My twins arrived early!!!

Post by kristiA »

Hi all! Since I'm active on a few threads I thought I'd post this here insteaed of writing the same thing on each thread.

OH my gosh...I'm a mom!!! 6.5 weeks early! My twin boys are healthy and doing great. The pain I had on Friday turned out to be two things. One, labor. The other, an "abrupsion" (where one of the plancentas broke away from the sac and was filled with blood clots. Thus, the bleeding & pain I had when I last posted on Friday night.

Chelle, ironically Baby B turned head down finally. Can you believe that? Well, because of the abrupsion they had to do an emergency c-section instead. I was screaming in pain, you couldn't even touch my abdomen. It was a rough few hours.

So I was 33 4/7 weeks along and the babies were so big for that early! Tyler Mason weighted 5 lbs 3 oz and 19 inches long! Brady Ryan weighted 4 lbs 10 ozs and 18 inches long! They didn't need any medical assistance at all, but they are in NICU since they were so early.

I just got home from the hospital..writing you right away. I was dying to post while in the hospital, but didn't have computer access. I'm sore from the C-section, but pain killers are helping. The boys may get to come home in the next few days already! Breastfeeding is going well. I'm completely exhausted though! Not a spare minute while in the hospital.

The boys are so darn cute! One has dark brown hair. The other has blonde hair. Their personalities are different and are just like I thought they would be given how they were in my tummy.

It's such a miracle, I can't believe it. I've shed several tears today...not sure if that's from exhaustion, lack of sleep, leaving the babies, or hormones. Probably all of that!

It's been so great sharing this experience with you all. I can't wait to hear as each of you 3rd T'rs, Oct due dates & double troubler's all have your babies too! I read Chelle is getting induced today. This is so exciting!!! I'll be in touch to give regular updates and will post pics on photobucket when I can get to it.

Love to all....
