Hi Deb,
Welcome to the site and don't worry about being upset - how else do you expect to react to bad news!
Why not phone the clinic in the next day or two and ask them to explain things again to you - you won't be the first or last to do so - and its better that than imagining all sorts of awful scenarios!
Good luck,
Di

hello deb,
sorry youre feeling so upset, but dont worry, we have all experienced the shock of such bad news, so youve come to the right place! we all understand. Its such alot to take in.
Im not familiar with the spasms they say you are getting, but there maybe someone here who has experienced this.
IVF is different for everyone, some it works 1st time, others it can take a few, but I will say that since I began checking out these boards over a year ago, the positive outcomes of pregnancy are going up all the time. If you look back at the july, august, sep cycle buddies, there have been so many positives, which is really encouraging!
We cant get funding on the nhs here in essex, but I was investigated on the nhs before we were referred to a private clinic, so I didnt have to pay for my laps and hysterocopy etc. that took the longest amount of time. once we were referred, it was then a couple of months before we started our treatment. obviously this will be different on the nhs. time scales differ all over with the nhs.

whatever happens next, keep in touch,
and I wish you all the best!
if you feel sad or happy, vent it here!

take care
kathryn
x

Hi Deb

I am also brand new to this site but not so new to ivf/icsi. When I was told I had to have fertility treatment 3 years ago my world also fell apart. I hated everyone and felt cheated. After all, I had spent the last 13 years looking after other peoples children as a nanny. I am on my 2ww and test on the 8th. This is my 3rd try. I have found the information from reading all the posts from everyone absolutly invaluable. I only wish I had found it earlier.

We are all in the same boat and can give you all our support and try to answer any questions you may have.

I had my first two attempts on the NHS at the Mayday hospital in Croydon/Thornton Heath. We went semi private for the 3rd with the same consultant but through an NHS hospital and not his private practice. Reason being it's half the price. When you go priv thro the NHS you pay cost but if you go priv completely you pay profit. I hope you can understand this. If it's sounding rubbish I blame my hormones. This 2ww really sucks.

Keep your chin up

Dagny X

hi dagny,
I know what you mean! i was a nanny too,for 7 years I looked after 3 children but my priority was James who has severe cerebral palsy. I still see them all the time but just couldnt hack the fact I didnt have my own! before that I was a residential social worker for children with special needs. so Ive also worked with children for the last 13 years. hubby and I now own a movie rental shop but we might aswell be a youth club! (and sometimes a counselling service!) I love it though! the kids AND our staff call me 'mother' ! its so funny.
the worst bit is one of the not so nice girls in the village has just got herself pregnant.....shes 15, hes 13 almost 14.....it makes me really cross. I dont have much to do with them.

dont know where all that rambling came from! only wanted to say hello and Ill be thinking of you for the 8th and watching out for your positive post!

take care
kathryn
x
