Kristi - hope everything is ok, maybe you have had those babies as we have not heard anything?!
Mel - how is that lovely big baby of yours? Hope youare feeling well
Ahart - put your feet up whenever you can as it sounds like you have a heavy load on board. Hope you get a nice burst of energy again to get you through the last few weeks.
Charlie & Richard - good to hear your update. I hope those braxton's have eased off for you Charlie. I can fully sympathise with the pillows! My DH is thrreatening to sleep on the sofa but i hate it when he is not with me at night so he just has to put up with me hogging the bed
I have updated my countdown thread but to let you know on here i am now booked in for a c-section next week on thurs. 12th Oct! They were unable to get the baby into the natural birth position so it is still breech and they don't recommend i deliver naturally (size baby, no history etc). So only 10 days to go
Looking forward to hearing all your good news
Love Saraid

Hmm, keep checking in for our pal Kirsti and the silence would seem to say maybe things are all go! Hope all is well
Bella - youve finished work now right? Hope your enjoying the rest. Still have another 2 weeks but think I really should try and finish next week. Am feeling okay physically (other than the typical challenges of eathing, breathing, sleeping and walking with killer backache to boot!) but mentally really need that space to prepare for the birth and all.
Sue hope your tests keep coming back all clear.
Good luck Saraid, how exciting to have the date there! How big is your big baby? Am sure you posted details to me in another post, but would be keen to hear your situation and the decision they made to go elective. I have a feeling that baby of mine after being head down for the last 10 weeks had decided to turn around too! But won't know until see midwife later this week
Hope everyone else keeping well

I was hoping to see something from Kristi today, but I think you're all right....there may be 2 new boys on our thread!
Saraid - wow!!! a REAL countdown! How exciting!
Mel - have 3 days of work left (yay!!!). Still no replacement though, but have stopped worrying about that. Not my problem anymore....and my boss has known I was pregnant since I was 5 weeks. He knew about the IVF and everything. So, too bad, so sad.
I'm now getting to the uncomfortable stage of pregnancy! My back is killing me, I get cramps in my belly, and I am finding it difficult to believe that I will actually go into labour and have a baby! I know, I should be used to that idea by now, but sadly, still in shock.
We start our birth classes tonight, so very excited about that as DH hasn't been able to come to any hospital appointments, so it feels nice to have him involved in this now.
Oh, and midwife appointment last week was fine - she didn't seem to remember at all that we even had a conversation about a scan. Anyway, GP wrote me a referral for a scan next wek, so I get to see how the little munchkin is growing. Who knows Mel....I might be joining you on the big baby thread.
Hope everyone is well.....
Bella.

Kristi, Wrote a message on the other thread but wanted to say once again congratulations! Although I know many of us are close it still seems a shock to hear that someone's given birth! How exciting!
This really seems to be the tri for niggles. Most of us seem to be getting aches and pains - getting us ready for the "uncomfortable" pains of labour I guess (that's an understatement I know - it was intentional!)
I seem to be getting less and less time to log on so forgive me for not doing personals. I promise I'm reading everyone's updates - please keep them coming!
Went to see midwife yesterday. Baby is 2/5 engaged so despite getting more and more tummy aches it doesn't seem that s/he is ready to be born. I didn't want to go too far over my due date but looks like that could happen. Oh well - I'm sure it will happen when baby's ready!!!! No more appoinments for two weeks - when I'll be overdue. Then we'll start talking about inducement. I'm hoping that saying that will kick start things off! Not that I'm bored with the pregnancy or anything - I just don't want to clean the house again!!!!!
Anyway - today is apparently the last day of sunshine for a while so I'm going to try and get some winter pansies in. yes I know - house is clean so now I feel I should start on the garden! lol!
Hope all is well with everyone! Can't wait for more updates!

Again I stopped getting emails of posts!!! A lot going on and I can't believe how close things seem now!!! KristiA - Congratulations I hope your boys made a safe journey into the world and pray they are both doing fine!!! You will have to let us know and post some pics!
As for me I failed my 1 hour glucose test but passed the 3 hour glucose test which I am thankful for....My belly continues to expand but it looks to be a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks....Currently my cerclage is scheduled to come out at 37 weeks (just after thanksgiving) and at that point all bets are off and I could go at anytime - now if I can only make it to 37 weeks!!! My birthing class is this saturday - excited for that!

Wow things are starting to shake on this board! Krista started us all of....!!! It's so hard to believe that soon we'll all be making painful trips to the hospital to have our little ones....
As for me, last week was my last week of work - now I'm home on my mat leave....it feels so surreal actually waking up each morning and not having to get ready for work. I don't think the nesting has kicked in - so I think this baby is in here for the long haul. I have my weekly appt tomorrow so I'll ask my dr exactly how long overdue they induce....I really don't want induction so I'll be the one taking walks and drinking raspberry leaf tea if it comes to that. Every city is different in when they will induce...I hope my city allows 2 weeks - I think my little one will take advantage of it . I'm not impatient yet, I love my belly and I know I'll miss it!
Hope all of you are doing well - lets hear more updates
just as a tip grembarry
we heard that fresh pineapple is good for bringing on labour you should eat it just before it goes on the turn probably a day or 2 before you would normally throw it out
our little guy has made a move southwards recently, i have said ever since we first got pregnant that he would arrive on oct 15th and i still stand by that
its so exciting we got pretty much everything done now just waiting and waiting and oh yes i have just been reminded that i do need to wash every carpet in the house
which of course will be lots of fun
glad to see you are all doing well and congrats to kristia on the birth of your twins the first of the oct girls to give birth
take care all

There were a few factors to get me to an elective c-section. As you know the baby has been measuring ahead of the due date (HC now 363mm!) The baby is extended breech which is the best breech for a natural delivery but not for trying to turn.
As a 1st time mum i have no delivery history so they are unsure if i would labour easily or be able to birth a larger baby with ease. They like a breech labour to progress with no complications at all as they will not interfere with your labour, eg. they do not induce and if your contractions start to slow will not give the drug they normally do to keep things moving. Also they are unable to touch the baby physically until the head appears - this is because touch can trigger the breathing reflex.
If i went into labour naturally and it did not go according to the text book - ie. good strong contractions and progressing quickly they would more than likely have to do an emergency c-section. Once the obstertician went through the figures (out of every 12-14 c-secs done for breech 1 case would have had major problems in natural labour) it made the decision easy for me. The risk was too large to attempt a natural breech delivery. If this was my 2nd or 3rd child i believe i would feel differently, i would also know what my labour history was.
As your baby has been head down for so long it has got the ability to turn back head down. My baby is well and truly stuck! The uterus is too tight and with its legs extended finds it very difficult to do a forward or backward roll.
Fingers crossed your little one goes back head first for you.
Love Saraid

Hey everyone!!! I just posted an update on the thread I started about having the babies. So you can read that (main update is that the babies are coming home today!!!!).
I wanted to read up on all the happenings with all of you though too. Glad to hear everyone is still doing well.
I've realized that I've been over doing it the past few weeks...and even this week in the hospital I was over-doing it. Make sure you all get plenty of rest these last several weeks and make yourself take care of yourself. I didn't realize how important that was.
Now that I'm home I'll keep in better touch. Can't wait to hear about the happenings of everyone during these last stages!

OMG I remember when I was doing injections KristiA was doing her 2ww... So thats really an eye opener for me!
Congrats KristiA Im so excited for you! Im just in 28 weeks but really its just right behind you!
Jamato - Glad to see your doing well still! I failed my 1 hour test too.. What a pain in the rear that 3 hour test was.
LisaB - OMG yes 3rd trimester.. are we really allowed to be here??!!?? I still feel like an outsider easedropping. Like the Trimester police are going to come knocking on my door or something.
I had my Son at 34 weeks ( my waterbroke) no contractions.. So I am really interested to see what real labor is this time around. But what ever happends happends..
Big hugs to everyone!
And my Baby boy gets hiccups all day long.. and they are so close together.. Not like adult hiccups. I thought something was really wrong but it was just hiccups!
I can't believe the first of us has had her babies, it does make it seem so real. so glad everyone is ticking along nicely.
Im doing ok, i cant believe i have only got just over 5 weeks left and the nesting instinct has not kicked in yet, definately needs to soon as the house is a mess!!!
Kristi - hope all is going well now your all at home.
good luck to those due soon

Not really got any updates but wanted to pop on so you know I'm still here! One week today!!!! Well, that's due date anyway.
Just watched City Hospital and they bathed a newborn. She used shampoo on the baby's hair - I thought you shouldn't use products on newborns??? Any thoughts? I haven't bought any bath products? Thing is I'm not sure where I read that!!! I could just have made that up and now will have the stinkiest baby around!!!!!
Wow - not exactly a major issue considering everything that we could worry about but thats me at the moment. The little things are taking over (keeps the nerves at bay about labour etc. I guess!). Spent some time with male friends last night - all of whom had children and had an hilarious accounts of their partners labours. A bloke's perception is much different. I was in stiches! Was good to laugh and get a different view! Think it put dp at ease too!
Oh well - must go and get some bubble bath and shampoo now. Or should I? Decisions decisions!!!!
Talk soon!
