hi sugarmama
welcome ,this is a great place we are all like a big group of friends.
the shots don't hurt you just get used to them. my DH did all my shots and i didn't feel most of them . about ohss, don't worry about it just drink alot of water i heard that helps alot.
i wish you a luck and remember the most important thig you can do is to think +ive.
I am new to this board but not to IVF. Welcome to all of you newbies! The whole meds package is a little intimidating for sure! I had dh do most of mine...the belly shots aren't bad...just pinch an inch! haha! I have never done the hip shots myself and I don't care for doing them in the leg. Its just trial and error i think. what works for some doesnt for others. Just keep yourself focused on that BFP!!! Like me...I am sure most of you would do anything to hold that little baby and have it stare up into your eyes!! It's a long road...but definately worth the trip!!
I have just completed my first round of IVF and I am on day 5 of the 2 week wait!! I was terrified about going through IVF and also very scared about OHSS. However, throughout the stimulation phase you will go for check-ups and the Doc will be able to see if your ovaries could be overreacting. It is advised to take it fairly easy during the stimulating phase and to avoid too much stress and to drink lots and lots of water throughout the IVF cycle.
My husband did the injections throughout and they just feel like pin pricks. It is more comfortable in the tummy as there is plenty of flesh (atleast in my case !! ) rather than top of the thighs where the skin is thinner and is more muscle. As I progressed with the IVF cycle I met loads of ladies in the clinic and got talking, and started to even ENJOY treatment!!! (having time off sick from work, and bossing my hubbie about!! ).
Good luck, and we are all here to help, bekki xxxx
P.S. I am having my treatment in Germany as hubbie is german, and had to battle my way through the german language aswell as the treatment!!!! Also I am terrified of doctors anyway - but I have overcome it all now!!
Bubble - of course!!! - making the most of it while I can!!!! I am finding an excuse for everything at the moment because I am in the two week wait - excuses not to do the hoovering, dusting, unloading and loading of the dishwasher etc... God help him if it turns out that I am preggers!!!
