Hi guys,

Just been reading over all your last posts and too much has happened to reply to all but congrats to those who have had their scans and have great results.

I am only a newbie as I only got my BFP on tuesday. My first "Official" Obs appointment is Nov 29th but I am a radiographer which means I have ultrasound at my dispossal all day long.....very tempting!

I had a peek today but it is too early to see anything. I have to be patient and wait a week! Something I did see that is worrying me is a lot of free fluid in the abdomen and my ovaries are still very large. I don't know what this means (ultrasound is not my speciality - I do CT). I have a bloated tummy, but just thought I had put on weight. I have had no pain to suggest hyperstim, but this has to be what it is right?

Hope you and your beanies are all well!

Hey Em, congratulations!

Your ovaries will normaly be larger than normal for a while (mine still are) and for the fluid, yes, it must be from your eggies. I think everyone get more or less of this fluid and obviously a lot when you hyperstim.
I did and because I was feeling very bad, I had a scan done (my tummy, my back) and I never saw a radiologist getting so scared!! He obviously never did a scan to an "IVF" lady!!

I hope you will be able to see your beenie soon

Ophee - my OHSS started at 6dp5dt. I saw the first doc on day 7 who said I only had mild OHSS, but told me it could take 8 weeks to susbside-yikes!

On day 10, my regular doctor did a scan (the first doc did not) and told me the OHSS had progressed to moderate, but that the weight gain should be stopping soon. At 14dp5dt, I finally stopped gaining weight and on day 16, I started to slowly lose the fluid - a 1/2 pound to a pound a day. The doctor said he only expected me to have this about 3 weeks total. This is my third week and by Sunday, by weight should be back to normal.

Hope this helps!

Congratulations Nance!! Twins is awesome!!

Well, I have had a tough morning so far. I woke up having had some very light spotting overnight . . . and I got very scared! It was actually more like staining than spotting but I have had cramping on and off since ET and so I started getting panicky. After calling my clinic, they said that I should not worry as I am not bleeding and the spotting I had was so slight and is very common in early pregnancy. Still it was a shock to see and I am still worried. They have put me on bed rest until Monday (my next HCG) with instructions to call if spotting starts again, gets worse and definitely if I start bleeding at all. So I am now very nervous and feeling very insecure and doing my best to not worry as the clinic nurse didn't feel I should worry but still . . .

Monday will tell if the pregnancy is still progressing well but it is hard to wait!

Anyone else had any spotting or staining at all? I need some positive stories!

Jen J,

Please try not to stress. I had full out bleeding with both of my boys. I was hospitalized repeartedly with it and they had no explaination back then. Relax, stay rested and read! I was put on bedrest for most of my sons' pregnancies. It was hard, but worth it. I have all my fingers, toes, legs etc. crossed that the Lovenox, Aspirin, Folgard will do their stuff and keep me from having all those worrisome problems. So far, so good. I wish you loads of luck!

Finally, after 3 long weeks, my OHSS seems to be gone. Only to be replaced by morning sickness that lasts all day. Unable to function, I called the doctor yesterday who called me in a prescription for Zofran - an anti-nausea medicine that they give to chemo patients. I hate to take any kind of medication, but I couldn't stand it anymore. I held off taking it until today, and it did take the edge off so I could get off the couch.

Anyone else suffering from morning sickness??

I had my second scan on Saturday, 3 days following my first scan that didn't show clear picture. Yes, this time it's clearer. And we can see 2 sacs ... it's twins!! My DH and I were so excited ... am very happy to see that. One beanie shows very clearly ... with the yolk sac inside the circle. The other beanie didn't show that well, just able to see the big sac. So, my RE had put my on both progestorene capsule and PIO every day :? ... he said it's better for the beanies.

Brit, thanks for your information, it definitely helps a lot. The doctor in the hospital told me that the OHSS should last until 10-12 weeks, and my RE told me at least until 6 week. But I started to feel better at 19dpt ... and with very unclear u/s. Whew! Which mean we are more or less the same.

Yes, Brit, I had morning sickness too ... it started at week 4 and getting worse at week 5. After the OHSS settled, it's really kicking in badly. I felt like threwing up whenever I smell any food. Am not able to eat much ... so I had already lost 2 lbs from my original weight (after the weight lost from the OHSS). Even though it's morning sickness, it doesn't start early in the morning, only at around 10:00am. So, I tried to eat something before that. The doctor said it's started early and feel really bad is due to twins, twins will give me more unpleasant feeling than just one. :?

Cheers

Ophee - Congratulations on your twins! How exciting for you! I am wondering if that means twins for me as well?! My hcg numbers have been high like yours, plus the OHSS, AND the terrible morning sickness. My scan is next Monday, which will be at 5 weeks post transfer. I can't wait!

Yogi - I had unusually high hcg numbers from the beginning
(246 @ 7dp5dt, 1409 @ 11dp5dt, 2790 @ 14dp5dt) so twins is a possibility which increases my chances of morning sickness this early. On the other hand, my boobs aren't swollen or sensitive!

Ophee-Congrats on the twins! That's great news!

Racheal-Thanks for your words of encouragement. I was really worried on Friday and over the weekend but the cramps have subsided now and the spotting has not returned-thank goodness! I thought it was all over on Friday!

I had my 3rd hcg this morning and it was 26698 at 26dp3dt. I was pleased that it has increased as I was so worried after the spotting and cramping I was having over the weekend. Our scan is on Wednesday-can't wait!

Hope everyone is well!

Good Afternoon Ladies,

I hope everyone is doing well. I have been MIA for a few days because I have been busy at work lately. Wow things really are moving along for everyone. I have lots of posts to catch up with.

Jeck - Good Luck at your appointment on Monday. Let us know how it goes. I am so excited that you guys are starting the adoption process. It is so exciting. Are you planning on doing an international or domestic adoption?

txpacotaco, thook, JenJ, Yogi, Believebaby - Wow! so many scans tomorrow. Good luck! I hope it goes well. Let us know how it goes.

JenJ - I'm so glad your numbers went up. I know how hard it is not to worry but those numbers must put your mind at ease a little.

Ophee - How is the morning sickness. I hope you are feeling a little better at least. Do you work or are you able to stay home and take it easy?

Yogi - I don't have morning sickness either yet (I am knocking on wood as I type) and I am 6 weeks today. I am hoping that means that we will be of the lucky ones that won't get it so bad. I can dream can't I.

Brit 10 - How are you feeling? I hope the medicine is making it easier for you.

I am sorry if I missed anyone.

As for me I'm doing ok. I'm not due for my next scan until next Tuesday and am enjoying not having to run to the Dr's every other day. I have stopped taking the PIO shots and am now on the progesterone suppositories (which I am getting used to) and estrace I can't wait until those will be done also. My emotions are all over the place these days. I am still worried to death about everything and feel overwhelmed but I am just trying to take it a day at a time. Does everyone else worry so much or is it just me? I wish there was a switch on the back of my head which I could just turn off for a few minutes to stop the worrying. How does everyone else deal with it. I was thinking about trying to learn how to knit because it might help me relax. Any other ideas?

Take care everyone.

Jessica,

I know you are still here. I am praying hard for your DR appointment to yield good news! We miss your sparkle here! I have gone to the other threads for an update on you. Your frosties will be there just waiting for you to be ready. As far as an adoption, it is up to you. As you may remember, one of our fellow pregers has done an adoption and she is very happy. I know we are still hoping to help the girl from my husband's country, but my MIL has put her foot down and told us she wants to do it! I am not going to fight her, but I do hope Evelyn (the little girl) gets a home regardless. I am sending you loads of love doll!

Your fellow IVF rat!

Nance,

I know exactly what you mean! I am forever worrying. I worry that I am adding too much stress by continuing school, being a cub scout leader, and a busy bee of a mom! I worry that my oldest is feeling left out because he does not interact with me or the baby, whereas my youngest one comes in every morning to say good morning to the baby and give my tummy a kiss. I worry that I am taking a shower that is too hot or eating the wrong foods (my latest craze is spicy food!).

We are just going to have to try to ignore this little broadcasts! I know that our bodies should be able to handle this and worrying only make it worse.

Good luck!
