HELLO EVERYONE! Sorry I have not posted in a while. Things have been crazy on this end. Retrieval is tomorrow morning! Hopefully successful! Transfer scheduled for Sunday the 8th! I hope those embies go to blast as anticipated!! Had a stressful weekend. My best friends father passed away on friday. Died of a massive heart attack at 47. Her mom died 6 years ago, cancer. She is 29. Such a sad ordeal. I have been very emotional and stressed out at the same time. Up until last week the acupuncture was working great for my stress. Anyways rambling on. Sorry!
Hope all is going well and will talk to you soon! Wish me luck and lots of baby dust !

Jeck - WOW!! 28 eggs is amazing. I am so happy for you that it went well. Keep us updated on how they and you are doing.

thook - Good luck tomorrow. All my prayers are with you.

As for me I had a scan today and really could not get to much information from my RE other than "you have a few small follicles" I have no idea what "a few" means and when I asked how everything looked she said "we'll see" . That answer does not instill tons of confidence in me but I guess it is what it is and all I really need is one good one. They said that if they will not go foward with the cycle if there is any less than 5 so I am hoping to get at least that. I am only on day 4 of stims so I have pleanty of time. I go back for another scan on Thursday. We will see then I guess.

All my best to everyone.

Sorry for the short post but it has been a crazy day and I will check back in a little later.

Oh my goodness 28- Jeck that is wonderful!! glad to read you are feeling good too!!

Nance- You definately have plenty of time to get enough good eggs!! Stay positive!

Rachael- I'm glad you had a good lunch with DH. I know what you mean about leaving work in 9 months... I am taking this year off of work to concentrate on getting pg. I do get bored. The house is spic and span though  Anyway cheer up, it will all work out for us I know it!!

Everyone on the 2ww hang in there. I can't wait to see all of your BFP's!! :D

Welcome back Ampmed1! Sorry things are hectic, I hope they get better for you!

Well my estrogen is 572 today. Whatever that means! I go back tomorrow. I hope they aren't going to take more blood. Today, my veins were not cooperating! Maybe she will find another big egg hidden in there!

bye for now...
Jenn

Nance- yes you have plenty of time for all your little follies to grow... the first scan I had only showed 2. By the time my EC came I had 23... so no worries.

Jenn- that's a pretty average estrogen level. As long as it doesn't get up around 5,000-6,000 your fine (at least that's what my clinic told me). I hear ya about veins not cooperating... I had to go in daily for 8 days (my doctor wanted to see me everyday since I have PCOS). By the end of the week I looked like an addict w/ track marks... not a pretty picture. Just remember to drink plenty of water... good luckl!

Hope all you ladies have a great night...

Thook - Good luck tomorrow... I wouldn't be able to let the news sit on my answering machine, but I think it's a great idea to share with DH. On news day, I keep my cellphone on me at all times. I can't wait to hear from you! I know it will be BFP!

Jenn- you are still VERY early in cycle and they can adjust your meds to help. Don't give up hope!

I'm still at home on rest (per Dr.) and going a lot stir crazy. I don't go back to work until Thursday.

JECK-Congratulations!! 28 eggs is AWESOME!!! You will have tons of great embryos I bet! After you have this baby, you will be able to just keep doing FETs-that is so great. I am sure you and DH are really excited. Thanks also for your words of encouragement about the procedure. I have been so stressed out-I still am-and I just can't wait till it's over at this point. I envy you for being on the other side!

thook-I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and hoping to hear your BFP!!

Cmoscar and Charity-thanks for your words of support. It feels good to know that I am not alone feeling the way I do. I really don't know that I can do this again-it's just too intense. Never say never. We'll see what happens. Rachael, I'm sorry you have fewer follies than they thought but it is still a great number! Charity, I am so sorry your back is bothering you so much. That just adds to the whole drama doesn't it?!

Well as for me, I am hanging in there. I have definitely started to feel my ovaries. I can't wait for Wednesday so I can find out what the schedule is. I have been so stressed out and so emotional. I can't stop worrying about everything! My internet research habit is also not so helpful. I can find all kinds of statistics to support any theory I come up with! Poor hubby has had enough at this point (so have I actually-you know it's bad when you start irritating yourself even!)

I am thinking of you all and wishing BFPs to all!

Hey Racheal,
It sounds like you could use a big hug and lots of support right now. I am new to this IVF stuff but I do have a story that may just give you some hope.
The wife of a man that my dh and I do work for out of our shop recently discovered that we were beginning an IVF treatment. He was excited to report that after many rounds on Chlomid and three failed IUI's he and his wife decided to try IVF. They were very disappointed when they had only four follicles. Fortunately all four of them took. However by the time of the transfer they did not have any split into the ideal eight cells. One split into three cells, two split into four cells and one split into five cells. Her doctor gave her the choice of stopping there and trying agian next month or transfering all four and hoping for the best. She chose to transfer all four with the understanding that her odds were slim in acheiving a pregnancy. Well she now is the proud mommy of a healthy and beautiful baby boy. So even when things look discouraging there may be hope!! Don't give up hope!!

You are so very sweet! I loved the story and I am still hanging onto the belief that my eggs will all develop. I also got some shocking news this afternoon. My husband's ex-nanny is looking for someone to adopt her daughter and bring her to the US. She is 12 years old, and very smart. Her mom is about to have another baby and she is not married and has very little money. They are both in the Dominican Republic which is were my DH is from. DH and I are now looking at doing the adoption no matter what happens with the IVF cycle. I am unsure of this, but I am excited as well. I would finally have a daughter and I already know she needs a good loving family which we have. It is strange how things happen sometimes. In some ways, it almost feels right and in others I worry about the immigration process, the legal process, etc. I told DH I needed some time to think about it, but I am not entire opposed to it. She is beautiful though, we got a picture of her today.

Anyway, sticky baby dust to all!

Jill...I loved your story. Thanks for giving all of us hope. If anyone has any others, I know I’d love to hear more BFP IVF stories…

I also thank everyone for your words of concern. The back is feeling better today!! Yeah...I know Ibuprofen is not ideal when TTC, or during IVF, but that's what's finally helped improve my status. I took off work today cause I didn't want to push it sitting all day, but will give it a try tomorrow.

Went for my first scan. I’ve been stimming since Thursday, so didn't expect they'd see a whole lot just yet. They did count 15 follicles, but she thought they needed to be bigger. So, my dosage was increased to 300/day from the 225 of the Follistim...I am hoping for the best. My little eggies need to start cooking. 15 may be a fair number, but if they're all immature, the number is irrelevant.

Jenn, BecP & Rachael...It's not always the quantity, it's the quality. Hang in there ladies.

My next scan is on Wednesday, and then another on Friday...Thought that was a little irregular, but they said that was what they typically did...My RE knows I'm worried something's going to go wrong, so keeps reassuring me that it's all normal, or "within normal range"...Like you ladies, I've never strived to be "average" at anything in my life, but at this point, average sounds pretty darn good.

I can't wait to hear from you tomorrow, thook...How exciting!! And Jeck...You little fertile Myrtle, as my mom would say...28!! That's incredible. You are so lucky...You have to let us know how the little buggers are doing tomorrow. We expect a full report... :)

For the rest of you, I can only say that it has been a pleasure meeting such a positive, strong, exceptional group of women. You give me strength in reading about your experiences and bravery. We should write a book together. A chapter for each of our experiences. It could easily become a bestseller!! Well...Think about it, and I'll contact a publisher if any of you are on board...:D Take care lovely ladies...Later gators!!

Malinka--I know the PIO shots are a bear!! Try putting a hot as you can stand it wash cloth on it after the shot. This will help the PIO not clump together and make a knot!! Hope this helps!

Charity--28!! I know I can't believe it, it is almost double from my first IVF. I know you are worry wart, buy you are exactly on the same dosage that I had my first IVF. They can't start you out too high because they don't know how your body is going to handle it. You will see a big difference on the 300 units when you go back and yes it is very normal for them to scan you every other day and don't be suprise that the closer you get to ER, they could bring you in every day!!! I had 16 eggs last time and 5 that made it to blast!!! Oh also, my EC went very good and I was nice and drugged up and it was wonderful... I was a little sore when I woke up but I have had periods worse than that. So you will do fine on EC, and I am not making it sound better than it was!! LOL!! Be sure to take your pillow and blankey so your ride home will be nice and comfey!!

Good Luck ladies, I am going to take some good drugs so I get a good nights sleep!!! Read you tomorrow!!!!
