evening girls, gosh this thread has been busy in the last couple of days !

Malinka - hi don't think we've met before. Are you testing tomorrow? Oh I so hope its a bfp and you join us here. Fingers crossed for you.

Becky - hi hun, lovely to see you are popping in and checking up upon us... as you can see, we are being well behaved!! haven't caught up on the other threads yet - how did you get on Monday, I hope it was ok and real positive news for you.

I am so loving the tales of how to tell whether its a boy or girl, but to be honest I'm now dead confused... :? however it doesn't take much to confuse me at the moment! Although I have to ask, what if DH doesn't drink beer??? Mine is a cider/guiness drinker or most of the time wine.... what does that make mine...

Aunty I love the fact you're having a boy.... you've seen into the future and what next year will bring for you :D Congralations on the weight loss for this week, well done. :D

Zirly how are you feeling, still feeling a little under the weather.... your DR wouldn't allow you to take meds that may have an effect on your baby - it will be ok. Sending you hugs to make you feel better

Jo - you know what you;ve hit the nail on the head with your comments about the anitclimax. I was going into the clinic 3 times a week for 3 weeks and now they don't want to see me for 2w's... Don't get me wrong, I'm still on cloud 9 with my BFP but feel a little lost!

So far I have no sickness feelings (apart from when I'm hungry) and no other real symptons apart from my sore bb's (which I am still doing the daily test on ! :D ) It is taking such a long time for my scan to arrive, it is def worse than the 2ww! Thankfully the spotting stopped and had less aches.

Angela - good luck at the Dr's - quick question, has anyone else being referred back to their Drs. Wasn't sure if I should make an appt or wait until the clinic tells me to?? Not sure of the protocal. :? How is everything else going? What are you like being bored on your day off!!

Ang my buddy - sending warm hugs to you to take away that chill! We've been really lucky and having a very mild Oct so far, don't think it will last long. Thought NZ was susposed to be getting warm at this time of year or does it depend on where you are?

thats enough with my ramblings...
love to all

Hello ladies
Sorry I have been MIA. Work has been crazy busy...

Pebbles how cool that you get scanned and find out little boy or girl.. I can not wait for all that to happen...

Anglea
I am sure your scan will go well. I am like you with worries but it will go perfectly... It sounds like from the sickeness a girl is very possible on your horizion...

Zirly
Oh honey I am so sorry you have had such a rough time. It sounds like from what your docs say taking the meds are better for you and the baby.. Just try to take it easy honey and dont be too hard on yourself.

Malinka
Welcome and you will be here soon..

Welshgirl (Becky) how are you doing honey.. I have been so busy but I wanted to pop in and say hello to you.. Thinking of you honey..

Nimble
he he he I still do the sore BBS test daily too.. What people must think of us. I have also been refered back to my doc.. I was really surprised because at the last appointment they were like "we are done with you" I have my first ob appointment on the 17th with the nurse and the 19th with the doc for another scan.. I would call your clinic and ask them what they say.. I am glad your headaches have gotten better

Love and hugs

Hello, just popped on quickly to answer Nimble.

My clinic didn't refer me as such. They just said they didn't need to see me anymore after they did my second scan. I went to the doctors and told them I was pregnant, my due date etc. They then sent off the relevant forms to the hospital where I want to have the baby. This will set in the motions then of the midwife contacting you to arrange your booking in appointment which is usually around 10-14 weeks. You may also get a dating scan sent to you although they said I didn't need one as I had already had two scans with the clinic and we're pretty sure of the conception date!

The doctor also sends off the form which entitles you to free prescriptions and dental treatment. I'd definately make an appointment to see him. I'm sure he would already know about the IVF as most clinics to write and let them know what's going on.

The only thing my clinic recommended me doing was having the nuchal fold scan at around 13 weeks. It is a scan and a blood test. They meausre the fluid at the back of the baby's neck and put the measurements, your age and the results of the blood test into the computer and it gives you your risk of having a baby with downs syndrome and some other abormalities but this you do have to do privately. You can have the triple blood test on the NHS at 16 weeks but this is only 60% accurate whereas the nuchal fold is about 85%

I hope this helps.

Best wishes to you all

Jo

Hi Jo, thanks so much for the info, it is really useful. I did phone the clinic today and asked them about informing my GP and they said wait until I've had the scan on tuesday as they wanted to make sure everything was ok.

I know that they have written to my GP about my IVF but only as far as the ET, no comms since.

I'm starting to get nervous about the scan as just want to make sure that everything is ok.

right ladies, have any of you heard of this one.....my friend who is also pg and she said that i shouldn't wear underwire bras as it has something to do with the milk and stopping getting to the bb's!! This one is new to me... I may need all the support I can get in a few months, they've already grown !!

hugs & kisses

Hi Nimble

Yes your friend is absoultely right. No underwire during pregnancy. Marks and Spencer do a really comfortable maternity bra, it looks huge (or maybe that's just mine!) but it's so comfy and it comes in a pack of two, one white and one black. I went and got measured at 6 weeks and I'd already gone up two sizes!

Hope all goes well with the scan on Tuesday.

Jo

Hi girls,

I went to see the doctor yesterday and I have got an appointment with the midwife in 2 weeks time. They also gave me loads of information about all of the tests they will do. I don't think I want to do CVS or the ammio test as having got this far I don't want to do anything that could cause me to miscarry.

I had also heard about the no underwired bras thing. All of mine were getting a bit tight so I went out and bought 3 new ones. They look massive but are really commfy.

I will be so glad to get to Tuesday and see the scan. That was the point 10 years ago when I was told that the baby had no heartbeat and so I had miscarried. They said the baby was 7 weeks. It does make me think now that I have read loads of posts on here about not being able to see the heartbeat and then a few days later seeing it that the hospital were a bit hasty and should have done another scan a couple of days later. Still I guess they knew what they were doing. I saw the screen and there was definately no movement.

My GP was really excited to see me yesterday. The clinic had kept him informed upto ET and the freezing but no further and when I went in he said that he was excited to hear my news. I guess that they get some reward having seen us all the way through.

Well I had better sign off now
Angela

Anyway, for boy or girl. Right? In my country, If people say you look pretty in pregnancy so its a girl. When you look awful (of couse they won't say you look awful, they will say you look very tired) well its a boy.

Luv u All,

Hi Angela,

Hey it's great that you went to the see the GP yesterday and how exciting to start getting information, must make it a little more real. I know how you feel about the tests and I would be nervous too but will cross that bridge if I have to have them.

Can't imagine how it must have been all those years ago for you and not susprised about your fears. With all the symptons you have been having I'm sure you have a healthy little beanie in there growing. Did you actually have a scan yesterday? You're a week ahead of me so they are not likely to see any thing on my scan tuesday. Only 3 more days to scan days for us :D :D

Are you still having nausea?

Jemima - love your tales of boy/girl and can't wait to see you on our lists with a BFP. You've only 3 more sleeps to go and have my fingers crossed for you.

Hi Nimble

Yes I am still feeling very sick, I get a couple of batches of about half an hour each day when I feel alright. The appointment yesterday was with my GP and on Tuesday i am getting scanned at the clinic. Waiting for this scan is worse than the 2ww I am sure. I can't wait to see a heartbeat or two. My clinic seem to scan very late compared with the other girls on here. Then again they tested later as well, 16dp2dt so the embrios were 18 days old before the test.

Hi angela, agree with you on the 2ww for scan..... well if you're still getting sickness then I think that is very good sign that all is well with you and your little beanie :)

Perhaps your clinic is being cautious, it is so bizzare how they all differ but we are in the same country!

I hope your feeling better for the weekend.

Hi all

How are you all? I hope that you are all well. I haven't got much news today. I am still feeling sick and a bit anxious about the scan. Also I am running to the toilet very often and 3 times during each night. I keep telling myself that these are normal symptoms so everything must be alright. On Tuesday we will find out whether it is one or two. DH is convinced it is going to be twins, although I am not so sure.

Well I had better go to work now.

Take care
Angela
