1 IVF procedure takes 2 months to complete from what I've ready. They start your lupron on cd21 of the first month.

I now work as a consultant for a health system in my area part time. I was working 60 hours per week for them as a financial admin, got tired of it, took time from my family so I went to a contract basis. And I love it. There's no way I could be doing these procedures with that 60 hr/wk job....

That sounds like a good idea keeping your feet up on your next IUI.

Ahh-i see. I've heard a lot of people on the lupron. I took it for my endo but at that time i wasn't ttc. i am so anxious for monday so i can talk to the RE.

I was a RN in the OR but switched jobs to work fro some pain doctors. It is a lot less stressful and they really work with my doctors appts. There was no way I could go to all these appts. with my old job either. I wasn't expecting all of this when I took the job but it has really worked out well.

Let me know how your visit goes!

I just got back. We are going to do clomid 3-7, gonal f 8-12, ovidrel then iui. whew. I asked what my problem was and he said some people are just inefficient at getting prego. That makes me feel good. HA We are also going to wash the sperm in some peptide. It is experimental but its supposed to make the good ones swim faster. I hope all this works. I'm waiting to see if the insurance will pay for the gonal f. They have been payingfor the meds.

When do you go to the RE?

I don't go back to my RE until Oct 11th, when I start the Lupron. They're supposed to teach me that day how to do the injections (fun, fun). So, now just the wait again....

That's great that your ins is paying for your meds. My ins doesn't on most of them. So, far they have paid for the Lupron and prog medication. I guess that's better than nothing. I assume the only reason they are paying for these is because these meds are used for other medical problems. What day will your IUI be on?

What does the Lupron do? What is the process for IVF? I took it to try to help with my endo before we were ttc. It didn't help.

I go Sunday for a U/S. Then I will take gonal f for 4 days. I go for my IUI sometime towards the end of next week. Have you heard of any experiment where they put the sperm in a peptide before they inject it in you. My RE was telling me about it. Supposedly the uterus is supposed to have this peptide and some don't. So they put the sperm in it and it is supposed to make the good sperm swim faster. I guess I will try it. It's another $100. I guess anything to make the spermies get there.

I make my DH give me the shot. I made the mistake of acting like it didn't hurt when he gave me the ovidrel. He said I couldn't have really gotten away with a lot if I had said it hurt. Now I Ouch a lot and act like he is hurting me. It doesn't work though since he knows better. Man, if only I had known. I could have used that for all it was worth. HEHE

The Lupron is supposed to suppress your system, take it down so that you don't ovulate when it's time to start stims. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong). Did you have any side effects while taking it?

I read where someone is going to try the peptite on this board but my clinic never mentioned it to me when I was doing the IUI's. Hey, if it will help, I'm all for it. Maybe post a new thread asking about it?

I'll have to remember to "OUCH" when DH gives me the shots. :)

I don't recall that I had any major side effects from Lupron. I think I might have had a little bit of hot flashes and maybe some moodiness. How long do you take it? Then what do you take for stimming? I haven't really researched the IVF process if you can't tell.

Do you remember where they were talking about the experiment? I posted a question about it but didn't get really any response.

The Lupron? I take it for about 2 weeks I think but I'll find out more at my next visit to the clinic on Oct 11th. Then I start the gonadotropin injections to stimulate my ovaries. I can't remember the brand name. Then the HCG shot and then the prog oil injections. Fun, fun....

Sorry, I can't remember where I read about the peptide. I can't seem to find much out on the web about it either. Does your clinic have a brochure about it?

You doing ok?

No I wish they did. I just like to read about these things. I went for an U/S yesterday cd8. It was sort of depressing. I only had one follie at 16 then several at 12. I am hoping it is just that is early. I started gonal f last night. Ouch! That stuff hurts. I go back Wed. for another U/S and IUI maybe Friday.

cd8 is still really early yet. If you have them at 12 & 16 now, they should be big enough in a few days. don't worry

Well, the U/S went well. The docotr seems optimistic that this is a good cycle. I have 3 good follies. They are 23, 18, 16. I have some 12-13 but he said they probably wouldn't release. They drew an LH level and will call me and tell me when to come in for IUI. He said my linig was good at 8.8.

I hope this one is it! He sounded so poitive it is hard not to get my hopes up real high.
