Our Babies Are Here (Ahart)

Post by ahart »

:D
Hi ladies...well the beanies would not stay in any longer...I went into labor on the 21st and was admitted and released on the 22nd,,,went back on 10/24/06 at 2am with contractions that were 2-4 min apart and would not stop, they wanted to give me more brethine,,,,I declined so they stated I was still at 2 cm dil...since sunday 10/22....so they wanted to wait to see if my cervix was going to change...well I was at 35 wks to be exact and would not take any pain meds to ease the contractions b/c it would slow them down and my progress...the nurse I had was new and being trained so when the Dr arrived at 7:00 pm after delivering 3 c-sections he checked me and I was at 4 cm so he stated "we have to deliver them tonight"...but before the Dr arrived they sent in a neonatalogist and she was very rude...she kept asking me why would'nt I take the medication and why would I want to harm the babies....they need to stay in there for at least one more week and that their lungs are not developed, they would be on a breathing machine with tubes in them and would have to be fed via feeding tube...I stayed calm and told her that she does not know if their lungs are developed or not and it could vary as far as their health....I told her that we have faith in, THE LORD, and the beanies will be ok...The spinal was wonderful and to me better than the epi..I was blessed to have the best nurses in the OR and postpartum floor...My husband and I were crying when they pulled them out and heard their first cry.

The neo Dr stayed around to find out if what she was telling me was true...not..she had mud rubbed in her face and I hope she learned her lesson...

Anias Christian was born at 8:52pm <5lbs 1 oz, 18 1/2 inches
Demari Aidin was born at 8:54pm < 5lbs 1 oz, 18 inches

No problems at all and we were released on friday evening, I kept the beanies in my room through the entire stay...I'm very tired from the section.

Today, the babies are eating well and gaining weight. They both have different personalities and they love sleeping next to each other. They actually sleep better that way, I guess it makes them feel like they're still in my womb.

Demari has gray eyes and Anias has Hazel eyes, and they both have different blood types. Demari looks like his father but has my blood type and Anias looks like me but has his fathers blood type. My husbands blood type is O+ and I'm A+, we asked the Dr how could they have different types and he informed us that it's b/c of my DH..

Ahart, congrats again! Isn't it fun to see how different and unique they are? Mine are opposites in so many ways too. It's fun sleeping them together, isn't it? I love my pictures of them sleeping side by side. Find time to get rest and enjoy your babies!!!

Wonderful news - way to go sticking to your guns!

And welcome to the world, little ones! My girls were just a little bigger, so that's a good size for twins.

Congratulations!!!!!

Well done on the birth of you're precious angels, I'm sure that they have a very special angel watching over them always....

They have beautiful names. My son Maqkai weighed 5lb 9oz and my daughter Jessenia was 5lb 2oz. Reading your story reminds me of when I had them... I can't believe that it's been 5 months already!

Enjoy every moment that you spend with them, I do with my twins, especially as I waited so long for them!

Congratulations again on the new additions. Much Love.

Ahart, are they identical or fraternal? They seem to look a lot alike. Cute pictures! How are you doing? Are you adjusting well? Getting any sleep? Constant feedings, huh?? I can hardly keep up with how much mine want to eat.

:D Hi KristiA

They're fraternal, although my family and DH keep getting them mixed up. When I returned home the first few nights were something else, and yes I cried like a baby at times due to the c-section and not because of feeding/changing ther babies... it was the pain and discomfort and lack of energy..good thing was that my mother and SIL were here..then mom left, however my SIL stayed an additional week which was a GOD SEND...They're consuming about 3 oz every 3 hrs..so far and very hungry they are...hahaha....I actually ended up breastfeeding them a few nights to give thme some help with immunity b/c DH has a cold and passed it to everyone in the house except for me and the pups....so we made him sleep in the other room, and he had to wear masks and gloves....
