Gonel F Pen Injecter Help..URGENT

Need to inject myself today, managed it ok on tuesday but today the wee clicker at the top wont press down, it looks like its clicked up. The pen is set for 150..the big arrow is there but its the wee nib with the red numbers on it ..it only twists round. The clinic want me to go in but i have so much i want to do at home and my car is here but the key isnt and its raining(i know im moaning)..basically i would much rather someone told me how to set it/fix it and 2 secs later i can inject myself no probs..easy peasy!!

Anyone help me??

Will the end bit not pull out? and what should it be set at?

Hi there it sounds like your pen is empty..if not try priming it with 37.5 then try again at loading the full dose i know the only time mine wont pull out is if its empty ...wishing you luck

I think it is pulled out but i dont know if certain things only work with the needle attached etc but i only have one needle left and i dont want to waste it. Then i would have to go to the clinic

julie i have used needles twice before so don't worry...try it out and if it doesn't work re- prime it and try again.It's okay to use the same needle it just gets a bit blunt so is more difficult to stick in...But if still unable to use go to clinic ...

No luck and i phoned the clinic and tried to get them to talk me through it but no go..i need to go up. Just wanted to avoid that and get the things done i needed to, you know the way if there is interruptions you never get done what you want.

I can grab the other car from my hubby at 4 so im going then.

bad luck that you've had all that stress and stuill need to wait for car and drive to clinic..Maybe you can ask for some extra needles too? Where abouts in scotland are you and where are you having tmt?

Im outside Glasgow and im going to the Nuffield. Luckily its only 20 mins in the car(not at 4pm though, rush hour, oh shucks!!)i have been silly as i wasnt taught how to use it properly as last month i was going there to get the injections. My hubby has a fear of needles and didnt want me to do it myself, i was a wee bit scared at first but knowing now its not painful i feel up to doing it myself!! I havent told him though,LOL he would go mental at me!

I moved from Glasgow 2 wks ago up here to Forres...was at the royal for nhs tmt funding now ran out so am still going to the ROyal but funding ourselves...

I was on the list for the Royal after waiting months on the Western's list. How long did you have to wait before beginning treatment then? Im lucky enough to have a mum and dad who are desperate for a Grandchild!! They have one already but they get very limited access to her coz my sister in law is a b*tch.

It's all right we all get that ...stimmy med head when we are gonal-ing...I waited a year and a half on the nhs to start tmt. this was even though i was put to the top of the list because of emergency op when pregnant naturally. Good luck with the tmt though and getting a grand child your parents CAN see.

It's worth staying on the list even though your are private at the moment...you never know you might want a 2nd child!

hope you got everything sorted out at the clinic regarding your inj pen.

I am away the weekend so will catch up with you on Monday..happy weekend-ing

Well it turns out my pen was empty!!! Didnt have a clue, i just assumed it would have to same dose as the pen they used for me the first month which had 3 in it. This was a 2nd pen that was used as i needed an extra injection last month and they sent me home with it so there was only one dose left in it unbeknown to me!! Anyway, its not set me back by missing that one day when i put it in myself or so i thought. Going back on monday for another scan which is day 13 so all going well i will get my hcg injection that night.

Thanks Jen for all your help. When do you start a new treatment?
