Hello Ladies

I hope you are all doing well. Gina what you are feeling is completely normal. It comes with the pregnancy hormones - anxious, scared, obsessive etc. You will be getting cramps as your ovaries are still the size of gratefruits from all the meds you were taking. If the cramps get unbearable then you should go straight to A&E.

From what I understand flying is ok until week 34 or 35. Please don't pin too much on feeling sick. This is my 7th pregnancy and I've never had morning sickness!

Gina I'm sure your anxiousness etc will calm down after you've had your first scan.

Claudia I'm so happy your heard the heartbeat. Our midwives don't even bother to listen until week 14 as it can be difficult. Well done.

Thook wierd vivid dreams are all part of pregnancy as well I'm afraid. So in a way, they are a good sign!

Cowgirl congrtatulations, great numbers!

Sadmommy, I read on another thread that you'd lost the babies. I'm so sorry for you. There are no words but you and DH are in my thoughts.

Take care

Jo

Thanks PebblesUK. I have not had my first scan to confirm twins but the doc said he is pretty confident, there are two in there growing nicely, since my numbers are at the top of the scale for twins and doubled appropriately. So I went ahead and did my slider. :-)

I was on the October thread in the General area and thook was are first person to test and she got that nice big BFP so I am anxious to see how many she is cooking :-)

Hey thook, did you ever post your numbers? If you don't mind will you do it again? I must of missed it.

Happy Friday Ladies....

Welcome to this side of the boards Cowgirlclass.... hopefully we can bring some of the other girls over from the October Buddies Board by the end of the month!

I'm also curious to see how many are cooking inside of me too.... Here are my numbers (I was worried because they were kind of low, but everyone tells me that they are ok).

59 15dp5dt & 131 17dp5dt - me & DH would love to have twins, but we will be happy with whatever we get just as long as they are healthy.

Next Scan on Monday

Post by Emmie »

Jo,

Thanks for the encouraging words to us newbies to this side of the board. I had some cramps again last night--nothing too major--but it was enough to make me worry a little. My second scan is Monday, so I'm praying we will still see two strong heartbeats like we did at the first one.

Last night I watched The Office and a character mentioned how his mom had seen two embryos at her first ultrasound but the second embryo had disappeared by the second ultrasound. I turned the channel immediately--not the kind of thing I needed to be hearing!

Hi Emmie,

I too am having twins and felt little sign of pregnancy, that is until the end of week 8 when afternoon sickness started to kick in. I find getting accupuncture helped significantly to alleviate that. I've been having lots of twiches, particularly in the middle of the night when I'm awaken by wierd sensation/minor pulsating pains in my belly. This is not everynight but it makes sleeping through the entire night difficult. I figured since theres no bleeding or anything else untoward happening these can be ignore, right? Is anyone else having similar experience??

First Trimester

Post by mmitche »

:?: Hi, Congrats to all who are here. I am starting my 6th week today after IVF. We have been ttc for 6 and 1/2 years. I am 33 years old. I am extremely nervous. I have been having cramps all along. My doctors says this is normal and has done three seperate pregnancy tests on three different occasions. Each time the levels were so high that they suspect twins. I go in Thursday for my first ultrasound and the waiting is killing me. Does anyone else have cramps?

Hi Missy, Congrat! I am so excited for you. The cramps are perfectly normal, unless they are sharp or severe. I had them more in the first 6-8 weeks. The baby is nestling in and your uterus is expanding a bit to accomodate the new visitor(s). Mine felt like period discomfort. Not like the hardcore day one or two period, but regular weakness and crampiness. Everytime you go to the bathroom you expect to start your period, right?

If you have concerns, talk with your doctor. I look forward to hearing about your scan! My numbers were really high too, but there ended up being one baby. They say those strong numbers are good signs of a solid, healthy pregnancy.

Enjoy!

Hi Missy- I also just started my 6 weeks today.... how exciting to have someone going through this at the same time. We have our first scan this Friday... I can't wait to see how many little ones are inside and hopefully we'll be able to hear a heartbeat or two. I also have had some cramps.... and keep thinking I'm getting my period, but so far nothing, which is great! I just started feeling like crap (possibly morning sickness) over the weekend... this morning was really bad.

Keep us posted on your scan... can't wait to hear the good news!

Rittie, I took experienced what you described last week. I had horrendous sharp shooting pains on my left side. I went to the dr the first day I had them and was told that it was just my ligaments stretching. That was just the beginning! I went on, and got much worse, throughout the week. I was popping Tylenol like candy and even missed a day of work. It hurt to walk but mainly hurt to sit on the toilet because of the straight position. The nights were horrible...I would be awakened by a sharp jab and cry until DH would get me more Tylenol. Thankfully (after 5 days of it), it seems to have passed. I did not think I was going to survive. It is going to be a long 9 months...
I'll be 12 weeks on Wednesday. Yippee! To celebrate, I finally bought something for the babies. A pack of pampers and wipes and a few outfits, all in baby green and yellow. It is overwhelming to be buying baby stuff as it has gotten so expensive (my DD is 10) and I have found out that I am incredibly cheap. This is the month I start buying something each payday so that we are not overwhelmed when they get here. Hopefully we can at least take the edge off. That is, until we start car shopping (which DH is already doing). Yikes!
Hope all is well with everyone. Congrats to the new BFPs and welcome to this side!

Hi Dione,

Thank you for sharing your experience about having belly pains. My pains have been very mild, more like little pulses of sharp pain for an hour or two. I am curious why they always appear in the middle of the night making sleeping through difficult. I guess this is just the beginning of difficult sleeping as I imagine it'll be really hard to sleep when our bellies are big and round :-). Good for you for buying baby stuff. I'm still hesitating - I'll be having my next scan (2nd) on the 23rd Oct when I am 13 and half weeks. I hope everything will be alright and both babies are fine. Once we get that I'll need to head down the shops - like you say to celebrate :-) Good luck with getting the car, like our loft conversion, these babies better be grateful what mummy and daddy go through to accomodate them.

Lots of love
Rittie
