What clinics in Scotland test for NK cells?
Hi ladies. Do you know which clinics test for these killer cells? If yes do you know how much it costs. THanks Paula x.

Hi there my last NKC test was done in London, it had to be posted there and costs me £150 I am sorry I cannot be of any further assistance...GOOD LUCK! my levels were double the human average but I am taking dexamethasone steroids in this cycle, I have heard amazing things when this is used so..........fingers crossed!!

If you think you need to do this test then 150 pounds is nothing in the great price of the IVF cycle. I recently found that I needed the treatment for the NKC and am undergoing my embryo transfer today. Two days after egg collection I have started two injections a day of Heparin Leo and one day after egg collection I started taking Prednisolone.

Angelica please keep us posted how you do this cycle and I will do likewise - lets see if this stuff makes a difference!

Angellica - did your clinic refer you to the place in london for posting your blood. My clinic don't test for them. I might not have it but i'd hate to use all my embies without knowing i had them.
I read an interesting post from Ghost saying that in some people the resutls are high but in a few hours they came back down. I was looking at Zita West's site.
My last cycle was a BFP and a couldn't believe it. Unfortunately it wasn't for very long.

The clinic I attend doesn't test for it either they just arrange for the blood to be sent to London.....I can find out exactly where when I go for my baseline scan and let you know. As Ghost said the reults for this test can apparently change like the wind, and there are only a few research papers on this topic worldwide...I have been researching it for 2 years now and nothing I have found is concrete.... as of yet.

Well I had three embies in yesterday, my clinic grades them 1-5, although the nurse says she has never seen a 1 in her time. Day before transfer I had four 2's and four 2-'s, day of transfer I had one 2 and two 2-'s at 8 cells put in. (also ICSI and assisted hatching).
I am taking Zita West's advice and laying flat on my back for three days although my husband keeps muttering at me about milking the situation in a good humoured way. I take great satisfaction that in one of Zita West's comments there are three things you need to aid success, one a good quality embryo, two a thick womb lining and three no immunological reaction.
Since posting about the NKC I have learnt that perhaps it is not going to be the ultimate path to success, and probably for me it has been something concrete in finding something wrong that can be hopefully controlled. However, it has given me hope in the sense that my protocol is different this time with regards the medication and that I am feeling a little more on top of the situation instead of blindly following a plan and wondering why I am having such problems. I appreciate now my chances are probably not that highly increased but am very curious to see if after people have tested for these NKC and had treatment for it if it does elevate their chances. I also know that this study is in the very early stages of development and that the pioneer, I believe, Dr Baird, only died this year although his work is being continued.
