TODAY SHOW AIRS SEGMENT ON INFERTILITY AND SURROGATE BIRTHS

Post by santoki »

Hello everyone...

The Today Show is airing a short documentary tomorrow (thursday, October 12th, 8:09 AM) about surrogate pregnancies and the struggles of infertile couples. It's pretty powerful stuff, and we are trying to get the word out to as many people as we possibly can.

Like a lot of television news programs, the Today Show is trying to reinvent itself at the moment, and this short documentary is part of an ongoing effort to deliver more in-depth and thoughtful coverage of issues and stories that matter to viewers.

We're hoping that tomorrow's segment reaches a lot of people and really hits home. If it generates a lot of feedback and reactions, then, we'll follow up with additional coverage of infertility issues in the coming weeks.

At any rate, I thought I'd drop everyone a line in hopes that people will tune in and pass the word along.

If your moved by what you see, or want to share your own story, please contact the Today Show at the following address and let us know what you think:

today@nbc.com

Hopefully, this is just the first of several programs that really grapple with the challenges facing couples today. Many thanks in advance.

Sincerely,

Grace Kahng

i think its a wonderful idea.
I don't know how many of the lady's form UK saw a show that was on few years ago that followed couples through the whole infertility process its was great it not only dealt with the mechanics of infertility but showed the emotional ride we all take with it and the effect on familys.
i know it would be great for me if there was something i could get my In Laws to watch that might explain the process because as it stands every time we come back from an appointment they call and ask if we are pregnant...LOL...bless them.... but that just shows how little understanding there is for what we all go through.
its a great start

I agree with you Aunty, people should know, my In laws have no idea what we are, and ,me in particular, are going thru at all. MY father in law actually refered to IVF whole process as not a big deal. I was so mad I almost bite my tongue not to say anything to him.

I wish my in-laws watched it too. My father-in-law has no clue and my mother-in-law still doesn't understand why i need all these shots if the problem is not in me. When I told her that I need to take BC she was totally surprised. I had to email articles to my friends, so they get some idea what i'm doing.
