Hya Jo, Thanks for your message. Can I ask you whether how/if they altered your dosage after your first abandoned tmt? Hi Nicky. I think it was probably because of my age (36) that I needed a stronger dose of the follicle stimulating drug (it was Puregon that didnt work for me at a dosage of 150) They changed me from Puregon the second time to something called Menopur which apparently is a "natural" hormone (made from the urine of menopausal women - lovely!) and the dosage for me was 375, or 5 ampoules injected each day. There are so many different names for the drugs, but the natural ones were actually cheaper than the synthetic (puregon) by about £300. I really hope they sort you out - I suppose its a bit trial & error with drugs - they daren't make the dosage too high to start with in case you over-stimulate which can be really dangerous. Hya Jo, I saw my consultant this afternoon and had a good chat. I expressed my concerns, and she (! - female doc. for a change) completely understood. As she is the senior registrar, she did refer upwards, and we have come to an agreement whereby I may be on 225 if my FSH is 8 or lower. It has been 7 in the past but you know, age and all that (38 - just) anything could change. If it is more than 8 then I'll get the full blown 300. Yikes. All that said and done, it is great to hear from others in the same pickle, it is reassuring. Thanks again, Nickyx
