Hey, all, pretty funny, I just completed an IVF cycle at the same clinic in Bedford. Unfortunately, it was BFN today.
Good luck with the free cycle, and lots of sticky baby dust!

Tigergirl,

I am so sorry for your BFN...I never thought I would be here after my BFN - it was just too painful. I was so heartbroken. But for some reason we have to go thru things that in the end will make us better people I guess. That's the only way I can make sense out of all of this! God bless you - I hope your heart heals and soon you will be ready to try again.

HUGS,
Allison

I called the clinic because I should qualify. The nurse won't return my calls. How did you apply?

Good luck to you and keep us posted.

I just talked to the nurse. I may qualify. Woo-hoo I am definetely check into this if this cycle doesn't end up with a BFP. So what are you doing? This has given me some hope because I know we can't afford IVF on our own. I saw that you can't be on any infertility meds for a month. I hope they will let me just sit out a month if I don't get a BFP and then do the study.

Tiff,
That's cool that you might qualify. It's been a different experience but I went in today and I have one follie at 14 and the rest are at 8-10mm. And I am on only day 5 of my cycle! So weird! But I guess this new drug is working. I go back in Friday to do another E2 test and I think then they will lower my dosage. I have been on 200ml for 5 days now. No wonder they are growing fast! I can already feel the pressure...I remember that from last time!
So hopefully all this weird paperwork and following study directions and rules will pay off in the end!
I hope you get a BFP and dont have to mess with this IVF anymore!
But at least if you have to there is a free alternative!! :)

Good luck sweety!

That is so cool your follies are doing good. What is the name of the med you are taking? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

You know I dont know what the name of this experimental drug is - Organon is the drug co. who is testing it.
You take this drug and Follistim - one of which is not the real thing but placebo. And you don't know which one you have taken til the whole study is done. Pretty crazy!
What they are doing is splitting the women up, half take the real thing, the other half are taking the Follistim. So they are testing the results of what is better, taking the new drug that is only 1 dose that is supposed to stim on its own for 7 days or the Follistim which you take daily.
My E2 was over 1000 yesterday - I am having no trouble responding that's for sure!
I think I got the new drug because I remember Follistim burning and kinda being irritated when I took it, this time it's nothing. So that's my opinion but I'll never know til its all over I guess!

Well, my appt today was good - Dr said my left ovary is almost completely full of follies! Most were measuring 15-17. So I think by Sunday I might be ready to go! How exciting!
Another cool thing happened...Tuesday my hydrosalphinx was back and the nurse that was doing the sono said "Whoa what is that?! I said I bet that's my tube - I had a hydro. last time. She said oh the study doesn't allow those...I'll try to keep it out of the pictures. It wasn't there when my Dr cleared me for the study but once I start stimming it swells up again. Anyway, I was kinda worried about it thinking they might cancel me out of the study just for that even though there is no worries about it leaking into the uterus - tube is totally blocked.
So I just prayed...God Your Will be done! What ever happens is meant to be!

Well today the Dr came into do sono and went to the left one first...I thought ok here we go. No hydrosalphinx...ladies I don't know what to say except that big thing was gone! I mean last time it looked so big, and now there was nothing. And he stayed over there for a long time! I was just blown away.
DH and I think this is just amazing and know it was our sign that God is in control!
So hopefully next week I will be ready for ER.
StefScott - how did your test go!?
