Anna - I have also be classified as High Risk, but only because it is an ICSI baby and the fact that I am 35. Apparently according to my midwife it just means that we will get extra care and checks as they don't want to risk our preganancies with them being special. That made me feel a bit better.

I hope everyone else is well. I think the sickness is starting to subside a little bit now, although I am still tired alot of the time. Next week I am off to Paris with DH for our wedding anniversary. We are going to travel by coach to avoid flying. I know everyone says it is safe but I just don't want to risk it.

It is good to hear that some of you are showing. I had OHSS early on in my pregnancy and had to measure my waist measurement every day. I used a piece of ribbon for this with a knot at the starting point. During the OHSS I gained around 5 inches and 6 pounds of weight which I have gradually lost. Anyway today I have now gained nearly an inch on my waist and have put a whole pound back on which I am really pleased about.

Our next appointment is the NT scan, which I am waiting for a date for. Then I have to see the midwife at 16 weeks. I can't believe that will be half way through December. I can't believe where this year has gone to. It does only seem like yesterday that we started on this journey, even though it was christmas last year.

I will write more to you all soon
Angela

Hi girls,

It is amazing but nice at the same time to hear that the girls around the 14/15 week mark seem to all share the same growing pains. I don't think there's much we can do about the waking in the middle of the night thing. Shall we look at it positively and treat it as training for when the babies come??? :-) I know its silly but.... I'll be 15 weeks in 2 days and I've put on 1Kg so far from week 0. My midwife said that there is absolutely no need to eat for 3 particularly as I was a bit overweight to start with. So I am pleased that I haven't been piling it on. Not until the 3rd trimester I hope as every corner I turn people are scaring me with HOW BIG I AM GOING TO BE WITH TWINS that I won't be able to move :-(

It has been a big day today, I haven't been working for the last 3 months and today's the first day back. No one has spotted the bump yet (hoorah, I'm still fitting into my business suit) and one or two even commented that I look blooming :-) Aren't we all supposed to be blooming marvellous at this stage ladies????

Lots of love &
Thank you all for your caring friendship
Rittie

Anna.....yeah well....I have to say that my appointment yesterday was uneventful...although we did get to hear one of the baby's heartbeats.

He says the babies are too close together to get both right now. I did not get a scan.... :(

I know that I am impatient but it will be 8 weeks since I have seen them by the time I have my next one with the specialist on the 29th of this month.

Everything looks good. They measured my belly, etc. I haven't gained any weight since my last appointment 4 weeks ago. I asked him if this was ok. I have only gained 5 pounds total.

My due date is May 7th!! (with a 40week pregnancy_

Have a great day everyone!

Hello you lovely ladies

Hope you are all ok. As you can see I can't sleep either. Tonight mine was a hypo which has got me up so a cuppa and some biscuits for me!

I'm still getting up every hour to go for a wee! Sleeping on your left side is supposed to be the best but who can sleep on one side all night long? I can't lay on my back for long even if I wanted to, it's just too uncomfortable. I bought one of those v shape nursing pillows from Mothercare and I wedge it between my legs, I find it really helps. They are great too with breastfeeding later on - especially with twins or if you are having a section.

I mentioned the cramping/stabbing pains to my midwife last week. She says we will go through spouts of getting them, it's as everything grows, although uncomfortable, completely normal. It feels like the little one has a knife in there sometimes!

Paul got to feel the baby the other day which was nice. I've been really lucky and been feeling movement since week 10 but he managed to feel it from the outside. It makes him feel part of the pregnancy now.

I'm massive, I've put on 3 stone already (42lb). I think a lot of mine is the steriods though. I look like Violet off Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - after she's turned into a blueberry! My face looks deformed where it's gone so round  only four more weeks on them then hopefully I will go back to "normal" whatever that is!

Anna at my hospital if you are over 40 you are automatically high risk. You will get more appointments so get to hear your little one more often, you will also be closely monitored.

Angela have a wonderful time in Paris. I could do with that right now!

I've got the consultant tomorrow so will hear the little one again. We have also booked a gender scan for Saturday so hopefully we will see what it is. I will keep you posted.

Sorry for no personals but it's nearly 1am!

Take care all

Jo

Finally Made it Here!

Post by Emmie »

I finally made my way over from the 1st trimester list…if you still have room for another set of twins! My due date is May 29, though they will probably come a few weeks earlier. I had a 10 week scan this week and saw both babies dancing around. It was awesome!

I’m still scared about something going wrong, but H and I are slowly starting to tell people the good news on a case-by-case basis. We’re so attached at this point, it’s not like we could pretend they never existed if something were to happen. They look good so far, and I pray they stay that way!!! Next appt is right Nov. 22, and we’ll get a VHS tape and some 3-D pictures to share at Thanksgiving dinner. This could be the best Thanksgiving we’ve ever had.

Hi everybody,
i just had my 16 week scan on thursday everything went well.
they did an u/s just to chek that babies are fine and i just found out sex of one baby coz he was really cooperative. one is a boy n other one did't cooperate :)
it was so good to see them both after 4 weeks.
I m concerned about one thing coz baby A(boy) is measuring 16w4 and baby B is measuring 15w4 days. dr said its normal but i could't satisfy myself. Does this happen with nybody else. Is that normal difference of one week between two babies?
now i ll see my babies again on 5th Dec then hopefully we will find out the sex of other baby too.
take care everybody
love

Hello,

Just popped on quickly to let you know we went for a scan today and we are expecting a girl. The girls are so pleased, the little ones didn't mind what we have as long as it was a girl! So Ellie it is. I'm off shopping now.

Hope the rest of you are ok. Will be on next week to talk to you all properly.

Take care

Jo

Hi ladies, how is everyone today? Hope all enjoyed weekend!

Angela, thanks for reassurring post about being high risk. Funny, as I have never felt better ...eating well, sleeping well and people say I am blooming and looking well. I do hope it means that we will be looked after well.

Jo congrats on your little girl. You can start shopping for pink now!!

Sarali, congrats on your little boy...it won't be long until Dec and you can see them again. Hopefully you can find out what flavour the other beanie is then. I'm sure the Dr would have said if he was worried about the size of the babies...please try not to worry!

Welcome Emmie, many congrats on being pg! Wow and with twins...well done you! Good luck with next scan...those 3D pictures are amazing.

Michelle sorry to see you were disappointed at your scan. But you did hear a heartbeat...wasn't it amazing?

Rittie, hope work isn't too bad. Isn't it a bit of a shock going back after being off for so long? You must be very good at hiding your bump. Colleagues of mine say that I am failing miserably and it is soooo obvious that I am pg..ah well!

Our list, sorry for mistakes

Hi Girls, what's with our quiet board? I hope everyone is doing well! I have a question for you all. How has your circulation been? I am in an evening teacher education program at a college that is about an hour and 20 minutes from my house. The past 2 times I went, I noticed my right foot lacks circulation and goes numb. The first time it was my arm too, and last night it was my foot only. Both times it feels warm and funny, and it stays that way for a couple of days! I am assuming it is circulation. Anyone else having trouble with numbness?

Thanks! Hope you are having a good week.

Hi -
I just popped in to say that I came back from an ultrasound and we are expecting a boy! He had his behind up in the air so even I could tell what I was looking at. I am very excited - we were sort of hoping for a boy! Next ultrasound is Dec 4 and my due date has been adjusted to April 27 from May 1, although it seems to change each time I have an ultrasound. Do your MDs do that too - change the due date based on the ultrasound measurements?

Where is everyone? Off enjoying pregnancy I suppose.
I haven't posted much because things have been uneventful. My constant hunger has finally subsided and I'm not sleeping all of the time like in the first trimester. Other than my growing belly, I feel 'normal' (whatever that is).
No pains, no cramps, no spotting....just uneventful thank God!
I have a Level 2 u/s set for 11/29. We are so excited! DD gets to miss school to go with us to see her two new siblings.
Glad to see that some of you now know to prepare for girls or boys. Can you beleive we are already that far along? 15 weeks, 2 days for me already...time is flying by!

Hi ladies, happy Sunday. Hope everyone enjoying their weekend.

Lucy, sorry can't help with your query about numbness and circulation. Have you spoken to your Dr about it? I'm sure it's probably another one of those pg symptoms that sometimes occurs!

Dione, I agree that the time is flying by. I too feel 'normal' except for fat belly. At an annoying inbetween stage were my clothes feel tight but maternity clothes a little too big!

Claudia, hello and welcome. Congrats on your boy! I know what you mean about due dates changing! I even created a new post to see if others had had the same experience! Mine have ranged from 3rd April to 12th. I really don't mind as long as it stays after 1st April ..... there are changes in the law regarding maternity pay starting April 1st 2007!!!

Our list, sorry for mistakes
Jo, one girl beanie :D Due 15th March
Wendy,twins :D :D Due 5th April
Rileydee one beanie :D Due 9th April
Anna, one beanie :D nxt scan 23rd Nov Due 9th April

Hello ladies,
First thanks for all your thoughts about the loss of Twin B. We are finally accepting it and moving on and trying to stay focused on Twin A. We are very greatful that we one but mourn the loss of the other. He/she will hopefully be watching over his/her sibling during the rest of the pgy.
I had my first ob appt on Friday and i was 12 weeks. I haven't gained any weight probably due to the fact that all do is puke. The doc was not real concerned at this stage with weight gain as i am already quite overweight and they don't want me gaining anymore then 15 pounds for this pgy. I get so tired of hearing you know you are fat and should lose some weight----no kidding doc it took you how many years of college for you to tell me that. Maybe after the baby is born i will try. He did presribe a med for the vomitting--phenegren. And also said i could take pepcid ac for the heartburn. I started both of them on friday and i feel so much better---not a 100% yet but alot better. And i haven't vomitted since thursday. Still pretty tired.
That is about it. Now that i am feeling better i plan on being much more supportive--i am so sorry to have not been here to be a support to you ladies.

Morning girls,

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Just wanted to say hello and I hope that everyone's pregnancy is going well. I'm doing quite well, I think I'm getting more energy and have gone back to feeling little to no pregnancy symptoms. They said this could be the case in the 2nd trimester isn't it. I did think hmmmm, are the babies still alright but then banished that thought quickly as really, why shouldn't they be????

I was not working for 3 months and only returned 2 weeks ago. I'm coping OK but my new bedtime is 9pm. I still suffer from broken sleep which is annoying but still better than nausea. Besides my boss, no one knows yet, I can't wait to exclaim ' no, I didn't eat all the minced pies at Christmas, I'm 5 months pregnant, how stupid are you boys'???? hehehe  Like Anna, I'm in between clothes at the moment. My suits still fit but are getting tight, pregnancy clothes are still a bit big. Like Bridget, I'm a bit overweight to start with and the midwife did say don't concern myself about putting on weight until the 3rd trimester as the body will adopt to the pregnancy and the babies will use what I have stored there. So far I've put on 1Kg since conception and although I no longer have a waist and look rather round (not pregnant, just round), I am hoping not to put on anything until the 3rd trimester. Bridget, don't concern yourself if the doctors are picking on you about weight, sounds like he can't think of anything useful to say. I do agree as long as we conciously try not to put on too much weight during the pregnancy, we have the time in the world after the birth to look at losing some. Now is not the time or place to lose, just keep track.

We've started looking at cots and buggies on the weekend. This is all so exciting. Its too early to buy anything yet of course but I don't feel guilty looking at shops anymore.

Lots of love
Rittie
