anyone taken gonal f

Has anyone taken this and gotten good response? I went in on cd8 for a U/S after clomid 100mg. I don't think it does much for me. I only had one good follie at 16 and then several at 12-13. I know it is early though. I started gonal f 75u. Ouch-it hurts too. Anyways, just curious how others responded to this med. I go in tomorrow for another check and IUI at the end of the week.

hey, you have a very low dose of Gonal F. That is probably why you have such a poor response. I had 112.5 twice a day, 225 total and didn't responed well too. Had only 7 follicles - 8 eggs.

It didn't hurt at all. Where are you injecting it?

Hey Tiff... im a Gonal F lady... i was on Follistim for my first cycle i got 4 eggs...i was switched to Gonal F 450 a day and got 11 eggs so i love it yes it does hurt and stings too well it does me but only until i rub it in....

I took it my first round of IVF...I don't remember dosages or that sort of thing, but I did have a very good response...I believe we retreived somewhere around 24 eggs, and I think of those nineteen fertilized.

My second IVF was a drug study done through my clinic where they dictated the medication used for stim. I was wishing I was on gonal-f again, because I had nowhere near the response I had with it.

Well, I started the gonal f after the last scan. Those follies were from clomid. I was just wondering what to expect for my U/S tomorrow. I can't wait. Everytime they do something different I think its gonna be the miracle drug or procedure. Did you guys have any side effects from it?

My DH puts it in my stomach. Where do you inject it?

Has anyone done estrogen suppositories? I started them too because my lining was thin.

Tiff - I used Gonal F for my first round of IUI in Feb, but I reacted very quickly. I ended up with 2 follicules of the correct size within a week. The next round of IUI I used menopour and I also used that during the IVF.

I did Gonal-F also. I initially started with 2 shots of 150 per day which they increased to 2 shots of 225 per day when my levels weren't increasing fast enough.

I did the shots in my abdomen and found that it wasn't too bad. The only time it kind of bothered me was when they had me to a 450 shot all at once rather than 2 225 unit shots.

In the end, they retrieved 17 eggs but only 6 fertilized. I was disappointed at first but then I was reminded that it is the quality, not quantity that counts. Don't get discouraged - remember you only need one (or two if you want twins) good embies to stick.

I have used gonal-f on both cycles, in conjunction with repronex. My cycle started at 300 u of gonal-f and 3 amps of repronex. Then after a couple of days we tapered down to 225 u gonal-f, 2 amps repronex. I had 14 follies from first cycle (13 eggs) and 13 follies from second (10 eggs).

I am suprised that anyone thinks it hurts. I am a big wimp when it comes to pain and wasnt too happy at the thought of injections but i have to say it was the thought that freaked me out, i didnt feel it really and after the first one i was fine with getting injections under the belly button area.
