sarali - OMG still feeling sick at 14 weeks. I have been feeling really sick for 3 weeks now and kept telling myself that as soon as I get to 12 weeks it will stop. Yuk I am not sure I can cope with at least another 7 weeks of this.

Michelle - I am glad I am not the only one thinking about starting to buy things. I have decided not to buy anything until after my scan on Tuesday, although MIL has been madly knitting away.

Love to everyone
Angela

Hello,

I'm due 15 March, do I count as a spring baby? I've got my next scan on 26th October and hopefully we will be finding out the sex - as we really want to know it will have it's legs crossed no doubt!

I would say sickness usually subsides at around 12-13 weeks but if you're carrying multiples it can be a little longer. I've been so lucky I've never suffered from morning sickness, this is my seventh pregnancy (I already have 4 girls).

Sarali congratulations on your twins, double the love but hence the sickness still. Hopefully it won't go on for much longer. They can usually tell the sex at around 14-16 weeks on an ultrasound. I don't know where you are but in the UK you usually have a "dating scan" at around 11-13 weeks then another one at 20 weeks. It's usually then that they tell you. Some hospitals over here won't tell you the sex.

I started shopping ages and ages ago. It is definately best to shop around. The baby monitor I wanted was £99 in most shops but after surfing a bit I found in Boots it was on special for £69 plus points!! lol, I've been in Mothercare and Babiesrus loads of times. I look what I want then go home and I've made a list and am going to order it on line - save carrying anything. Also to me making a list feels like I'm shopping! I have the bath, crib (someone at DH's work was selling one so was rude not to get it), a few plain babygrows, electronic sterliser oh and I have my pram. I knew exactly what I wanted and I saw one on ebay, it was only a few months old and I saved over £300! Everything is in the loft.

I've mumbled on enough for one day.

Hope you are all good. Have a great weekend

Jo

Hi ladies,

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. My afternoon sickness started at the end of Week 8 just as I had secretly celebrated having a sickness free pregnancy unlike my friend who claims to started having sickness from Week 1 and is still sick on and off at week 20. Well, mine wasn't all day but was quite debilitating in the afternoon but I found accupuncture took it away almost completely. So finally I felt well enough to go on holiday and we had the most wonderful long weekend in Rome. For ladies who are feeling ill and not adversed to accupuncture, it worked miracles for me and I would recommend it.

We are desparate to know the sexes as we're now started to come up with truly silly nicknames for the babies - Phil & Lil, George & Mildred, Bill & Ted... stop, stop, just let us know the sexes and we'll get back on track to some PROPER names....

I haven't started buying anything for the babies yet. Will wait till we know the sexes. BUT, we've got quotes for a loft conversion. So I guess the first thing we'll buy for the babies, because of the babies is a new bedroom and bathroom on the top of our house. These babies had better appreciate it when they grow up :-)

Lots of love
Rittie

Hello Everyone,

I had a great weekend! I have been on a bit of a routine with my eating and sleeping due to queasiness, etc. I have been waking up in the middle of the night to eat because I would feel better the next day if I didn't let my stomach go empty. All weekend I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep for hours! The days were more productive too. I think I am slowly making the transition to the 2nd trimester and feeling better. The timing couldn't be better because I am in a friends wedding next weekend and it is going to be a really long weekend.

How is everyone else doing? When did you 2nd trimester gals start noticing a change in your energy level, etc.? Have you?

Dione, can't wait to hear about your scan. Good luck today!

Hey Anna, my bump buddy!! Can I join your thread? I can't believe I haven't looked at it until now. Hope your feeling good. I'm cramping today. Does this mean my belly muscles are expanding to make room? Are you showing yet? I think I'm just starting to this week.

Lucyluna, I was due for a dr visit today but not a scan. Then just before I got out of bed, the office called to reshedule for tomorrow. I actually had a u/s last Monday due to the pain I was having. Both babies looked great on the screen and they were moving and shaking! Measured equal to one another and perfect size for their gestational age. It really relaxed my mind.
First time at this dr tomorrow. We'll see what she has in store for us. Hopefully she'll schedule the next scan just in time for Thanksgiving and we'll be able to announce the news (boys / girls) to our family over the holiday dinner. DD can't wait as I told her she can come to the next scan.
Take care all!

Oh Dione, sorry about the misunderstanding. On the last list it said today you had a scan. Good luck tomorrow at your new doctor... let us know how it goes. That is so wonderful you may know the sex of the babies in time for Thanksgiving.

We will know in time for Christmas, but I sure wish it would be sooner! That will be a nice experience for your DD to go to the scan. Do you have a place that does a 3D/4D scan close by? We have one in town that I can go to for a fee. It is for entertainment purposes and we will go around the 28-30 week. They do a video of the baby moving around and take 3D photos. Anyway, they let you bring loved ones in with you to see the baby. They say you should go later in the pregnancy because the baby will be plumping and you can get a good idea of what he/she will look like.

Look forward to hearing the update...

I finally had my appointment today with the new dr. So, she walks into the room and she is 8 months pregnant. Go figure! She'll be going out on maternity leave in two weeks. What a pain.
Everything went well today. I got to hear both heartbeats and she actually did do a belly scan today (my first "outside" u/s with this pregnancy) to make sure she was hearing two separate beats and not just one. I tell you, I got spoiled with the vaginal u/s as they are so clear. The externals are so cloudy! I have to go for an early glucose test this week (due to twins) and go see her again next week. I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow and she measured my uterus at 16 weeks, which she says is perfectly normal due to twins.
I'll be having a 2-D scan the week after Thanksgiving to ensure all is well and try to see what's brewing on the inside. (Boys, PLEASE be boys). I'm glad it's over and everything looks great!

Congrats on the good visit. I can't believe she is 8 months pregnant. You and I are the exact same date-wise, I will be 12 weeks tomorrow too. It is nice to hear about your appointments so I can compare to where I am. Only difference is that you have 2 in there! I am sure it was great to hear the heartbeats. Congrats on your nice visit!

Hi lovely ladies, hope everyone having a good week

Rileydee, my bump buddy, welcome to our thread! Good to 'see' you. I had some cramping last week but it has sudbsided now. The books all say that it is your body changing to make room for the beanie. I'm still in my normal clothes but they are feeling tight. People who know say that I am 'showing' those that don't probably just think I 've put on a bit of weight!! When is your next appointment?

Rittie, your trip to Rome sounds great. Glad to see you are feeling better.

Angela, how was your scan? Hope all went well, keep us posted.

Bridget, thinking of you. Hope you are OK x

Dione, congrats on your drs appmt. You must have been thrilled to actually hear those heartbeats..well done you!! Also, well done in reaching the 12 week milestone!

Lucy, hi, hope your sleep patterns get back to normal soon..mind you it's probably good practice for later on!! Can't believe you can go to a video place to see your baby move around! How amazing is that? Congrats on your 12 weeks

I just wondered if anyone has had any sucess with sea sickness bands at curing morning sickness. So far I have felt really sick all day and so I started wearing the bands on Monday I have not noticed any effects until today when I hardly feel sick at all. Now though I am panicking that the baby is alright and wonder whether I should take the bands off to see if I am still sick, but then again if it takes 4 days for them to work again I don't really want that either.

Sorry to rant on.
