So I had my dr appt yesterday. Up until now - my cervix has been shut tight - baby hadn't move down and no progress was made. Well, yesterday he checked me and I'm 2 - 3 cm dilated and the cervix is nice and soft. He seemed to think it could happen at any time - he wouldn't be surprised if it were soon! YIKES!!!!!!!!! So yeah, nesting is definitely starting to kick in - more out of necessity than any inner drive though...hehe...!
But I had a good talk with my doula yesterday and I feel calm and ready. The doctor said if nothing happens by next Wednesday he'll meet me at the hospital and do a membrane sweep and talk about when we'd induce (if it comes down to that).
That's the update on me.....Sounds like everyone else is doing well! Congratulations on bringing the twins home Kristi!!!!!!
can I join you? I am just coming into the third trimester and can't quite believe it.
can I ask everyone a personal question? I had some bleeding on monday and got checked out at the hospital, everything was fine. However, one of the checks they did was like an internal to look at my cervix to see where the bleeding is coming from. They used a speculum like they use for a smear test. I normally tolerate this fine but I nearly went through the roof. I almost kicked the doctor to stop him carrying on! It was unbearable. When I asked if this is normally more uncomfortable when pregnant, he said no. my midwife said the same thing. However my sister said she once had a similar experience when she was pregnant?
has anyone else had this kind of pain with any kind of internal exam?
I just need to know I am normal!
We are just moving right along - seems to be going quickly and the anticpation is awesome!!! I just filled out paperwork for my maternity disability claim!!!
Danie/Lisa - my buddies - I know just what you mean no sooner are we thinking wow we are really here - next we will be talking about how much there is still to do!!!
Grembarry how exciting!!!
As for not using products on newborns - stick to the products specially formulated for newborns - I think the concern is more about what you baby may be sensitive or allergic too - but if you try nothing you put your child at risk for being sensitive to everything!!! I think its ok if you are using baby soap and not regular adult stuff!!! I just can't use no soap if the baby needs a bath after a messy diaper - I won't feel like he is clean!

Hello all you really really nearly mummies (well technically you already are but you know what I mean!)
I've always used baby bath on my girls and have never been told not to. The smell of your baby once they have been bathed and had their hair washed is probably the nicest one in the world and one you will never forget! As Jamato said as long as it's the products for newborns. My last two were 5 weeks early and in special care they used Johnson's Baby Bath on them so it can't be that bad for them.
Hi Terri, I'm sorry you are having a rough time. I had bleeding a couple of weeks ago and had to have the speculum used also. I found it so uncomfortable and painful. I had to do my labour breathing to get through it! I think you are very sensitive down there when you are pregnant, you are also quite swollen so I would think you are completely normal.
Best of luck to you all, looking forward to seeing the baby pictures on photobucket!
Take care
Jo

Me 35 DH 37 1st IVF ET 27 June - BFP!!!!
Ellie was born on 11 December 2006, 14 weeks early!
Morning all (actually it's nearly afternoon!). Just had my 3rd breakfast of the day (lol!) - am starving all the time still. Before I've even finished something to eat I'm thinking about what I can have next!
Bought some fresh pineapple so will be munching on that now to see if it does any good!
How is everyone today? I really feel like I'm not able to keep up with everyone's news. Just don't seem to have the time I used to to log on. So sorry about that - I'm an avid reader of the thread!!!
UK girls - anyone going to watch "birth night" on channel 5 tonight? I'm in 2 minds - part of me thinks I ought to but the other part thinks that to be honest I don't really want to see anyone else going through labour. They are all so different I don't want to have any pre-conceived ideas? I was there when my sister gave birth - albeit 15 years ago - so I do have that experience. What's your thoughts?
Anyway - "The match" is on sky and as a mad footie fan (both dp and I) I think that may win over birth night. I know that dp really isn't keen!!! Thinking about it I may tape it so I can then fast forward thebits I don't want to watch!!
Right - banana smoothie is calling me. I LOVE my smoothie maker - Fresh milk and fruit - yum!!!!!
Happy Sunday!

I have to Share my Strange Dream with you all.. Its very weird...
I have had weird dreams almost every night since getting pregnant but this is the strangest...
I dreamed that the 2nd egg.. the one that didn't develop into a baby really did devolop.. We just couldn't see her because the boy baby was so large. It was a girl and she was very tiny almost the size of my thumb when my son was born at regular time and regular size. I had to keep her in a fish aquarium because she was so small.. And i would squirt breast milk into the tank every couple hours so she could eat too. The cat kept trying to get her because he thought she was a mouse or something..
Hee hee, Danielle that makes me chuckle .... yes thats weird and err no I haven't had any dreams that weird myself! How sweet though, a little thumbelina goldfish baby! I did dream several times that I ended up getting pregnant AGAIN with number 2 whilst still being pregnant with number 1!! Wishful thinking huh!!!
Wow Kirsty has made the big leap!! First off the cliff hey! And a whole bunch of us piling up behind her!! Kirsti - if your still popping in, then I hope all is well, will catch up with you on your twins are here thread.
Danielle, Terri, etc, nice to welcome all the new third tri bumpers, but it makes me nervous that am one of the ones being shunted over a little closer to the cliff edge!!
Charlie, Gregmbarry, Cla and Saraid, just round the corner for you guys it seems!
Saraid, apparently my baby hasn't moved at all! Head still snug as a bug, but the movements were so big must have been getting ahead of myself and imagining somersaults! Also midwife says the baby has slowed down growth spurt, so all of a sudden it seems to be measuring more average for dates. I hope the C-section goes well, I would definately have gone for the same thing. But back I guess to waiting on when bub decides to make an apperance.
Bella hope your well and truly enjoying the hols now.
Sue - hope you going well. I think I must have finally had an early attack of nesting and have gone ballistic washing every single thing I can lay my hands on, and have lost the plot with poor DH a few times for not moving his crap! Am also hunting around for professional carpet cleaners to clean the carpets.
hello to everyone else too.
On a non related note, a wee tip I picked up for people who 1) have cats which are 2) obsessed with baskets and boxes and 3) likely to jump all over the baby, I heard that putting balloons in moses baskets and cots before the baby arrives is good to scare them away and have them hating the cot etc.
I think decided on possible name for baby too, Sophia (or Sophie) Ela Rennie. Decided to go with less unusual and quiet name in the end, although of course, still have to have the whole name conversation with DH ... once baby is here!
Hope you guys all keeping well and making most of last few weeks. Can't remember who posted same sentiment, but am going to miss my baby belly too! Sorry for longish post and whittering, I think it might be the nerves!
Take care all
Mel

Our little one was born on October 4th... a BOY weighing in at 6 pounds 6 ounces and 19 inches long. The delivery was a nightmare, but he turned out perfectly safe, happy, and healthy. I don't want to post to many details here for those of you wanting to keep happy thoughts of your impending deliveries. I wish you all the best and will post more on a different thread, perhaps.
Congratulations honey!! I am so pleased your litttle boy has made it safely into the world. Take care of yourself and try to get lots of rest in between all those feeds!
Love Saraid

Oh, I forgot to tell you his name. It is Hendricks Raymond. The first name is a family name on my side, and Raymond is on his daddy's side. We call him "Henry" for short or somtimes just "H"... his daddy's nickname is "T" (short for Tony). He is just beautiful and perfect. He has been so easy. We haven't figured out breastfeeding yet because we were delayed for 3 days while I was in intensive care, but we are working at it and he is soooooooo patient with it! I think my milk is finally coming in which is good because the docs thought it could be a couple of weeks after all that my body went through.
It is exciting to read about Kristi's twins! Good for them! What an ordeal she went though. But... again, just having healthy babies is great!.
Can't wait to hear from the rest of you as your little one's arrive.
