Thanks Vicky. Just can't believe we'll be so lucky again but there doesn't seem to be any reason to the BFP or BFN's.

Looks like we'll be having treatment at roughly the same time so looking forward to shring it with you. Wish I found this board first time round as was pretty naive.

Hi Vicki,

My practice Et was Ok. Not too pleasant. I almost passed out after. The Dr and nurse at my office are great. That really makes a difference. For the real ET I get to take a valium. That should help make the experience more pleasant.

Talk to you later,

Wow, there is so much happenning on this board - I am struggling to keep up with it all. But it is really nice to read about the progress everyone is making.

Jovigal - I am so sorry about your hiccup but it sounds as though your RE is really on to it and careful, which is great- I am sure the cyst will resolve itself and you will be back on track. It is so traumatic getting to the actual decision to do IVF, once you decide to go ahead it seems like cruel puishment to be sidetracked even slightly.

Erin - a big bummer, but I agree with everyone's comments - better to be in the best possible health before you begin- I can imagine how frustrating it must be though.

Welcome to Karla and Vicki and Casey- we seem to have a great community here, I am sure you will find the support very encouraging - fingers crossed for you all. Karla - are you a Kiwi? You are a long way from home?

I had a sonogram yesterday (for RE to meet uterus) - he saw no fibroids and is happy for me to proceed. Every test every checkup feels like a huge exam... there are so many steps in this journey...arghhh
Have a great evening

I have a question, I am starting Lupron this Sunday (10/15), I was not told much about it, I just left a message to the IVF nurse so she can call me and teach me a little bit more, but in the meanwhile, I wanted to ask you guys since most of you know a lot about all this. I am going to be giving myself 10 units, that means filling the syringe how many ml????, also, do I give it at night or in the morning???......helllpppppppp

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to drop in and say a quick hi. I am really starting to lose track of this thread it is really hard to keep up with all that is going on.

Sara, Thanks for the kind words. I really think I am starting to come to terms with what needs to be done and I so badly want this to be a succuessful process so I need to take the advice of the RE and do what is right for me and my baby that I am sure I will be having!

Hopeful, Hope you blood work goes OK and you can start those BCP to get pg (who would have guessed you would be given BCP to help with this process)

I have a question; my RE the other day said that he wants me off of the BCP's as he said that they were not needed for this process. Has anyone else not used BCP?

I know I have not mentioned everyone but I am still trying to catch up on all of the posts. Hope everyone is doing good and Baby Dust all around!! :D

I'm surprised they didn't tell you when to do it. I had a meeting with the nurse bofore my shots and she showed me how to do the shots and mix some meds. They also mailed me my schedule with the info how and when to do everything. If I were you, I would ask for an appointment today, so they can show you everything. I am supposed to do 5 units every morning between 6 and 8 am. If you do 10 units, you fill in the syringe, so the medicine is at level 10. Did they tell you what syringe to use? You hold the syringe with the needle up and than tap on it a little bit to remove all air bubbles. When you see a small drop of medicine, you are ready to inject. I put ice pack on the spot where I want to inject for about 1-3 minutes. It kinda numbs the area. Wipe the area with alcohol and let it dry because otherwise it will hurt a little bit when you inject. Grab some skin between two fingers and inject with 45-90 degree angle depending how much body fat you have. I was told that 90 degree is better. I was so afraid first time because I'm skinny. I went to the doctors office twice to make sure I can do 90 degree angle. :) I asked the nurse to pinch me to see if I have enough body fat. Ha-ha. I'm sure she thought I was crazy...I put ice-pack after the shot too. I hope it helps.

Oh forgot: sometimes to avoid air bubbles, I fill in the syringe with a little bit more Lupron than needed and while the syringe is still in the vial, I push on the syringe to reach the amount of Lupron that I need. Usually, after that I see the drop right away. No tapping needed.

Vicky - I think you have been given some great instructions (exactly how I would do it) but my advice is to chase the clinic nurse and get in and see her. It is so important that you are confident in all aspects of your meds - from timing, dosing and technique. Dont leave until you feel totally confident, ask them to do a saline test run as well. That means you get some practice in a safe environment. I am starting lupron this weekend too, will be thinking of you as I stab myself!.
