Ahart, I only lasted 1 day of bedrest after pre-term labor started! Your time may come quicker than you think! Are you excited that the end is so near? Your twins will keep your hands full! It's fun when I'm in public (not often yet though) and people give you tons of attention for having twins. It makes me feel good and helps with the hormone blues.

Cla, glad to hear Charlie grew so much! My Brady grew good. But Tyler didn't. Apparently he's not sucking as much (because I feel them the same amount of time). So I'm having to work with him more to get him to eat more. I know what you mean about not knowing if they are getting enough from breastfeeding. I don't always feel like I have enough for both of them. Doctor said I did though.

Bella, the grobag egg sounds neat. I've never heard of that. I worry often if the babies are warm enough. Temperature is a big thing for babies (we checked it every 3 hours in NICU). So that's a great idea!

Time for another feeding....must go...

Has anyone had a heat rash on their tummy and chest? Saturday night I started to itch - more like a burning itch...but it kept me up all night...along with going to the toilet 5 times. I read due to the hormones it is completely normal. I haven't changed lotions or oils..just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

Tracii, I had that many times while I was pregnant! And it was during the summer heat. I also could relate it to when I wore pants that were higher waist bands too. But sometimes it just happened regardless of the heat or what I wore. Doctor saw it one day at a check up and said it was normal. It was all across my belly from side to side in the middle.

Hi girls!!!

Any baby showers out there???

I had my baby shower on Sunday and it was great - I was overwhelmed by how much stuff I got then I went to babies r us and spent a small fortunate last night getting other things I needed.....I also came home and the nursery was finished so I could put a lot of things away which was awesome (I cried - I am such a sap) I was happily surprised after such a nice weekend away with my husband!!!!!

Well on thursday I begin Biophysical Profile and non stress tests which will take place every week til I deliver! my November appt schedule looks like I should have a part time job at the hospital! between that and at 34 weeks I will begin seeing my OB every week!

Can't believe it is all so close and I am having fun doing laundry!! I know sounds strange but I love washing all of Logan's little towels, blankets, washcloths etc!!! I am just tickled!

Tracii,

They've taken my pregnancy notes from me and I know there was a section in there about itching. Saying that itching in pregnancy is quite normal, especially as hormones etc. are changing, but to be aware of excessive itching and to call the midwife if it gets out of hand. So as long as it's not too bad I'm sure it's fine but be aware of it.

Hope all is well with everyone else! Any new baby news?

Tracii - hope you're feeling ok and not going too mad on bedrest. Make the most of the rest!!!

Jamato - wow that sounds very healthy weight already!

Anyone heard from Sue e? Are you ok?

Hows everyone else doing?

Charlie is changing by the day and it's only been 2 weeks. Grabbing at things and much more alert. Oh I want to eat him he's so cute!!! Have just invested in a digital camera so I promise as soon as I work out how to use it I'll post some piccie!

3RD TRIMESTER

Post by heather14 »

Hi girls- sorry I haven't posted in a while but I have been checking up on everyone.
No need for my countdown, I gave birth to Piper Lynne on Oct 21. I was 32weeks and 6 days. My water broke while I was sleeping!!
She came out so quick there was no time for drugs. She in in the progressive care unit at the Children's Hospital and is doing great. We go to visit her 4 times a day(its exhausting but well worth it). Hopefully she will be ready to go home by Thanksgiving or a little after. She weighs 3.4 lbs. now and was 3.9 when she was born. We stilll have a few hurdles to go through but she is breathing on her own and has been for 6 days now.

Moral of this story_________________ be prepared!!!!! I obviously did not even think about preterm labor and delivery. My pregnancy was textbook perfect until my water broke. My doctor can not pinpoint any reason why it broke and the placenta test came back normal.
Best of luck to all of you girls. It feels so great to be a mommy,
Heather

:D

Hi ladies...well the beanies would not stay in any longer...I went into labor on the 21st and was admitted and released on the 22nd,,,went back on 10/24/06 at 2am with contractions that were 2-4 min apart and would not stop, they wanted to give me more brethine,,,,I declined so they stated I was still at 2 cm dil...since sunday 10/22....so they wanted to wait to see if my cervix was going to change...well I was at 35 wks to be exact and would not take any pain meds to ease the contractions b/c it would slow them down and my progress...the nurse I had was new and being trained so when the Dr arrived at 7:00 pm after delivering 3 c-sections he checked me and I was at 4 cm so he stated "we have to deliver them tonight"...but before the Dr arrived they sent in a neonatalogist and she was very rude...she kept asking me why would'nt I take the medication and why would I want to harm the babies....they need to stay in there for at least one more week and that their lungs are not developed, they would be on a breathing machine with tubes in them and would have to be fed via feeding tube...I stayed calm and told her that she does not know if their lungs are developed or not and it could vary as far as their health....I told her that we have faith in, THE LORD, and the beanies will be ok...The spinal was wonderful and to me better than the epi..I was blessed to have the best nurses in the OR and postpartum floor...My husband and I were crying when they pulled them out and heard their first cry.

:o The neo Dr stayed around to find out if what she was telling me was true...not..she had mud rubbed in her face and I hope she learned her lesson...

Anias Christian was born at 8:52pm <5lbs 1 oz, 18 1/2 inches
Demari Aidin was born at 8:54pm < 5lbs 1 oz, 18 inches

No problems at all and we were released on friday evening, I kept the beanies in my room through the entire stay...I'm very tired from the section.

Congratulations Heather!! I agree...I learned that being prepared was important! You never know how early they are going to arrive! Mine were born at 33.5 weeks after no issues also. I love the name Piper!!

Ahart, congrats!!! I am so happy for you. I remember in the beginning that you got a c-section date set. I remember thinking that seemed so far away. Now we both have our twins! That's interesting that your babies both weighed the exact same amount! Good call on what you told the doctors. I'm so glad it was such a positive turn out for you and all went so well and you all came home so quickly. Are you overwhelmed or holding up good? I had trouble those first couple of weeks, but now I feel really good about everything. Let's stay in touch!
