Question ref progesterone

Tomorrow is the last day of my two week wait. Throughout the two week wait I have been taking progesterone vaginal capsules. Does progesterone actually prevent your period from starting?

I was thinking to wait to see if my period starts on Monday, before contacting my doctor for a blood test. I have a couple of HPTs ready to hand too.

Anyone have an answer?

I was also taking progesterone vaginal capsules for the last 3 IVFs, I always got AF 2 or 3 days after the blood test. But some women got AF even when they were taking progesterone vaginal capsules. So it really depends. As long as you have not got AF, it is a good sign. And having sore breasts is also a good sign according to my doctor.

I didn't take suppositories, but the injections. Once I stopped, AF came about 3 days later.
