Acupuncture at Harley Street

Post by mercury »

Hi there,

I want to start acupuncture prior IVF and I have trouble deciding where to go. I came across the London Acupuncture Clinic in Harley Street on the Internet and they seem to specialise in infertility. Does anyone know about this clinic, if yes would you recommend it. I guess acupuncture treatment is all the same anywhere you go, but I just want to check whether anyone has used it before or if you know of any good one in london, it will be much appreciated if you could let me know.

My best wishes to you all.

Hi Mercury

I have my first appointment at that acu clinic tomorrow - I'll let you know all about it!
It was recommended to me by a lady from these boards who's been going for a while - Carolyn. I'm sure she'll see your post and tell you all about it. Otherwise, if you look on the IVF Hammersmith thread, there's a bit on there about this clinic.

Good luck

Hi V

As Lola says I have been going there since I got a BFN back in May. I see Daniel. I mailed a few clinics and they were the first to respond to me and knew all about supporting ivf and Hammersmith where both Lola and I go. Interested to see what Lola says after her first appointment but I have found it relaxing & also we talk about tmt and he is quite knowledgable which has helped me make certain decisions although he'd never tell me what to do. No idea yet whether it has helped me or not but the changes that he told me to expect in my AF have certainly occurred. With me he has been focused on improving the quality of my lining and regulating my cycle. I am running at about 31 days now on a regular basis whereas after the drugs it had gone up to like 34 days.

I would recommend. It was about £60 for the first session and then £45 for follow ups. Plus £20 for the herbs that he gave me to help clean my system. Have to drink these during AF.

Hope that this helps. Let us know if you decide to go there.

Good Luck with your tmt.

Hi Lola/Carolyn

Thank you both for your response. I will certainly book an appointment for an initial consultation hopefully to be seen this month. Good to know that you are both from Hammersmith hospital, that's where I will have my first IVF ( I have just read the hammersmith thread) very helpful info there. I had my first preliminary appointment with Dr Levery last wednesday, it went well, he was very nice and helpful and gave us lots of info and also kindly advise us that we might lose our chances on the NHS if ever we decide to do 1 IVF on private while waiting for the NHS one. He advises us it is best wait have the 2 go on the NHS and pay for one private. I think he is right.

Lola, I hope your acu consultation went well and you enjoyed it, can't wait to hear all about it.

Carolyn I wish you all the best of luck for your next IVF, which I'm sure will be successful with good acu.
