I am 6 weeks today and miserable with morning sickness that lasts all day and wakes me up at night. Does anyone have any suggestions to help with my nausea?

I do not have morning sickness but I do feel bad all day. I make sure my stomach does not get empty. I eat a little something as soon as I dont feel right. So it is not easy, because when you dont feel good, you dont feel like eating, but it does the trick for me! I do not leave the house without a little snack in my bag, just in case.
I hope it helps
good luck

I try to make sure my stomach doesn't get empty. I wear motion sickness bands, dab oils behind my ears, put my feet in warm water, etc, etc....nothing seems to work. My stomach is just a disaster and it's only been 6 weeks! I'm so afraid this is going to get worse!

So I dont know what else you can do, you have tried a lot already...
With most pregnancies, nausea stops with the third month... So I know you are not there yet but tell yoursels that it wont last forever...
Also if you are taking progesterone, it might make things worst...So maybe your doc will tell you to stop soon
I do hope it gets better
sorry I cannot really help

Thanks - I called the doctor this morning, hoping for some help. Because I'm also having terrible diarrhea, I think it's related to my pre-natal vitamins. They have made me really sick before and I quit taking them for 11 days, but starting them again and now I'm sick again.
I appreciate your help!

I had really bad morning sickness nausea - probably as I was pregnant with twins?!, but I found that the only thing which helped my symptoms was wearing travel sickness bands - 24 hours a day - for 6 months!!!
Hi Brit,
I know how bad it can be. I've been suffering with the nausea for the whole time too, I'm at 12 weeks now and it IS starting to get a little bit better. No one quite understands just how difficult it can be (unless they've been pregnant!). I too have tried everything. I got these little soup crackers, near the saltines in the market, they have helped a bit. Pineapple chunks have helped a little bit too. Oh and licking and sniffing lemon wedges really helped a lot. And one more thing (this was a biggie I think), at 9 weeks my doc let me off the progesterone suppositories, I was on 3 a day. I actually think it alleviated it a little bit, not much but a bit and every little bit helped.
My best wishes to you and your little one.

My morning sickness started out like yours and got progressively worse. It was so bad at 12 weeks that I had to go on an IV for 2 weeks since I couldn't keep anything down. My doctor prescribed me Zofran which is safe for pregnancy and has helped dramatically. I didn't stop getting sick until week 19 so it was quite a relief to have some medicine that wouldn't hurt the baby and also kept me sane.
I too make sure my stomach never got empty and had a dry cracker biscuit as soon as I feel odd. That worked. The thing that totally stopped the sickenss for me was accupunture. I would go for a session and the nausea and sickness dissappears for a week. Might be worth trying.
