Well i emailed the clinic today to ask how much a FET is good god these things dont come cheap £850 i just hope that its going to be money well spent. As I am waiting for AF to arrive, I am trying to come up with questions to ask the doctor at our follow up in 2 weeks. Of course, what I really want to know is why do I keep miscarrying?
Is the problem because DH has bad sperm (which we know) that can't produce a viable embryo? Or is there something wrong with me that is causing me to keep m/c'ing?
I had blood work done this summer to test for antiphospholipids and clotting disorders that cause recurrent miscarriages and everything came back fine. I am going to ask that he do more testing. Actually I'd like him to test for anything he can possibly think of!
I am trying hard to focus on moving forward and not dwell on what has happened. Not so easy at time, but I'm trying to keep up the PMA.

Well, it wasn't great news yesterday. Dr said when he went in to get the eggs my right ovary showed quite a few endometrial cysts, not big ones, but quite a few. There were no follicles on the right ovary to speak of and no eggs were taken from that side. So, basically, my right ovary is pretty much non-functional from the endometriosis. My left side had some endometriosis on it which has obviously grown since my op in May, and therefore at a rapid rate (the same as happened to me before). However, that is the side they got the eggs from. He said only 2 eggs was disappointing. He said if we wanted to have another attempt he would increase my dose of Menopur to hopefully get more follicles and therefore more eggs, but that with this, there is a greater risk of OHSS.
He said that if I hadn't already had two major surgeries in the last 2 years to clean up the endometriosis he would suggest that I go in for surgery to clean up the ovaries before starting the next cycle. DH and I have already decided that we wouldn't put me through anymore surgery and anyway, Dr was reluctant to do that.
The endo obviously grows back in me at the drop of a hat so I was concerned about how advanced it would be when and if we went for another attempt at IVF, which would be in January. He said that we could have another course of Zoladex injections to halt my periods for the next 3 months and then go straight to IVF No 2 but he was reluctant to do that either given the fact that I have already had two separate courses of 6 months worth of Zoladex in the last 2 years!
Regarding the embryos, he said they were of good quality but neither had an early cleave and that obviously one was only a 2 cell at transfer, which wasn't particulary promising. I don't think it stood a chance from the word go.
Oh, and my FSH level is 8.9 and apparently the cut off for IVF is 9 - so that is another thing against us!
He has left us to have a think about whether we want to go again. I am also having the most dreadful pain with this AF. I spoke to the clinic and have decided to go back on the pill until we are ready to try again in January. This will stop me having pain each month and stem the endometriosis from growing back (hopefully).
It doesn't really look great does it?

I also had a 2cell embryo (both of mine were 2 cell) and we was told when we went back that they didnt really stand a chance - but what really gets to me is that they dont say that to u when u go back for ET - im not saying i wanted them to tell me you have no hope, but to say everything is great, and good luck hopefully we will see u for your scan, when really knowing that we aint got a cat in hells chance really gets to me. We were told that some do go on to pregnancy, but then when we went back they also said that yes some do, but they end up in M/C - well thanks for letting us know that!!!

I only had 3 mths worth and i went crazy from the side effects and DR took me off them - i dont take nothing now for the endo, but i dont think mine is as bad as ur's, i know my ovaries are clear, i have it on pelvis and somewhere else (i cant remember quite where now - it was 11 yrs ago i was diagnosed)
I hope that they can do something for u hun, i think increasing ur menopur is a good idea for the next time, and altho there is a risk of OHSS, as u only had 2 eggs he last time, i didnt think u would be in a high catagorey for that, maybe im wrong. If there was no follies on one side with you, did they not see this in the scanning u was having thru out the procedure and given u extra few days on the menopur then? Surley this would have also been another option for you.
I know its a hard decision to make hun, im here with you, i hope u come to the right one for u and DH, i know you will - you are a strong couple and whatever path u choose i know you will be happy there together.
Do you have another appointment for January yet? Or do u have to ring them once you and DH have come to a decision?

Ems... did your Dr discuss changing meds at all?....you sound very similar to me but instead of endo i have cysts i also i only have one functional ovary my right one never plays when it comes to stimming i never get eggs from it...and on both cycles i have hed huge cysts covering my ovarys....thing is i only got 3 mature eggs on my first go so i wasnt expecting much on my second i was told i have a high fsh 9.4/70 (although tested 6.4/50 since) but ghost said its the first one you go by now last time we changed my meds to Gonal F i had 11 eggs and ended up with 4 beautiful embies...mine is now implantation faliure so it is possible to get good embies from a bad diagnosis and you will have us all behind you...
Haylie your a bonfire night lady....33 your still young and its looking like im the oldest of the group too...thats just great

Thanks for your messages.
Feeling a bit better about things now I know I can go on the bcp until next IVF cycle. The thought that I was going to be suffering terrible pain each month until then was really filling me with dread. So, we've phoned the clinic and made a planning appointment for 21st Nov. I will see my GP tomorrow to get the bcp, start taking it straight away and take it continuously until the next go...

Glad you have a plan now Ems - it always helps to have I plan I reckon and with the bcp no nasty pain for you. At least that something I don't get much - AF hardly ever visits me with my PCO's! When I get nasty pain with AF, I am almost relieved. Crazy eh?
