I have not posted on this thread for qutie a while. I am 8 weeks 1 day now and am still feeling very sick. We had our first scan this week and there was one pregnancy with a strong heartbeat. I go to see the midwife on Thursday for my booking appointment with her.
I need to find some coping strategies to cope with this sickness that seems to bother me all day. It has really got me down the last couple of days and I am finding it very hard to eat anything at all. I seem to be almost depressed with it and I think I need a mental kick up the backside to get on with life.
I keep trying to tell myself that we are one of the lucky ones that have got a BFP, but I hate being sick and feeling sick for most of the day seems to take the joy out of it. To make matters worse we run a club so work with food and drinks all day which doesn't help.
Any advice would be very gratefully received.
Good luck to everyone and I look forward to getting to know you all better.

Have about 3 dry crackers as soon as I feel nauseous help me calm the feeling of sickness generally. I find that I'm generally ok when I do not have an empty stomach so I munch on the crackers. A friend eats a couple of crackers before getting out of bed in the morning and that helps her start the day. I also do accupuncture for the afternoon sickness I have and that works miracles. A friend also tried using the copper bands you can get from Boots for travel sickness and that worked for her. Hope this helps.
We had our first scan yesterday and it revealed one strong little baby.... It was amazing to see it on the screen (I think it put my mind at ease). We got to also see the heartbeat... 120BMP. Our next appt. is Oct. 31st with our OBG/YN (the fertility clinic has dismissed us).
tasha
that is so exiting i can't wait to hear the heatbeat.
my second bw was tobay and my beta is 214 11dp5dt. is that good i am so worried .
i hope everybody is having a nice weekend. take care and talk to you later. oh by the way my first us is nov 8.i am counting days.
it has good info on HCG levels and there is also a message board accessible through there where a lot of women are discussing their levels at different stages.
Angela, I had all day sickness too. The things that have helped me are pretty similar as to others. For me it would start as soon as I ate breakfast, so I kept food in my stomach at all times. I would wake up in the middle of the night just to eat a piece of bread. I cannot tell you how much that helped. Carbs helped, never letting my stomach get empty, and get lots of rest. Take your vitamins at night before bed too, that helps the queasiness. Good luck, and hang in there!

hi all, we had our ifirst scam today, and we saw the wonderful heartbeat 127 BPM... we were so glad to see our little bean.
my levels are looking good HCG up to 23000 amd progesterone at 25, i'm so happy... now we have to wait.. we saw my OB Dr. in the hall and tlked to him a little, so it's great!!!
cangrats tasha, it was great seeing the heartbeat, right... I see that you are near me...i'm in lake in the hills... small world!!
sorry to you all that are feeling crappy!! i do have to say that is one thing that i never got... that's one of the reasons i thought i was going to misscarry.... my sister ate butter cookies, the little fat in them seemed to help..
Had my 13.5 weeks Nuchal Translucency Scan yesterday and all went well. Both Twin 2 is bigger than Twin 1 and both are just under 3 inches big and a looking like real babies now. They have both been given a low risk calculation which I am so happy about. Thank you God and please continue to bless them to be healthy and normal.
Colleen- Glad to hear that you got to see the hearbeat yesterday... it's such a wonderful feeling. Yeah we're only about 20 minutes away from each other... what a small world. I actually have family in Algonquin, Lake in the Hills & Huntley. We're out there quite a bit.... What hospital are you doing to deliver at? Also we're pretty close to each other in due dates too...
Rittie- Great to hear that your scan was good yesterday. I'm sure that put your mind at ease even more.
tasha- we are going to St. Alexius in Hoffman Estates, we have had great experiences there.. and you?? too bad the new Sherman is not done yet.. I tihnk that is going to be nice... What fertility clinic did you go to... we went with FCI first, then Karande & assoc.. This time was through our ob/gyno on clomid, actually we are not quite sure what worked?? as my clomid follical US showed nothing, then we waited for AF, and nothing so i took provera to bring on AF, and we thing that might have actually helped me ovulate....my body is all messed up, so who knows... Sorry for going on and on.... still a little shocked about it all... doing all the IVF and stuff, then it "just happening"
Rittie- glad your babies are looking good, and are low risk...
Is anyone afraid to do things... I'm afraid to use cleaning products and carefull about my shower being to hot, and my poor DH is waiting for you know what... I just know that 6-10 weeks everything is forming and this is the most crucial time of development... He keeps saying that i need to worry less (he's always looking on the + side of things). I know that i've been here before and not too worried at that time, but i feel like this is a last chance and a gift, and i do not want to blow it!!!
well, i hope that you all have GREAT days, and many healthy babies to come!!!!
