Hey girls,

Hope you are all well today.

Jo - cramps are horrible. I've had them a couple of times in my left leg (strangely, the same with Sam!) and I honestly didn't know whether to laugh or cry. It's so sore and you just can't move. Steve just gets up and does his footballing cramp solutions on me... I always feel such a muppet afterwards

Kareen - Good luck with the scan. Waht a difference you'll see
:D I know the hospitals here won't tell you, we only found out when we booked a private scan, but to be fair, there was no hiding it anyway. LOL. Maybe that'll be the same for you....

Tammy - OMG - how much on sweeties   That's some sugar boost - bet there was flips going on in there

Justine - Better today thanks. Went back to work and made it through the day - although Monday is my best teaching day. Anyway, thinking positive and delighted to have lasted another day  Have told my department and Depute haed I may revise my leaving date - I'll see what the dr says on WEdnesday. I'm gutted to have had no cravings - wanted weird and wonderful ones this time, but no joy. It was the same last time  although can you count 2 days last time of wanting white chesse rolls???!!!!!!! :?

Hope you all have a good night ladies.

Hello All

I hope you are all doing well. It's a nice sunny day today (I feel like I'm on the children's channel telling you all the weather!).

Tammy I'm jealous 90$00 on sweets! One of the downsides of the diabetes, I had 28 years of eating what I wanted then they say no sugar! still I did get some licquorice yesterday, I do seem to really like that at the moment. Maybe that's my problem and it's not my crohn's! lol

Can we block Ebay? lol I wish! He does sell things too but it's not adding up the amount coming in and the amount going out! Oh well at least it keeps him from the pub!

Kareen I know what you mean about stretching. I daren't do it. It is so painfully, I hope you don't get them. I got carpal tunnel when I was pregnant with Emma, I would tell your midwife/gp next time you see them. I'm sure they injected something into my wrist to stop it hurting. Not as bad as it sounds.

At our hospital when you have the anatomy scan they take mum in on her own at first as they like it quiet while they do their investigations. Maybe you could ask when Darren's not there? I tried it with Jodie but I mentioned to the sonographer that Paul didn't want to know so he wouldn't tell me! We had to go for a little walk as they couldn't see something and then go back in. On this walk I convinced Paul that we really needed to know. Again, hormones in my favor I may have started crying - no one likes a hysterical pregnant lady - works everytime!

You should tell Darren that talking to the guys at work at babies and pregnancy is not healthy! lol

How's everything else going?

Oh Justine this cold seems to be going on forever! There's not much worse than blocked ears! I hope it goes away soon. How's the little boy, moving around loads?

It's so exciting that Sophie is starting to walk. Emma didn't walk until she was nearly two (lazy cow) but when she did it was perfect, no wobbling or anything, I think she was secretly walking when we were out the room. Jodie started walking just before she was one so they were walking within a couple of weeks of each other!

Zoe you will have to tell us more about the footballing cramp solutions

How are the BH? I hope they've calmed down a bit. I won't mention the leakage but I hope that has too! lol

We went to Lakeside yesterday. I wanted to get some christmas pressies and I've seen a nice red woolley wrap in fat shop (Evans). I don't want a maternity coat but walking to the school is going to get cold soon so I thought that would be ideal. I was so disappointed, we went all that way (well it's only 3/4 of an hour) and Evans was closed for refurbishment! Most of the shops shelves were bare where they are restocking!

Going to go to Chelmsford this afternoon once Jodie is at pre-school.

I hope everyone else is ok. I think I've gone on for way too long!

Enjoy your day

Jo

Jo - what a nightmare - crohn's and diabetes...I like some licquorice too, but not the really strong stuff - Bertie bassett's

BH's ok yesterday, but seemed to hit again today and they stopped me in my tracks a couple of times at school. My 6th years panicked me a bit today - I'm sooo superstitious and want notning in house - I won't buy anything yet etc. My S6 today came in with a very cute wee outfit for the baby and very sentimental card stating they felt they better give me it now 'just in case' - awww how fab are they? So now, I have to either leave it in school or give it to my mother-in-law to keep. Honestly, I do my own head in! Steve and my M-I-L are arranging smuggling stuff out the loft to wash etc when I don't know...   I mean, I wrote a hospital/baby needs list last Tuesday and look what happened on Wednesday LOL :? :o

As for the unmentionable - if my flaming classroom wasn't so hot all the time (pardon the pun there). then I'm sure that would calm down too... Dr tomorrow anyway...

Kareen - you do make me laugh with your eating. Did you always love food as much??? LOL. You may get lucky and not get the cramps...

Rileydee - welcome! The blooming stage will happen soon, if not already! :D

Take care all

Hello Ladies,

WOW have i missed all of you oh so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you all have been doing well. God its so tough to be away from this message board i feel so attached. Unfortunately our internet connection was hit by a lightning and didnt have service for so long.

Kareen~~~ Oh God do i understand the pain in your hands. I have been up the last week from the pain, tingling and numbness of my hands and fingers, its like you dont know what to do with them especially in the middle of the night. i told my doctor and he said i have carpal tunnel in both hands and really bad version. So i was required to stay off the computer and see if it made any difference, but obviously it didnt. I had to buy wrist braces that seems to help a bit. I wish you luck, try to get the braces if you can. Oh by the way you are going to enjoy your scan soooo much you see everything so detailed and wonderful. But a little bit of advice get up and move around once in a while or else you will get really dizzy as i did and felt sick the rest of the day.

Jo~~ i hope you have been doing better, has the abdominal pain gone away yet??? You are such a fighter !!!!! Your kids are gonna be such strong individuals because of you!

I had my level II scan last thursday that lasted 3 HOURS!!!!!! one hour per baby. Oh my GOD it was soooo tiring laying down flat on my back for that long.. The babies seem to be growing right on schedule of their gestational age... They had takes 250 different images of the three of them. So we have 2 boys confirmed for sure i saw there little boy parts  but it seems baby C really wants to surprise us because even with the level II ultrasound they were unable to tell, i guess i dont mind being surprised with at least one of them. I also had to do the AFP blood test last week. Hopefully by thursday when i go back to see my perinatologist he will give me information on the looooooooooooong scan and also my blood test results. The Carpal Tunnel has been a major issue for me this week, my fingers have been numb nonstop. Its become a pain in the rear end.

Ladies i have been doing everything to avoid stretch marks but its inevidable, I have veryyy long ugly red stretch marks all over my belly!
I have bought so many different lotions and ointments. NOthing has worked, i will post a pic on the bucket tonight when hubby gets home so you guys can see how ugly my big belly stretchmarks have gotten. I dont think i have seen anything this bad for a long time.

Are any of you ladies using maternity support belts to help your uterus? A friend of mine suggested using this to avoid added pressure on your cervix, i wanted to know if any of you have tried and if you would recommend it.

It feels so good to be back talking to you guys again, miss you all very much.

Talk to you guys soon...
Ciao
With Gods Blessings BFP!

Hey Kareen I'm sure you will be having a few more scans after the one next week. How does Darren feel about knowing you want to know? How would he feel if you knew and he didn't? I can understand not wanting to know but with twins it's slightly different. You still won't know when they're coming or what they will look like.

I didn't find out with Hannah and the first thing I did when she was born was apologised because she was a girl and my partner at the time wanted a boy! I found out with Alice. I didn't find out with Emma and I was so convinced she was a boy. Not one person said I was having a girl. People would stop me in the street - you know how everyone becomes an expert at sexing a bump - and would tell me that's a very large boy you have there. When she was born and was taken away without me even being told what sex she was beacuse Paul was the only person who had seen I didn't believe him when he said she was a girl. It was his first baby and I just thought he didn't know what he was looking at! lol The surprise of them being born was no different when we knew to when we didn't.

None of that has really helped at all has it?? Lol

Carpal tunnel is really common in pregnancy and it usually disappears within a couple of weeks of the birth. It's best to rest your hands on a separate pillow and try and not sleep with your head on your hands as this will make it worse. If you tell them next time you are at antenatal they may even refer you to see the physio. A split is a good idea too. I only ever had it with one of my pregnancies.

Hi Riley, welcome to the second trimester and well done. Everytime I see your signature I always smile. I've read a few of your posts in the past and you truly have a wonderful family. Christmas' round your way are going to be magnificient! You all have a very special bond.

Zoe I like the long tubes of licquorice which have the serbert in the middle and also the licquorice which have the hard case around - had to go to Lakeside to find them! Got to watch my sugars though

Do you not already have stuff in the house from your little one? You take the baby home every day! lol I think I'm quite lucky I've never been susperstitious about anything, I think if you are then you are, you can't change it! Hope all goes well at the doctors tomorrow.

Vita it's lovely to hear from you. No internet connection, that just isn't worth thinking about - glad your back! I can't believe that little one is being so awkard, a sign of things to come! lol

The pain has eased but I still have the urgency (sorry for tmi) so I really have to time going out the house. I phoned the midwife last week before I started taking my steriods just to confirm that they are ok to take during pregnancy. They phoned me back today to say as I'm not on them for a progloned period it shouldn't case cleff lip - I didn't even realise it may have! But they will keep a close eye on me. I have the consultant on Thursday.

I don't think I could lay on my back for 3 hours. I guess it was lovely seeing the babies but so uncomfortable for you. I only ever got stretch marks with my first baby (nearly 16 years ago) and my tummy looked like the A-Z of London! They are all silver and you don't really notice them so much. I have been putting cocoa butter on at night this time but I just go to bed smelling like a chocolate moose! I don't really think anything will help, if you're going to get them then you're going to get them. Besides you have three in there!

Not much happening for me today. I went shopping for about half an hour (was all I could manage) managed to get the wrap I wanted from fat shop, also got some really baggy t-shirts (they were only a fiver in fat shop rather than £20-30 in maternity shops).

I've just got back from taking Alice (nearly 14) to the emergency doctor, she had tummy pain for a few days and I just put it down to her period. I feel bad now as she has a kidney infection! I've got home to Hannah (nearly 16) balling her eyes out. Her boyfriend of a year and a half has finished with her (yippee), I really really feel for her but he is awful, always in trouble with the police etc, I'm so glad but so sad at the same time. See the worrying never ends.

Emma and Jodie are wonderful. I love all my girls all the same but I watch Jodie and I have tears in my eyes. She is just the most happiest, caring, compassionate little person you would ever meet. Emma has had a sparkle in her eyes since starting school, it's just so wonderful. Soon I'm going to read you lot going on about yours in this way! I pinch myself that we have been so lucky to have four wonderful daughters.

Yet again I've gone on and on about nothing, well at least I should help you sleep after reading all this!

I'd best get to bed it's nearly midnight now.

Take care, love to you all

Jo

i might go to EVANS for some baggy tops if they only a £5... maternity clothes are so pricey.... i bought a pair of maternity jeans from dorothy perkins... omg they are some price... before getting pregnant i could walk into new look or anywhere with a sale and happily buy a size 8/10 jeans for a £10.... 8) .. how times have changed...(wearing size 16 joggers) :D my tummy was quite sore yesterday...i noticed one of my many stretch marks has stretched width wise.... :? ... my tummy as i see it reflected back via the mirror is an ideal place to place snakes and ladders!!!! such a mess....anyway...whats on your menu today for dinner?.... i need to come up with new ideas... i hate fish  ..(never ate it b4) but i think my mind wants to try some!!!!... im fed up eating the same stuff....

Morning,

Kareen definately go and look round fat shop as they have a sale on. After the pregnancy we can sell them on Ebay!

I am upset seeing Hannah upset but I'm pleased because he is awful, not the type of person you want your daughter going out with!

I've just had carrot and corriander soup for lunch. Yesterday I made a chicken and mushroom pie with Emma, although I got told off as Snow White didn't glaze her pie with egg! I don't know what to do for dinner, maybe spag bol as that's Hannah's favorite!

Have you tried smoked mackerell? It's really good for you (but no more than a couple of times a week). I like it with salad at lunch and it only takes about 45 seconds in the microwave. Brain food is fish, helps our little wee ones become Einstien in the making!

Alice is crawling around in tears. It's hard to tell what's period pains, what's the infection or what is missing her boyfriend!

I'm feeling really shattered today. I'm still getting up every 45 minutes to an hour to go for a wee. It wouldn't be so bad if I actually slept for the time in between but I'm wide awake. Paul has just taken Jodie to pre-school so I may go and get my head down for a little bit.

I have got the consultant tomorrow. I have to be in Harlow at 8.40 - not the easiest of places to get to during rush hour. Will have to give myself an hour. At least I will get to hear the little one's heartbeat.

Oh and I had to share this with you (the link below). What is it all about? I crack up every time I see it. Surely by the time the baby can support it's head to be able to sit in the bucket it won't want to be in the feotal position anymore?? I'm sure you could get a bucket from the pound shop! Am I just missing the point?

Hope you have a lovely day. By the way the weather is beautiful today!

Speak soon

Hello Ladies:

Kareen: I think that I would ask your husband to fetch you a drink of water during your scan and then ask the technician to tell you the sex of your babies. I could not wait! You don't have to tell him that you know.

Justine: I'm sorry to hear that you have another cold. I still have some congestion and had a coughing fit last night. I cough so hard that it hurts my stomach :( .

Zoe: I was totally craving sweets over the weekend and we did not have one good sweet thing to eat. My cravings are weird. I have been craving oranges lately! Sometimes nothing will sound good to me. My DH cooked bacon in our basement microwave oven, as it did not sit well with my stomach yesterday morning when he cooked it in our kitchen.

Jo: I have been going to the bathroom to pee once or twice in the middle of the night. I'm sorry that you are not getting any sleep. My cat woke me up at 5:00am this morning and I had a difficult time getting back to sleep. Sometimes our bedroom feels like Noah's Ark, as we have 2 labrador retrievers and 2 cats.

Vita: It is so good to hear from you. I bet your third baby is a girl too. Boys seem not to be modest, as they open their legs to display their parts with no problems. Bev, from our "Over 40 site", just found out that she is having a boy and once again, he opened his legs without hesitation. I've been using a lotion that has cocoa butter, shea butter, etc and so far have not gotten any stretch marks. However, it is still very early for me, so I still could get them.

Rileydee: Welcome to the 2nd trimester site!!

Well, I'd better get off of here, as I have an 11:00 class.

Take care all,
Tammy

Hey ladies,
Jo- I definately have a great family. I am very fortunate. My sister is amazing! Sorry to hear of your daughter's heartbreak. That too shall pass eh? You sound pretty lucky with all your girls too.

My boss is walking around here right now, hacking and sick with a cold. I wish he would go home. I do not want a cold right now. AHHHHH! I keep telling him to go home, but he won't listen.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!!

Good evening lovely ladies

28 weeks today - hurrah! I feel I've made a milestone, especially after last week....

Dr today went well - the wee man was not in breech today and was head down - although where he should be. Mind you - the pressure today is awful  I feel like I have something stuck between me when I walk and like he's going to drop at any moment  Does anyone else ever feel like that? The not so good news is that as I suspected, the good old piles have set in, but as they're not too bad or majorly uncomfortable this week, no dodgy creams for me - yet... :? I'm waddling big time when I feel like this

Jo - yep, lots of Sam's stuff here, but it's in the loft, away from sight and not been touched... Out of sight, out of mind... not going to tempt fate and take some things down to wash - at least not until 35 weeks  (of course, even them I bet I won't do it... ). Glad you feel a bit better. You sound like you have your hands full with the girls - what do they think about the new arrival? Well done for even attempting shopping - I hate it at the best of times, but even more so now. It's a nightmare as I have 2 pairs of trousers for school and one pair is not agreeing with me where the waistband is - seems like I needs waistbands up to my chest only...

Kareen - a fellow Scot :P Where are yo from??? BH's - it sounds like them - they can fairly stop you in your tracks eh??? OF COURSE the weight will drop off... You're probably eating better at 4 meals a day anyway - unless they're 4 corkers  LOL LOL

Tammy - long time, no speak. How are you? I LONG wierd cravings, but it's just not happening...LOL. You should get to the dr if you can't shift that cough...

Vita - welcome back. You'll soon be as addicted as ever again  3hrs for the scan - well done you!

Hope everyone is great. Take care all
