Sadmommy...thinking of you. I hope all goes well on Thursday and you get great news.
I had an emotional day yesterday. I had one huge cramp on my left side that got worse with time. I had been painting a small bathroom :? all weekend and wasn't sure if I pulled a muscle or if something was wrong with the babies. So, of course, I freaked out. We went to the dr who said my uterus is closed and she could see nothing wrong. Her diagnosis is 'growing pains' in that my everything is shuffling around and growing quickly due to having twins. For reassurance, I got a scan. OH MY GOODNESS! They were so big and just dancing away in there. I haven't seen them in a month and DH hasn't seen them in almost two. I can't believe how they've grown. Dr says they are 2 inches each now and measuring perfect for their age and compared to each other. While I am still having the cramp (made for a rough night's sleep) I am so relieved to have seen their perfectly formed little bodies.
Only 11 weeks tomorrow and I am becoming increasing uncomfortable. This is going to be a long haul for me. At lease I'm not sickk and the fatigue is passing but I already gained 5 pounds since last month when I saw the doctor  . Oh well, what do you do?
Thanks for the tips about the sharps container. I'll start checking the phone book. Lucyluna, it was freeing to get rid of that stuff! I didn't throw away any unopened meds or needles as I am going to find someone who needs them (may give them to the clinic) once I feel that I won't need them anymore.
Have a good few days everyone and we'll chat soon!

Wow, Dione, that is so cool. 2 inchs each? That is really neat. My neighbor told me she had an ultrasound at 12 weeks and the baby was bouncing around and fully formed. It is so hard to imagine since my last scan hardly had nubs for arms and legs. Sorry to hear about your cramp. You know, the large intestines are on the left side and they are so different now that you are pregnant. Keep a close eye on your cramp, just in case. I know that (sorry... TMI) if you are constipated it can cause sharp pains on that side. It sound like it could be that or it could be a muscle from the painting.

Congrats on the new baby viewing, and take care.

Sadmommy - Oh gosh, how nervewracking. I hope Thursday goes well for you. I am sure it will be a long 36 hours between now and then. I remember reading more than one post from people who saw NO heartbeat in the neighborhood of 6 weeks and who then went back a week later and saw one so it seems like there is definitely a lot of reason to be hopeful. I also have an appointment on Thursday so am counting down the hours too. I'll be thinking of you. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted in awhile so I've got an update. I had my first scan at 6 weeks, and we saw two sacs with two strong heartbeats! My next scan is next week, at 8 weeks. The RE said to limit who I tell about the twins until fater this next appointment. I pray they are both still there next week. I've always dreamed of twins--my mom is a twin and these two are due on her birthday! Better still, their sign will be Gemini-the sign of twins!

I still haven't felt major symptoms other than sore boobs and minor cramping. At first I was eating a lot more than I normally would, but last week food stopped being appealing, even though I'm not really nauseated. I had a few minor waves of nausea, but they go away before I'm really at risk of needing to run to the bathroom. Anybody else out there with twins feeling lucky with little to no morning sickness? My RE said he was surprised I wasn't sicker given my high hormone levels. I just hope all is okay.

Wow Twins.... that's great news! Also great news that you don't have any morning sickness. We have our first can next week Friday and we're both so excited. Is it Friday the 20th yet????? :?

Back from my OB office appointment, and, in spite of some initial alarm, it went well. I am now 11 weeks 2 days and so they decided to try to find the heartbeat with a Doppler - she moved it around and around and around and could only find my heartbeat, not the baby's. I was totally freaking out as I was really nervous about this appointment. She then said that maybe because I still have some fluid in my abdomen from OHSS and have a tilted uterus they couldn't hear it so wanted so send me for an ultrasound. I felt like I was going to burst into tears. Thes she felt my uterus and said that it seemed higher than she would have expected at 11 weeks so looked for the heartbeat a little higher and was able to find it! It was somewhere in the 170s. So I am relieved and am a little closer to being out of the scary first trimester. Next appointment is October 25th for a nuchal fold screening and a 13 week ultrasound. Another two weeks on pins and needles but I am relaxing about it, little by little!
Sadmommy, how did your appointment go today?

Claudia- I'm so happy for you that you were able to hear a heartbeat today.... I'm sure that put your mind at ease. I hear ya about being in the scary 1st trimester. We have our first scan next week Friday.... however, I keep having these dreams (actually nightmares) that I'm not pregnant anymore... so I had to stop at the store last night and get a HPT (thankfully it came back positive).

Good luck with everything and keep us posted for sure.

hey thook! im a bit scared about coming over here already as im doing that "it can't be true" thing. my clinic don't do blood tests to confirm so i have got to wait till 2/11 when we'll have a scan to be sure all is ok. next week we are going to greece on holiday and although i really need the break, im a bit worried about flying so early on. what do you think? anyone else? i can't wait to start feelng sick as at least it will be a sign that this is really happening.
hello everyone else on this thread. i'll hopefully be around to catch up on all your news. is anyone else feeling obsessive, paranoid, emotional, got cramps and feeling panicky blah blah. i only found out today! what am i gonna be like further down the road????

Welcome Gina.... I know what you mean about being scared about coming to this board to early, but I look at it this way. If something were to happen (for god's sake) at least there are people here to help you through everything.

Well I'm sure you'll be doing HPT's until 11/2 then.... I actually did one last night just because I was having terrible nightmares so I needed to reassure myself that everything was still ok.

Well have a great time on your vacation.... as far as flying goes I'm not sure what the rule is. Maybe someone else can lend some advice....

Look forward to talking with you soon...

Gina - I had my IVF done in Brazil and flew to the US 3 days after the transfer. Then about 5 weeks later (at around 8 weeks) I flew back to Brazil for a week and then back to the US, then later that week across the country. Hate to say this so soon but it doesn't seem to have caused any harm.

Can I join you ladies? I had my BFP on Tuesday. My HCG levels are 412 12dp3dt and 844 14dp3dt, so there is a good chance twins. I had two 8 cell embies replaced. My first scan is Oct. 31 :-) So it will be a trick or treat :-)

Hey thook are you hoping for a single or twins? I will be looking forward to hearing you first scan results :-)
