Hi Guys, sorry I havn't been on board for a while - I have been reading your posts - but have been very busy at work and havn't had time to say Hi!

My history is I have had 3 failed IUI, 1 natural cycle ectopic, I natural cycle m/c and 1 failed IVF in July. I am due to start sniffing on 9th October (I can't believe how much faster things seem to be coming round this time).

Kathryn, when do you go in for your FET? Do you think time has flown by?

Lisa P, I also had headaches when I was sniffing - I took paracetamol and they seemed to do the trick. I did get really bloated when I was on stims and unfortunately it didn't go down for quite a while. I have only told a handful of people as well about the treatment - I don't mind people knowing - but it is just hard telling people if it doesn't work.

Frances, lucky you - 1 cup size bigger... hopefully that will happen to me this time - I have always wanted a C cup!!

Kate W, good to hear your follies are growing nicely. Good luck for Friday.

Traci, are you starting down regging around 9th?

Becky, sorry to hear that you are having to wait a few more weeks. Unfortunately our bodies work in funny ways - but time will go quickly and you will be stimming before you know it. I am a good few weeks behind most of the OCBs so we can keep each other company (and Traci).

Vicki B, good luck with your first injection tomorrow.

Alison B, good luck for your scan on Thursday and EC on Sunday.

Love to everyone.

Dolly

Hi guys

Thanks for all your encouragement - you're a great bunch. There are now 14 of us so what shall we call ourselves- fab 14? Welcome, frances and Bel.

Feeling a lot better today -profasi injection didn't hurt last night, which helped! Have come to terms with the fact that won't be stimming until mid-Oct at the earliest. I think the hardest thing about this all is the lack of control over your own body!!! Still, it means DH and I can have the long weekend we had been planning before my tmt was moved forward to Sept so there is a silver lining. we are going to cornwall on Friday.

Vickib - I did laugh when I saw your post re af turning up after a hot bath. it does work!! Great news that you're starting. Are you injecting buserlin or are you on a short protocol?

traci and Dolly- you're right, looks like we may be on 2ww wait together (x-fingers!!)Traci, do you sell your cards or is it just a fun hobby? do you use the computer to make them?

Kate W - best of luck for Friday and thanks for sharing your story re the stimming delay.same thing goes for you Grace, thanks.

bel - really hoping your surge turns up soon. you,ve had a horrible time. I had OHSS last cycle, lungs filled up with water ect but luckily didn't have blood clot. you deserve a big break. got all my fingers and toes crossed for you!!!

Helen G - didn't know a wedding was in store - congrats, buddy. have a fab day!!!

Cravings - has anyone else had cravings for certian things during tmt! maybe it was the general anaesthetic (warning - it definitely gives you the munchies) on Sat but Sat pm I HAD,just HAD to have ginger nuts (as in the biscuits, ladies. please!!!). I made dh stop at the garage to get some and ate half the packet!!!. Last cycle it was salt and vinegar crisps but that was whilst I had OHSS and the doctor said that was cos my body needed more salt (he caught me nibbling them from my locker when I was in hospital).

Also tidying stuff away!! is this a mother hen-type preparation instinct or what? In the past week have cleared out loads of cupboards plus the garden shed. Not normally like this!

Bloating/gaining weight - frances, I have definitely filled out in the stomach since starting sniffing buserlin and had put on 4 pounds in a week (before ginger nut episode!). hope this is the drugs. last cycle cos of ohss went up to 100+ cms round the waist -looked like I was 8 mths gone but did get rid of it pretty quickly.

ok shall sign off now - realise I am not writing a dissertation.
lots of hugs beckymxxxx
Hi fab 14!

Beckym, last time I had IVF I used the pen, but I am at a different clinic this time and they won't let me, so its the normal needle (not quite as nice!)
Hope you are feeling a bit brighter its awful when we get geared up for things and it changes, I hope everything goes well.
Congrats Helen, didn't realise you were tying the knot.
Hello Frances and Bel, welcome to the site.

Kathryn - briefly I have had 6 months of Zolodex injections for endo, then 6 months of Clomid, followed by 3 months of Gonal F injections. I was then transferred to the IVF waiting list, that was nearly 3 years ago. We paid privately for IVF in Feb and had a neg result. Now having our first NHS cycle of IVF, I am 32 DH 35 been trying for 7 years.

I wish the chat was working because it would be great to get on there and have a good chin wag.

Well to make me less stressful I start a new job tomorrow!!! Wish me luck! so hopefully it will be okay and I will get holiday when I need them as that is what I take for my hospital appointments.

Short note about alcohol,I am really naughty and still have a drink, I have cut right down but if a fancy a couple of glasses of wine I have them. I feel in the long run it helps me to relax.

Also boobs are growing by the day this time, did not notice anything last time, and every time I go to stab my tummy, that is also getting bigger.

Good luck to all, keep positive.
Love Lisa xxx

Hey there again chicks,
Is lovely to be part of the "October 14", thanks for making me feel welcome.
Can relate to bizarre food cravings,I went absolutely mad for fresh strawberries covered in icing sugar while I was on my IVF cycle. The hormones also made me quite emotional, was completely paranoid that my dh would die, sounds odd I know, but I used to wake him up through the night checking that he was still alive. He tolerated it all quite well to be truthful. My very very dear friend is also on IVF at the moment, we talked about this, and we related it to "nesting" hormones, 'casue I also did the hugest house clean up ever (we still can't find anything!!). Have to say, am v. keen for bigger boobs at some stage soon, have been an a cup always, am keen for some real cleavage (not necessarily related to a push up bra that is!!)
Had another blood test today, all is progressing well, still no LH surge though, so back for more on Friday morning.
Fingers and toes and everything crossed for you fab bunch..
B

Hi there, I didn't have any cravings but I was really emotional last time. I just wanted to tell everyone that I loved them all the time(well when I say everyone I mean family not strangers in the street!) and kept wanting cuddles.

When my sister had her first baby she went from an AA cup to a C and they didn't shrink back either.

Lisa, good luck with your new job tomorrow. You are very brave I don't think I could start a new job and go through all this as well.

Love

Dolly

Hi Girls

Wow 14 of us how fantastic.

Well first injection this morning was fine, think DH actually enjoyed playing doctor. Scan and bloods booked for 16th Oct.

Beckym - Glad to hear your feeling better, I know what you mean about the lack of control over your body. I’ve also cleaned out the shed and dug up my front lawn and replaced it with coloured gravel, I need low maintenance as all my time will be spent with the twins (I HOPE). I am injecting Buserlin then onto puregon using the gun, aiming for EC 27th Oct.

Lisa Ch hope your first day at work was OK- you brave girl.

AlisonP - Good luck for FET on Sunday. Hope you got a good supply of Percy Pigs, I love Percy Pig and Friends, the sheep are my favourite and I haven’t even been through the 2WW, just love food.

Belb - You have had a rough time, hope you serge soon.

Kathryn - My history is DH has testicular cancer at 25 which unfortunately spread to lymph nodes and lungs. The poor thing end up having so much chemo he was left sterile at 27 with little chance of his sperm count ever recovering. Luckily he banked and now has been clear nearly 3 yrs. I’m hoping I’m OK had basic tests but you never know. Are you having FET this weekend?

Traci - I love your faces where did you get them? Will you be indulging in a glass of wine this weekend. I know what you mean about the weaning programme I too cut down and now of course nothing. hmmmm wine.

Dolly - glad things have come round fast for you this time there is nothing worse than time dragging. Get those nostrils ready for the 9th.

LorraineG - Not long now till the 7th Hope everything goes well for EC/ET and the time is perfect for your half term.

Grace - have you had baseline scan?

Kate W - Good luck for EC on the 3th and ET on the 8th.

Helen G -Best wishes for Friday

Lisa P – I missed Dirty Den thats my Sunday treat East Enders with a full tummy of good old Sunday roast. I know what you mean about this site being addicted. I’ve spend hour of my suppose to be working day on it.

Frances J -I’ve only just had my first injection so no changes yet for me, with a bit of luck I will be put off food, apart from Percy of course.

Love to all my buddies Vicki XXXXXX
Hi everyone, just wanted to touch base quickly!

Glad to see you are all OK at the moment, things are OK with me though DH advises me that my 'rear end' is starting to look a little battle scarred!

Yes I go to Kings on the 7th, less than a week now, am trying NOT to get excited as Kings have an awful habit of delaying the next stages as they are always busy... Would not be surprised to be told that yes everything has gone well, all down regged etc etc BUT do not start stims for another two weeks as we can't scan until whenever...

Guess I will just have to wait and see...

Have a good week all of you,

Love and ++++++VE thoughts to all

Lorraine G

Hi everyone

Thanks Frances, I always feel a bit of an alco!!

Lisa P I injected into my leg when I was on Gonal F, then my tummy for the first IVF, tummy is without question the least painful (for me anyway because I have lots of it!!!) I did find it easier and rarely bruised when I used the pen, however, the manual way is okay but finding an unbruised bit is difficult, can't wait till i'm injecting 3 times a day!

Thanks for the good wishes, my first day went okay, a bit daunting all the new things but I am sure I will get there. Just hope I can keep my brain focused. When I applied for it I thought if I was successful it may give me something else to think about. I hope it does the trick.

Take care all
Love L x

Hi all

Welcome to Fran and Bel to the Fab 14.

Thanks so much to everyone for your best wishes for my EC tomorrow. I had a bit of a drama last night as went to inject my trigger and while trying to clear the air from the syringe, accidentally squirted about a quarter of it on the floor! I should have been more of an expert as have been injecting Gonal F into my tummy (I agree Lisa Ch - it's not really painful when there is a good layer of fat to protect you!) for 2 weeks but tired and stressed. I thought for a minute I had messed up my whole cycle however dropped in to the clinic this morning to be told not to have a worry in the world as they used to only give triggers of half the dose they give now. Big sigh of relief. There is always something to worry about in this process.

Kathryn, good luck for your FET on Saturday. I don't think it is strange at all that we all get a bit superstitious when we go through this. It is all due to the lack of control that we feel so I think we all develop our own methods to regain some remnant of control of the situation. Whether it works or not does not matter as long as it makes you feel better and helps you through the process. Thanks for the advice on the water. I will make sure I keep drinking. How does this help?

bel - good luck with your blood tests tomorrow. Fingers crossed there will be an LH surge and an FET to follow soon after. You have had such a rough time you deserve a break.

becky - I am so glad you are feeling better

alison - best of luck for the scan today. I have fingers crossed for you that everything is all on track for Sunday.

lisa ch - great news about the job. i hope it does the trick for you as well. it is so hard to know how to balance this process with trying to lead a normal life.

I must run off as it is getting late and I am still at work and have to be at the hospital first thing tomorrow. I will check in tomorrow or over the weekend to let ou know how things go.

Take care everyone
Love Kate

kate, the water is so you can avoid over hyper stimulating. It can make you really ill and even get you hospitalised. I ohs on my first go with having 52 follies! Its all about the empty follies filling up with fluid and then in the worst circumstance go onto your lungs.
since then Ive always drunk loads and loads of water!
and kate your story did make me chuckle about squriting the syringe!!!

hi dolly, just left a message for susi and nicola and told them we would be joining the old buddies soon along with kat!
my fet was going to be on sunday so its been brought forward rather than put back, which is great!
yeah, my friend thought that you shouldnt take aspirin as when you are pg your told not to take it as it maybe a cause for m/c?
so I dont know what to do. I took it last time then stopped because of what she said, then went on and m/c. but it seems to help in alot of the positive cases. think I will take it though......oh, I dont know!

catch up with everyone later!
kathryn
x
