hot flashes

Hi everyone,

I'm in week two of the two week wait (2nd Ivf). I was wondering if anyone has had hot flashes during this time and still was BFP? I know that they often are accompanied by AF due to break down of lining.
I think I may have had slight ones overnight..not sure though.

Just a quick question are you sleeping in any position at night? I am terrified that lying on my side will move the embryos out of place - I know it seems daft!!!

About the hot flushes - sorry I cannot answer that one !! Bekki xx

I had hot flashes in the 2ww, but I was and still am convinced that it was from the progesterone. I have never heard that it was due to the breakdown of the uterine lining. I never had them until I went through IVF. I know this probably doesn't help you, but wanted you to know that I thought it was from PIO.

I agree with Wannbaby, i have never heard it being from the breakdown of the uterine lining either, but u must remember that ur body is and has been thru a tremendous time the past 6 weeks, so maybe this is the effect of the drugs. When do u test, please let us know the results - good luck for ur BFP

When do u test? Just wanted to say that i dont think sleeping on ur side will harm ur embies in any way hun - its funny how we think of everything and anything that can help/harm we want to get it just right.

You're probably right..it may just be the drugs...or the out of wack imagination that I've recently developed. I go for my BETA next Saturday...for some reason I'm more nervous than the first time. Today is my first time posting so forgive me if I'm not using the reply feature correctly.

I had hot flashes during my stims and during the 2 week wait. It definately was from the medication because I don't usually sweat while I sleep. Needless to say I am entering my 19th week of pregnancy w/ twins so don't worry!

Kabillion,

Thanks for telling me about your hot flashes. My other concern though is that I have absolutely no other symptoms. I know it's common, but it seems weird that my only side effects are these darn hot flashes (which were pretty bad last night by the way)
I don't know why i'm having such a difficult time with the 2WW this time. I think it's because I feel exactly the same as I did during my first 2WW.

Hi Kat

Just to let you know that I suffered with hot flushes during the 2ww and am now 14 1/2 weeks pregnant. I had no symptoms during the 2ww - I got 2 big spots on my chin a few days before test day which is normally a definate AF sign for me, I had no cramps, sickness, etc. I was really convinced it hadn't worked.

Welshgirl38 - I test in around 10-14 days time. date is not officially set yet! My transfer was on Friday 20th Oct. Thanks for the advice about sleeping - I just have paranoia about suffering another ectopic, as I had one last year. However the last four nights I have been sleeping perfectly well. I am just relaxing and taking it easy.

Of course I will let you know how it goes!!!

I too didn't have any symptoms and actually thought I had my period the day of my pregnancy test. I woke up bleeding like a normal period and showed up for my blood work crying and wondering why I was taking a test I thought would be negative. I had no breast soreness, nausea, nothing!!!! It came about 3 weeks later though and hasn't stopped since. Good luck w/ your test.
