REPRONEX???

Post by stillhopeful »

Hi all. I am brand new to this site and don't know all of the abbreviations and lingo, so please bear with me. Unfortunately I am not new to the BFN  and have done many cycles of clomid, multiple IUIs, blood tests, postcoital tests, and most recently laparoscopy, which my doc said produced results of mild-moderate endometriosis. I tried on my own this 1st month after surgery and another BFN. I've been trying for 2 years now, and at this point I'd be more surprised to see a positive HPT than an alien-filled UFO land in my driveway. My next step is repronex, but I'm scared. Please give me any and all info. that you can on the shots, where to put them and the pain involved, the side effects, and whether or not it's essential to combine the REPRO with IUI or if it can be used on its own. I'm a cash paying patient, so this whole thing is getting ridiculously expensive. Also, any results + or - with the drug, I would appreciate hearing about. Thank you!!!

I used repronex for 2 cycles of IUI last year. We unfortnetly didnt' get pg however that is to due to my tube problem not the drugs we later found out. Repronex is a subQ shot being it goes just under the skin. I did my shots in my thieghs--swithing from thiegh to theigh. I did feel a bit of a burn while injecting the med---nothing real bad and it almost always left a red area on my leg afterward. I responed ok to the med--i believe i got 4-5 mature follies each time. As for if you can use it without iui---i really don't know that for sure. I suppose you probablly could and just do timed intercourse but with IUI they are doing half the job of the sperm for you plus washing it so only the "good" ones are allowed into the uterus so you have a better chance at getting pg. Sorry i probablly wasn't much help--good luck though. bridget
