Hi ladies,

Hope everyone's in good spirit and doing well. We finally went away for a mini Italian holiday and we are both feeling so happy. I guess its good to get out before getting too big :-)

Yogi sweetie, I too had 2 days of mini cramp like feeling and a bit of browny discharge. I agree with Sam, its best to ignore it, avoid the temptation of a HPT which I think will only bring more stress. Be patient and wait for the professionals to test and break the good news. I have my fingures and toes crossed for you - the signs are SUPERB!!!

Alicia, so happy the ET went well. Good luck with the 2WW and remember what I've been banging on - have faith in your 2 super embbies, now let them be, give them space and some peace and quiet to grow grow grow. Good luck sweetie, do whatever you can to not think about it, rest as much as you can and keep the positivity up babe!

For the ladies considering accupunture, I do believe it helped me with my BFP so if it is viable financially, its worth a try. My accupunturist does not charge different prices for fertility or other treatments. Bascially, when I go we discuss the need for that session and he tackles it. I think the biggest value was increasing the blood flow to the womb to nourish the babies. I did have a session the day before ER and then the morning before and straight after ET. I've since been going once a week as its recommended to continue till week 12. I had never felt particularly relaxed during or after the sessions but I guess I just have a blind faith that this is good and I am doing everything I can to help with the babies. Silly maybe, but sometimes one just shouldn't think too much and get stuck into unanswerable ruts. Saying that, I only coped with my afternoon sickness because I had the accupuncture. My afternoon sickness literally goes away after a session to tackle it. I specially did a session to tackle the morning sickness before my recent holiday and felt absolutely fine.

Lots of love
Rittie

Happy Monday Everyone! Lola - Thanks for the update, as always, it looks great!

Good to hear from you Rittie and glad the acu is helping w/ the pm sickness. I believe my acu schedule is just as you describe - before ER and then one before and once after ET. DH is worried about the one after ET, since our RE is strict about the 3 days of bed rest and going home and laying down immediately after the ET. However, I think we might as well try something different and, as ghost points out, there's no evidence that bed rest helps (and in fact he says some studies show it might hurt.) Did you travel to your acupuncturist after the ET?

Myhb - thanks for the good wishes. I am going to start lupron, probably the end of this month. RE does about 10 days at 10 u per day and then down to 2.5 u per day during stims. My stim regimen is going to start more slowly this time and then ramp up (opposite of the usual routine) because my E2 level got high last time and they had to coast me for too many days (not good.)

Alicia - sending you all positive thoughts for a BFP very soon!

I agree that we should share our 'acupuncture protocols' to compare notes.

Sorry such a short post - off to work.

Have a great week!

Hi Ladies -

I have some bad news. I had a miscarriage which was confirmed today based on the results of my blood test :( :( :( .

I had taken a blood test while we were away and the results showed that my hcg level wasn't doubling as it should have. At that point, I was hoping that the lab somehow screwed up my test. However, a few days later when I started spotting, I called the clinic, they pretty much told me that I was having a miscarriage (based on the hcg level and the spotting). They wanted me to stay on the PIO until I had another blood test to be on the safe side.

I didn't want to say anything until I knew for sure even though deep down I knew that I miscarried. There was still that .1% chance that maybe today's results would have been positive so I was holding out until it was officially confirmed.

Please don't let my news discourage or frighten you. Keep up the PMA and keep your spirits up. Just because my cycle didn't work doesn't mean that yours won't. I am sending you all plenty of baby dust.

As everyone has said, my heart and prayers are with you, myhb. At this point, it's hard to see the positives, but it is important to remember that you were able to get pregnant from IVF. This is a very big step. I hope you will be able to start again when you're ready and, until then, please know that we're all here for you. Take all the time you need to greive - this is a heartbreaking event, but in the long run, you'll look at it as one of the steps toward having a baby of your own. I wish you the best.

Myhb, just wanted to send all my love......

Suzhan, after the ET we travelled straight down to the accupuncturist for the session. It is very close to my home so it wasn't a lot of travelling. I got home and went to bed after the session which made me super tired (not sure if its the accu or the ET or the excitement of it all) and I fell into a deep sleep for like three hours. I took it easy the next few days but there was no strict bed rest as such. I don't think you should worry too much about not going straight to bed rest I mean, the session is not exactly strenous work. Our clinic did not recommend bedrest at all. The only instruction was no pulling/pushing/lifting of heavy things in the next 2 weeks. Other than that to live life healthily and normally. It is amazing how these things vary from place to place. Good luck babe.

Lots of love
Rittie

Hi Ladies -

You are all so wonderful. Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. You definitely have made me feel better. I haven't felt like socializing very much and it's so hard to get through the day at work because I can't seem to stay focused and I really don't feel like talking to my coworkers.

I have been reminding myself that I was able to get pregnant so that is a positive sign. I don't know when I'll be able to start a new cycle. They have to send my charts/info through a cycle review and then they'll schedule a follow up appointment. However, I don't think I'll be starting a new cycle this year. My clinic doesn't start any new cycles after Thanksgiving until the start of the new year.

I hope all of you are doing well. Thanks for being there for me.

Lola - I wish you all of the best and I am so happy that you are starting stims tomorrow. I bet you thought that the day would never arrive.

Yogi - good luck tomorrow with your pregnancy test.
