Hi Angela,

My friend who was severely sick from week 1 used the motion sickness copper bands and it helped her enormously. I personally use accupuncture which targets the same points and it had worked miracles for me. Hope this helps.

dione and rittie.....

How are you two doing? Just wondered if you have been feeling some "flutters" from the babies yet. The past couple of days I have felt it. Are either of you getting a bump yet? I haven't. There is another lady in my school pregnant with twins and is a couple of weeks ahead of me and she is showing. I can't wait!

Sorry another weird question......any of you experiencing mucusy discharge?

My next appt with my reg obgyn is on halloween. I feel like it has been forever since we've got to see the babies. I hope they do another scan.\

Have a great weekend!

Michelle, I have been feeling a little something the past two days but thought it too soon to be the babies. My dr said many singleton women report feeling the baby around 17 weeks and twins are sooner so maybe that is what I am feeling. I can't remember when I first felt it with my daughter as it was so long ago. But, I do remember being at my 16 week u/s and watching her move SO much and being amazed that I couldn't feel a thing.
I am showing, or maybe it's the 10 pounds that I have already gained. Discharge? Yes and I'm glad to hear it's not just me.

Hi Michelle and Dione,

I am not feeling any flutters yet. I am showing a little bit although I can still fit into my usual jeans at the moment. They're tight on bloated days though. My lower abdomen is now a small rounded bump and its harder to the touch than the rest of the belly. My upper abdomen has gone fatter which I am not pleased about but a friend said its because the babies start of low and are pushing everything else upwards, it should all later form one big round bump rather than being half hard hard soft like now. I lost a kilo from conception to week 12 and am gradually putting it back on. One kilo increase in weight is not too much for Week 13 is it? I am having my 13 half week scan on Monday and I am getting quite scared. I hope they'll confirm that the babies are both alright. Sigh, so much worry isn't it....

Lots of love
Rittie

Rittie...

First off....yes there is a lot of worrying. However over the past 3 weeks I have felt at ease a little more each day.

Good luck on your scan....let me know what you think of the pictures. My scan 2 weeks ago was amazing. The babies were moving like crazy!

I have only gained 4 pounds since I was 4 weeks. Everyone keeps telling me that is not a lot. But you have to consider I am on insulin and a 2000 calorie diet. I keep wanted to give in to my cravings, but I have to be careful with my blood sugar. ( I do indulge every so ofter

My upper stomach is also what feels hard and bloated. Not so much in the lower abdomen. I got the same explanation as you. I feel bloated.....alot! Sometimes I feel like I can't eat, but I know I have to.

I have been off my progesterone for almost a week and a half. It is great!

Have fun and relax this weekend!

Hi Ladies!

I had my appointment today and everything is perfect. I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time and it was perfect, in the 150s. We also had a scan and it showed a fully formed baby that was moving around and trying to suck it's thumb! The baby is measuring just under 3 inches and looks like a masterpiece to me :D ! The doctor's office says it has graduated from the size of a strawberry to the size of a plum.

I quit the progesterone a couple of days ago, even though I was supposed to wait until this Tuesday. I was in a wedding over the weekend and it was just too annoying to fit in to the weekend. We figured it was ok since it was only 5 days early. I has been wonderful too.

I hope all of you are doing wonderfully! Anna, for the list you can add that my next appointment is on the 21st of Nov. We also have an ultrasound that morning to find out the sex of the baby.

Hello Everyone.

Hope you are all good.

Anna how did it go with your mum last week? I bet she was thrilled. Enjoy your few days break.

Hi Wendy, welcome back. I remember when you got your BFP then you disappeared! Congratulations on your twins.

Lucy sounds like you had a great scan. It's amazing when you hear that heartbeat. Everytime I hear it it feels like it's the first time!

Congrats on all you ladies who have quit the progestone, that's horrible!

Michelle that's great that you've only gained 4lb. Has your insulin dose changed much? I'm on so much insulin it makes me hungry! I usually take 90 units a day but I'm now up to 286 and rising daily. I've already put on about 32lb but then I'm on steriods too which doesn't help.

I've been feeling bubbles/tickles since week 10 but now I get kicks!

Discharge is a sign of a healthy pregnancy so although not pleasant and I don't know if it's just me but it makes me rush to the loo paraniod it's something else, it's a good sign.

Last week they cancelled my scan on Thursday. Because I'm a type I diabetic I need to go to London for a specilist scan. Thankfully the hospital called today and I am going to London on Thursday so hopefully I will be logging on to tell you all how wonderful it was and what flavor we are having!

Hope the rest of you are ok.

Take care

Jo

Sorry ladies i haven't posted sooner--been a tough few days. I had my US on monday. Twin A is doing perfect and measuring right on track with a heartbeat of 174. Twin B--yes there was a twin--isn't viable. THe tech could see the fetal pole and sac this time but there was no heartbeat. I kinda knew that was probably the case but i was still holding out hope. We are sad about the loss of one but also elated about the other doing great--lots of emotions. Twin b will live in our hearts forever. First OB appt is Nov 10th.
To top it off i have such bad morning-night sickness i can't believe it. Evenings are actually my worse. I can't wait for this first trimester to be done--i know that sounds ungrateful or rude please don't get me wrong i am so elated to be pg but so tired of being sick i can hardly function these last few weeks.

Hi everyone,

Had my Nuchal Translucency Scan yesterday (13w3ds) and everything's fine. Twin 1 was very naughty and was hiding low in the belly making it difficult for the radiologist to measure him properly. Twin 2 was good and cooperative and we got her the first go. I had to repeat the scan three times to get twin 1, having to drink more water each time to fill the bladder. At one point I was going to burst and I felt sick and could just imagine myself passing out on the hospital floor in a pool of pee. Luckily we made it. Twin 2 is slightly bigger than Twin 1. Both have been given a low risk calculation. So I say thank you God! I've booked in for a private scan today (mainly because of recommendation of a doctor friend and a bit paranoia). I hope the results will be just as positive.

Briget, so sorry to hear about your Twin B but happy that Twin A is doing so well. Good luck with the rest of the pregnancy.

Lots of love
Rittie

Jo......wow that's a lot of insulin you are on. I am only taking 18 units in the morning and 10 units at supper. I am type 2. They expect me to gain at least 50 pounds with these babies. I keep thinking their crazy. Although I am tyring to curve any cravings I have.

What is your diet like daily? Do you have to watch what you eat? They are giving me 2000 calories each day and 150 carbs a day. I see a specialist because of the diabetes and twins. She is awesome. I wish I could see her for every appointment.

Bridget...

I am very sorry about you and your DH's loss. I bet you have a whirlwind of emotions. My heart goes out to you.

Rittie..,.....

Please explain the nuchulal scan? Why has someone advised a private scan?

Rittie i am with michelle what kind of scan did you have? i did have to chuckle at visual of you passing out in puddle of your own pee. I am glad it didn't happen. Sounds like both little ones are doing great. Keep taking care of yourself and those little ones.

Michelle and Jo--were you diabetic before pgy? Just curious i don't remember when they do that awful sugar test during pgy.

Bridget--10wks tomorrow

Good evening everyone. I have got a question about coming off the progesterone. I am due to finish it next Thursday have just been told to take the pessaries until I run out. What I was wondering though was would this sudden stop be too much of a shock and should I perhaps cut down to 1 a day for the last couple of days. I have got my booking appointment with the midwife tommorow so I will ask her if she knows the answer.

I hope that you are all well
