I had my transfer yesterday. Due to an emergency surgery (not me) and a missing ultrasound tech, my transfer was a bit more traumatic then I thought it would be, so I am very glad it's over!
The good news is that he transferred two beautiful blasts and I have at least 3 to freeze - maybe more which I'll find out about today.
How do I get through these next 11 days without losing my mind? I'm really not sure how to mentally prepare myself if this didn't work. I know this was just our first try and others out there have been through so much more....I guess I'm just looking for some tips on how to stay positive through this time.

First IVF attempt (drug study),
Day 5 Transfer of 2 blasts
10/16=BFP!
11/13=TWINS!
I go back to work tomorrow, which should help make the time go quicker.
I keep thinking about the transfer yesterday. The doctor didn't even have me lay there after he put the embryos in...he had me sit right up and the nurse walked me to the bathroom right away. Then I had a milkshake on the way home, and I keep reading how you should avoid ice cream and cold foods!! Could gravity and a cold drink really make a difference in this whole, complicated process??
I know if this fails I will over-evaluate everything I did between now and the pregnancy test. The doctor also told me that implantation will happen by day 3 post transfer, so that is on my mind as well.

Brit,
please calm down, my doctor never said that I should avoid cold food, just keep the healthy diet. So I don't think one milk shake will do anything at all.
Well my transfer wasn't a pleasant experience too, she had me seat as well, for 10 min, then I went to the restroom.
I am really not sure what would you know influence positive or negative results, it is a mistery and a lucky chance I guess. So we should just pray and hope that everything will turn out to be as we planned:)
Seriously, less stress, more rest and no caffeine and sex.
ladies you can do it.. I tested on my first one, but I did not test on my second one. I tried not to think about it. I bought me a car during my wait so I put all my stress on that.. Try to stay way from the hpt as far as you can. GOODLUCK

You got your bfp on the day of my fet!! i am in the dreaded 2ww. i have until thursday. like you i had 2 5 day blasts...but mine were previously frosty! Did you have any cramping? how long do you have to take the PIO?? sorry for all the ?? but thanks for any info!!
I am in the 2 week wait as well (my transfer was Friday October 20th )! After my transfer they basically said to me "right thats all over now, finished, you can get up and move about as normal". They did not even cover a list of dos and donts. I had no advice on what I could or could not do atl all!!! Just that I should drink plenty of water!! It was literally as soon as they had taken all the equipment out of me - that I was made to stand up. As my hubbie was unable to get the time off, I had a ten minute walk to the railway station, one hour sitting down on the train, a 15 minute wait at a busstop and then a 15 minute walk from the busstop to my house!!!
I am doing what my body is telling me to do - resting and slowly pottering about and avoiding stress. Visiting this board everyday helps to while away the hours too.
I am keeping fingers crossed for us all!! There a few of us in the 2 week wait at the moment. luv Bekki xxx
nene - yep, i did have some cramping. i even called the ART nurse to make sure this was normal and she assured me it was. i started the PIO shots the day of my retrieval and i think they will continue until my ultrasound (or maybe longer - i'm not sure). i don't mind them at all...i haven't had any pain or bruising from them.
bekki - yikes! you're such a trooper! i can't believe you went through the transfer alone and then made that long trek home. i was only told to rest the day of the transfer and to not lift more then 15lbs until the 2ww was over. most girls say to do what your body tells you.

Hi all
I had my transfer done on 10/22/06 – Sunday. Took rest for 2 days and is back to work again today. Just like wannabemom, I also don’t feel much and that scares me… A LOT!
Most posts I have read says , they all had crampings and breast tenderness after Transfer and I don’t have anything especially when I compare it to how I was before Egg retrieval. That was really bad for me. On the day of retrieval I was not even able to stand straight .
Anyhooo.. right now I just wish I could keep taking the PIO shot for 10 or 12 more weeks as that only happens if you are preggo!!!!My boobies are slightly tender , but not as much it used be b4 my periods. Also I just have a tingly feeling in my tummy when I walk. May be its just butterflies, who knows…I called my nurse today as I was very nervous about no obvious symptoms that I have heard so far. She said its different for everyone and she had many Mommies with no symptoms at all . Also Have another question for you all. When you say 2WW, does it mean 2 weeks wait? Is this wait from day of transfer or from retrieval. My Blood preggo test is scheduled for Halloween. Is this normal if my transfer was on 22nd and my retrieval on 17th? Thankyou all for sharing.
Hey ladies, I too am on the dreaded 2ww, fortunately I am now 6 days away from the test day which is October 30th. I am freaking out along with you all over not having any symptoms other than an occasional twinge in my abdomen.
Bubble, your test date does not sound odd to me considering my retrievel was on the 16th, the transfer on the 21st and testing on the 30th. That would make the test date 14 days from the retrievel, same as yours.
Good luck to everyone, stay calm(ha), think positive and rub those bellies!
Wow !! js we both have the exact same cycle... Good to know. you know what I do? I ask my hubby to kiss my tummy like there is a baby in there. I dont know , it just makes me all better. So most of us in here now dont have any symptoms.huh . Hope we all get preggy . Iam praying for all us .
One more Q!
Are any of you guys constantly hungry? IAM I had 4 slices of bread, 2 servings smoothie ,a glass of milk, 2 huge apples and one big wrap with turkey and all kinda veggies in it and my stomach is still making all funny noises and I feel hungry! Do you think its the PIO? Hey, that reminds me did you clinic ask you to use vivelle patches or some sort of estrogen ? I have start using the patches from 26th.
