Dear Alicia -

I am so sorry. I was so hoping you would get a BFP. I can't properly convey how sorry I am and I truly wish there was something I could do or say that would make you feel better. You are in my thoughts and I want nothing but the best for you. We are all here for you.

Thank you everyone for all the sweet and comforting words. I think I have cried every tear my body will ever make.

After we heard the news yesterday, we truly understood that was our last chance, since financially we can't afford to try again. This is the main reason I took it so hard. My RE called me today to see how I was doing, and explained how personally he took my BFN. He understands our situation financially and wanted to know if I still had the hope and determination to try one more thing. He wants to do an IUI (which I had one failed) but at no cost to me. He says he felt so dissappointed and wants to pay for everything!

I was so emotional I didn't know what to say. I started crying and said of course I'm still hopeful. So I am going to give it one final try, its just so crushing each time, I don't know how much more I can take. But I should be greatful for his offer and consider it a blessing.

Sorry to rattle on and on, I rushed on here right after the call because I wanted to know what you all thought? I don't know how you all stay so strong.

Love you always,
Alicia

My dear Alicia --- of course!!!! I would try it, you have nothing to lose! I think that is very nice of your RE to offer that. I would definitely go for it. Looks like he really wants you to get pregnant. The fact that it did not work last time does not mean it won't work this time. If your hubby's count is somewhere between 5-10 mil/mil, you have a pretty good chance with IUI. We wanted to start with that too, but then they told us my hubby's count was less then 1mil/ml, so we told to go straight for IVF. I feel better now, because you were blessed with a new hope and it is NOT over yet! Love and lots of baby dust to you! Lola

Alicia,

We were told the same thing, my husbands was too low for that. I would try the IUI as it has been successful for some. I would do some research on it so you can be in the best possible spot for it i.e. diet, caffine, exercise, etc. In fact, post a question or a poll on the forum about it and see what comes back. Just remember that many of us are here because that did not work so take it with a grain of salt.

We got kinda bad news today. My DH's sperm is now out Zero. I am so happy to be pregnant but sad at the thought of what would we do next...We had nothing left to freeze. I am so relieved I am almost at 4 months becuae i would have been a FREEK during the first trimester that something was going to happen and knowing we had no back up. I am greatful for that.

Love

Sam

PS Alicia, we will be praying for you

Alicia, (((hugs))) I'm so sorry about your BFN. I was so hoping for the best for you. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. It's nice of your RE to offer IUI to you. I hope it works because you are such a nice person and I think you'd be a wonderful mom. Please be sure to keep in touch and let us know how everything goes. If you ever need to talk, I'll be here for you. Take care now.

Lola, wow! I can hardly believe you are near ER. That's so great. You've been so patient and now the time is here. I'll be praying that you get tons of eggies!

I did a US and BT yesterday and my linning is already 10mm. So I am good to go for ET on 11/09. I get to skip my scheduled US and BT this Sunday since my linning is adequet for transfer, yipee!

Hey ladies--I finally got AF this morning. I'm waiting to hear from the office to confirm that I go in tomorrow for bw and us. If all is well, I start injections tomorrow evening. I'm concerned though, because I have had pain in my right ovary area for awhile now. Last time I had a cyst, but it was ok because it wasn't prodcung any hormones. I hoping that it is not another cyst. I guess I will find out tomorrow

I have been fighting a cold for the past few days. I'm trying to get it under control before I start stimming. I know that medication use during the cycle is very limited and I don't want to be suffering.

I hope all is well with all of you! Take care! :)

Dear Alicia,
I am so sorry to hear about u. I don't have words to express how sad I feel about it. I have gone through this and was hoping u won't have to suffer this. UR RE is very nice and I think u should plan for ur IUI. It works for lot of couples and I am hopeful that it will work for u as well.

Take care dear.

Alicia - I'd definitely take your RE up on his offer. I agree with Sam - do what you can to be physically and mentally in the best place for it and when you're ready, you know we'll all be here to support you!

Lola - Wow, ER is almost here and I'm so excited for you - 15 follies is fantastic! Congratulations! How are you feeling? I remember at this phase with 15 follies I was really ready to get those eggies out.

Wannababy - welcome to the shots, hopefully! Let us know how the bw/us appointment went. I think we're going to be close in our timing. I start stims (if all goes well) on 11/8.

Mia - glad to hear everything's going well for your FET. I really hope I get enough embies this time to keep some frosties. And, great news that your lining is already ready! What do you have to do between now and 11/9 to prepare? I'm not very familiar with the protocol for the FET.

I had my first lupron shot this morning. Now that I know the 'whole process of IVF', lupron seems like such an easy part of the process - 10 units of lupron is practically nothing! Lola - my RE keeps me on the lupron the whole time until I stop stimming, but it's 10 units from now until 11/7, then I switch to 2.5 units until I stop the stims (usually the day of or day before the HCG/trigger shot). The nurse at the RE's office said I had to stop all the chinese herbals now, although acupuncturist says they're not a problem, but she isn't going to fight him on it. So, I took my last ones last night. I've also been off all caffeine (since before last cycle) and also quit the wine last week. So, my system should be squeeky clean (hee hee..... :o 8) .)

I'm keeping my hopes and prayers positive for all of us in cycle -may we all be blessed soon.

Hey everybody!

I had bw and us this morning. I have a cyst like I suspected, but like last time it isnt producing hormones, so I am good to go. I dont think that cyst ever left. It does concern me, because I don't want this to be the reason for another BFN. I know that if it were an issue, then I would not have gotten the green light. I did get 9 eggs last time, so the cyst didn't impact the stim too much. Does anyone know if a non hormone producing ovarian cyst has anything to do with implantation or any reason that IVF wouldnt be successful? Tonight is my 1st injection. My break in between cycles went by fast. I can't believe that its time again!

Lola- All the best for a successful transfer. Get ready for the 2ww!

Mia-How long does it take for your embryos to thaw? What injections do you have to take in prep for the FET? Is it significantly less than a fresh cycle?

Alicia- I hope you are taking care of yourself. Love ya girl! ((((hugs)))))

Lola, Good luck tomorrow! I'll be thinking of you!

wannababy and suzhan, The protocol for FET is pretty simple compared to IVF. First I was on a strong BCP to supress my cycle. Once they started my cycle and hormone levels were OK, I started 2mg of estradiol 3 times a day. I had a baseline US and BT and then more US and/or BT about every 2 to 3 days. Actually I've only had 2 US' and 4 BTs. I got to skip my last one and I go in on friday for my last US/BT, then I should begin PIO shots the next day. I do a BT on Sunday and then ET the following Friday 11/9. They will thaw the embies the same day of transfer. My transfer is at 9:30 AM. I'm not sure how long the thaw takes, they are tiny things so probably not very long. The only injections I have to do are PIOs! :D I'm so glad. Although those are the ones that seemed to cause the most damage. I had big bumps under my skin. I did get a different oil this time. I hope it helps. Oh, and I've been doing acupucture to help me relax. It seems to be working since I usually go mental when on estrogen, but I'm actually really calm and feeling pretty happy. I'm doing an acu. treatment the day before ET and possibly the day of ET (after ET) to hopefully help with implantation.

Alicia, I'm thinking of you. Hope you are ok.

Hello everyone!

I had me ER today and everything went well. They retrieved 17 eggs! I could not believe it. No wonder I could barely walk yesterday. Suzhan, you are right, I was so ready to get those eggies out. The only time I forgot about it was yesterday when I was singing. We went to Karaoke last night. The ER today was so pleasant, I did not feel a thing. My hubby was done with his part very quickly  , so he got to be with me all the time. Tomorrow we will know how many fertilized.
Thank you all for thinking of me. I showed my hubby our post today and he said we should just all have a big party one day. If only that was possible, ha? I love you all girls!
I see that many of you have some updates. We are staying with my mother in law until Thursday (that's when my transfer is) and this computer is very slow (it is a dial up connection), so I won't be able to do another update until Thursday night. I hope you all forgive me. I am so glad that everybody is gearing up for another round!

Wannababy -- I had a non-funcional cyst this time as well and my RE said when it is not functional - not producing estrogen, it has no impact on anything. It is just there. I have had it there since my cancelled cycle and he did not worry about it. And my RE is one of the best ones, he is the one who does all the research and talks at international forums.

I will write more tomorrow. Love and happy stimming without bruises to those who are starting! Lola
