I've been lying down since Friday night. Ice packs on and off. It's definitely my sciatica, but I don't know why...I did break down today and took some Ibuprofen. I did some research & everything I found indicated that it wouldn't cause any issues to take before the transfer. I didn't want to, just in case, but I had to do something. My DH is convinced it has something to do with the IVF drugs. Either they're causing something chemically to happen, or they’re causing things to swell & that's putting pressure on my spine. I keep telling him I don't think so, but I'll be able to ask when I go in tomorrow. Otherwise, from everything else I've read, acupuncture is about the only thing I can do to help with the pain management. I wasn't planning on doing acupuncture, but maybe that's something that will be good for my back and for a BFP. I'm not giving up at this point, so whatever it takes to get me to the finish line, is what I’m going to do to get there. To find the silver lining, at this rate, a couple of days bed rest after the transfer will not be an issue for me. My DH has been great this whole weekend with an invalid for a wife. He’s just worried if this is a sign of things to come during my pregnancy.

JenJ...I said the same thing to my husband last night too...I could do FET's until the cows come home, but I'm not so sure I could do another retrieval/collection cycle. I would, but it would take some time for me to get back on that horse. I only hope that they get as many as Jeck! Wow! That's a great number...

Aunty...I took your tip on the shots in the tummy, and the first one hurt more than in my thigh, but I kept with it, and you're right, it is better...I've been doing the Lupron in the thighs, and the Follistim in the abdomen.

JenJ & Aunty...Are you having any ovarian pain yet...I've been having twinges, but thankfully nothing too major. I had a dream Friday night that I had only 2 follicles and they were increasing my Follistim to 600 units a day!! I'll find out tomorrow if that was just a bad dream or a premonition. Hope just a bad dream…

Nance…You know how you were saying you were worried about the EC with the position of your ovary. That’s so funny. That was one of the first things I brought up to my RE’s attention when we opted for IVF, and was worried about the retrieval. He said there shouldn’t be any problems, either. He said that when the ovaries become swollen with all the follicles they become heavy & have a tendency to drop down and are much easier to access. I sure hope so. If both our RE's said no worries, I think we’re probably safe…

thook…Good luck with that BFP!! You're a saint for not being tempted to do a HPT yet...I'll be watching all day Tuesday for your post...

gina s, Haylie, Lori, Cowgirlclass, & Malinka…I'm guessing you're feeling like this 2WW is torture. We’ve all become experts at waiting, so hang in there gals. It will all be worth it...

Jenn, Jeck, cmoscar, & BelieveBaby…Good luck with those EC’s. As soon as you’re feeling up to it, let us know how it went…I am getting a little worried about that too, so I want to hear how easy it was…Lie if you have to… :)

Jill...Welcome. I started posting about two weeks ago, and the ladies on this forum are awesome. I've finally found a positive place where you're not judged, your supported, and you're given nothing but great advice from experienced women who have been there/done that. No worries on asking any questions. And if you're having a bad day, this is definitely the place you want to be. I haven't had too many issues with Lupron, but when you get to the stims, make sure you drink lots of water. I found that out the hard way. I had one of the worst headaches ever the first day, but got a great tip on water consumption from the ladies here, and I have only felt a headache coming on when I haven't been drinking enough. I drink some water and the headache goes away. Glad you found us...

For the rest of us…Baby dust, baby dust, baby dust for all us mommies-to-be…Take care lovely ladies…Off to be a pin cushion... :)

Hi ladies! Sorry I have been away for awhile! It is football season in Texas and we are busy! I have a consultation with my RE scheduled for October 27 so it looks like we will hopefully get to transfer in November. I am hoping to have some good news before Christmas (that is when first baby was due).

Anyway...Good luck to all on the 2ww and I hope to see lots of BFPs! I found the Food Network very entertaining when I was on my 2ww last time! It kept my mind off of everything but eating!

jeck- thinking of you today having your EC, take it easy after won't you! did you have a good nght out? it is important to do and talk about other things other than ivf or it'll drive us mad.

thook-wow, tommorow is the big day! can't wait to see that BFP posting :D

charity- ooh you poor thing! don't worry about taking paracetamol if you need it, my doc said it is perfectly safe and it is better than you feel as comfortable as poss. hope you start feeling better.

cmoscar- good luck to you too for EC today, hope it went well, just think the magic will be happening by tonight!

jstrandlund- hello and welcome. hope all goes well for you.

well im not finding th 2WW too bad, just feel uncomfortable still but i think that is coz ovaries are still quite large. am hating the pessaries errh! but i know they are an important part of th process so hey ho, off we go! am back at work tommorow so hopefully the remaining days will fly by. got to try and not get stressed too which maybe tricky. good luck everyone, stay positive, this is our time, i just know it xxx

Well, my ER has been moved to Wednesday. I am so very sad this morning because my U/S showed only 8 follies. I am down from the 11 they originally saw. I am so very disappointed. This is our only shot at this and I did hope to have a couple t freeze for a possible FET if this did not work. Even if we had the money to do another cycle, I would not do it again. I am sore and tired and very emotional. I am praying hard that they are able to get 8 eggs and then have all eight fertilize. I guess we will see. They also told me today that they want to do the ISCI to give us the best chance of fertilization.

Of well, I am going to be selfish today and just read. I will to my personals tomorrow or maybe tonight if I feel better.

Racheal - you are not selfish and you are entitled to your bad days. 8 follies is still really good and although you may not have any to freeze you won't have to cos you will get your BFP, I just know it!! Don't forget it only takes 1 little darling to make it and it is quality not quantity!

jeck- How are you? I'm dying to hear how you got on. I would definitely go out on Friday if you feel up to it. I went out with a girlfriend the night before my transfer and she doesn't know that we are doing IVF at the moment, so it was nice to talk about everything else and have a girlie laugh.

Charity - I hope your back gets better soon you poor thing.

Nictor - I hope your injections go okay. I did mine in my tummy but I used to numb the area with ice first I found this really helped.

Gina - I'm also back in work tomorrow and surprisingly I'm finding the 2ww okay. I'm convinced it is going to work this time(wrongly or rightly) so maybe that is why!! I figure that you may as well be positive about it cos if it doesn't work it will still hit you the same whether you've been neg or pos, so at least being positive helps a bit! I think!!, maybe I'm just talking rubbish!!!! Sending lots of babydust to us all!!

Hello all

Racheal - I too have just had my scan and I only have 8 follies. I too am a bit disappointed. So I guess we're both having a bad day. BUT, the docs did say it is quality not quantity!! So here's hoping we both get marvellous looking embies. Fingers crossed.

How did the EC go today Jeck?

And Charity - have read about your back. That sounds painful, hope it gets better soon.
Take care all

Halye I am going nuts!!!!!!

Bec and Racheal I was worried the same as you two ladies. I only had 8 follies and only 7 eggs of which 6 were mature. 4 fertilized normally and 3 of the 4 went to high grade 8 cells. And one only went to 4 cell. But I was didn't plan to freeze so this was great for me! It only takes 1 and my doc said that putting 1 in is about 30%, 2 in is about 40% and 3 or more the percent goes up negaliably and not worth the risk. Please try to stay positive. I know it is very hard with other ladies around having 18 + follies, but just keep saying it is quality not quanity. :-)

Hello everyone!

Rachael & BecP- I'm with you, I went for a scan today and I only have 4 good ones so far. They said there are 2 other smaller ones that are almost there and may be ready by EC. I was very discouraged. The nurse said my lining was perfect and the 4 good follicles I had were great so i shouldn't be too disappointed, but I am. All those shots and only 4 good ones??? I feel like an underachiever in the egg making catagory!!

They think EC now will be Fri. or Sat. I have to go back tomorrow. Then the Dr. will tell me I hope.

Jeck- how are ya feeling??

Thook- good luck- only one more sleep!!!

Take care everyone!
Jenn

Hello Girls- :D

Cowgirlclass, Lori, Malinka, Gina s., & Haylie- how are you all holding up on your 2ww.... taking it easy I hope.

Jenn- just remember that is only takes 1 strong embie to stick... I have a feeling you'll get a BFP this time.

Jeck- how did your EC go? Hope your feeling ok... and just think your little embies are growing as we speak.

Cmoscar- I have a feeling Wednesday is going to be a great day. Also remember it only takes 1 strong embie to make a BFP. Try to keep your PMA up...

BelieveBaby- how are you doing? Getting excited for your EC this week?

Charity- sorry to hear your back is still hurting. Hopefully you'll find something you can take that will ease the pain.

JenJ & Aunty- How are you girls doing? Hopefully not having any side effects from the meds.

Nictor- hope your doing ok on your shots... I also did mine in the tummy (Follistem & Menopur). The Follistem didn't hurt at all, but the Menopur kind of stung. Just remember to rub your tummy lightly afterwards... it helped for me.

As for me I'm starting to get impatient.... tonight will probably be a restless night for me. I take my test at 8:15am tomorrow morning. However, we are having my clinic call our home answering machine to leave the news. This way me & my DH can hear the news together when we get home from work. I'm thinking this will help ease the pain if we get a BFN.... and if we get a BFP (which I'm hoping for) we can both celebrate together. Keeping my fingers crossed....

If I've missed anyone please forgive me... my mind is in another world today.

Here's spreading plenty of baby dust to everyone... and egg food too....

Tasha

Jenn - I too feel like and egg loser. I never had problems getting pregnant before, so I went in confident. I thought I would take a few shots and end up with 20+ eggs and plenty to freeze. I am only 28 and I should have plenty left, but I don't.

My DH took me out for lunch today since I was so upset. He told me that one way or the other, in nine months, I will leave my job and stay home again. I burst into tears because I cannot imagine being home with no one to care for. My oldest two are so independent and go to school for 8 hours. The house can only be cleaned so many times. I don't understand why I want to have the baby so much, I just know I do. I want to go to the zoo with the older ones and see them enjoy life. I really feel cheated!

I am trying hard to cheer up, it is not over until the PG is BFN, but it is really hard today.

Sorry for the bad attitude, however good luck to all of you!

I have such a hard time keeping up with everyone to email a little to all of you. I read the post and keep all of you in my prayers. I am so happy for those of you that are going well and those that are "struggling" things are always as grim as they seem. Remember, it only takes one. I try to remember that all of this is worth it for the prize at the end...

Went to the doc today for my first appt after starting stims, only for blood work and my E2 levels are looking good. I go in Wed for US and will get to see what's happening in there!!! I am so excited and nervous. It is finally hitting me that we are doing this AGAIN!!!
