IVF question

DH and I want to start IVF. I'm wondering from all those who did IVF, how long was it from your pre-enrollment conference (enrolling in the program) to your first IVF cycle? We did IUI and tests about 2 years ago, so they will probably want to repeat them. I'm just wondering when we should schedule our consultation and begin the testing to get in the program if we want to begin in the Spring.

Jean, every clinic is different. Since you may have several tests to do prior to starting IVF, I would suggest to get started now. Some clinics have waiting lists. When you call, you may not get in for 2 months or more depending on how busy they are. I wish you the best!

My testing started in June and my transfer was done by July 4th. It took a little over a month from start to finish.

Jovigal, Just wanted to have someone to talk with. I think I saw you begin your Lupron soon, and i live in Western North Carolina and saw you live in Tn and we probably dont live that far apart.

Hey jamieandduanne! Yes, I start my Lupron actually tomorrow. I'm so excited to get going with this. I go to the clinic tomorrow to get trained on how to do the injections...fun, fun...

I go to a clinic in Johson City called "C.A.R.S." I believe they have a satelite office in NC. I live about 40 minutes away from the clinic in the "Tri cities". Are you starting an IVF cycle soon?

Jovigal, How neat my husband and i go to cars. We will be having the retrieval in Johnson City. Its a small world. I began my lupron on 10-08-06, the retrieval should be around the first of November. I'm so nervous.

Wow, this is a small world!!! Which doc do you see? Dr. T or Dr. K? I'm seeing Dr. K. I'm nervous also but so ready for it. I've had 2 IUI's already and this is my first IVF. RE wanted me to do one more IUI but I said we were ready to get agressive and move to IVF. We have male factor issues so I don't believe IUI would have ever worked for us.

We see Dr. T. We had iui done in september, and just wanted to get on with it. Ours is also male factor. My dh had vas reversal in January and he has a low count, also through all of this found that i have pcos to some degree.
