ss,
Keep positive hun, all you need is one good one to get PG. It has happend and it will for you too. I'll be sending good follie vibes to you all this week. ((hugs))

Well, I did my own PIO shot last night. I didn't get it done untill around 7:30, because I was playing 'aim the dart' for awhile before I could actually stab myself. It was not very painful, although it was very awkward. It was a stretch of a reach. once I got the needle in, I tried to pull he plunger back a bit to check for blood, but felt like I might fumble the whole thing, so I just injected it right in. Took forever! I'm injecting 2cc, that's like 2/3 of the whole sarringe. I drew a hot bath and went in before the shot to warm everything up, then went back in afterwards and massaged the area. all in all it went pretty good, but my injection site is a little sore. Tonight I'll draw a hotter bath and maybe get out the electric massager.

Hi girls I need input from those who ever experienced OHSS, even mild. I am not having OHSS right now, but as you know, I had my HCG shot last thursday, and my ER yesterday. My last estrogen levels the day after HCG shot were in the 4800's, so my RE is asking me whether I want to freeze the embies and go to a FET next cycle or go on with the transfer. I have no symptoms whatsoever, nor have I gained weight, I am feeling great. But they say that the symptoms come about 1 week after HCG shot. What are your experiences about this?, when did you start experiencing symptoms? what were your estrogen levels?, please I need to make a decision and I need your help!!!. For now I told them that I want to go on with the tranfer and they said it was ok.... Image

ellie, I hope you get some excellent eggies, good luck with ET and ER!

Vicky,
I've never had OHSS. I just want to wish you the best of luck. I thought women are more at risk when they have like over 20 or so follies. I hear drinking lots of water helps with preventing OHSS. I know it's hard to make the decision to cancel you ET, especially when you really want to get PG. I hope you can go ahead with ET this week without problems.

ss-I know how you feel. I'm glad to hear that you are going to continue. I am kinda in the same boat. I went in for bw and us yesterday and the doctor mentioned the c word to me, but later it was decided to continue. I won't get the final answer until Tuesday.

Elliecat- What time is your ER? Going out is a good thing during this crazy time. I hope you had fun.

Vicky- I'm sure your decision was a tough one. Keep us posted!

Hopeful-It sounds like your shot was a success. For how long do you have to do them yourself? I like the idea of the bath and massager. I hope it works for you.

gbnut- I'm sorry that has happened to you. If things don't change, then I may be in the same boat. What questions would you have asked that you didn't. I wouldn't know where to begin. I would be trusting that the docs know what they are doing. What would you suggest?

Can someone helpby explaining what the numbers mean in terms of follicles. A lot of you know your numbers and seem to have a good idea as to what they mean? What is the ideal number? It would be very helpful to me when I go in for my next ultrasound on Tuesday. Thanks and take care!

Kristen- So pleased to hear your good news. Sounds like you are now feeling more postive. Keep up that PMA! And enjoy the party.

Vicky- Great number of embryo's well done! Bet you can't wait to hear how they are getting along. I can't really offer you any advice on the OHSS issue as I wasn't told any of my blood levels. But last cycle I had 19 eggs and did suffer from mild OHSS. After EC I felt ok but the clinic did just keep saying drink and rest. I feel that if you feel ok before ET then go for it. Hope your resting.

SS- fingers crossed that your scan tomorrow shows those follies have grown well.

Hopeful- Well done on giving yourself the shot. I really don't know how you did it, very impressed. I really cannot moan about my injections as I don't have to do any IM shots. Keep up the good work-does DH work every evening?

Ellie and KF- Thinking of you bath for EC tomorrow.

I am just stimmimg now until Fri, when I have next BT and scan. So hopefully will be a quiet week for me, fingers crossed! Just been watching Pride and Prejudice which DD brought me for my birthday. Love a good 'love story'. Ready for my bed now.
Take care all

Casy,
I just saw that movie last week. I really liked it. DH liked it too, funny because he complained when it came in the mail (netflix). He said "you'll have to watch that boring girlie english movie by yourself". Yes, DH works every evening. Monday and Tuesdays he's off, so he will do the shots for me.

wannababy, I'm not sure how long I have to do the PIO shots. Hopefully for awhile after I get my BFP.

I got a phone call from the Dr. Image

He got my blood work back and decided I'm ready for my hcg shot. I will have my ER on Tuesday at 10 am. Let's rock and roll I'm so excited. I can't wait to be relieved of this pain in my ovaries and bloating. Although I have 20 follies I wonder how many eggs I will have? We shall see. Keeping my fingers crossed for a good number. Talk to you all later.

I am so excited for all of you. It's so funny, because obviously I've never met any of you, but justing hearing about your progress makes me so hopeful and positive about this experience.
I have learned so much from this site (and yet I pay the doctor all the money--really not fair--it should go to you all.)
One quick question--I did my first shot of repronex this morning (actually DH did it and I think he had a harder time with it than I did--I finally had to yell at him to "just stick me already") and I felt ok but then got a massive headache that pretty much wiped me out all day. Any one else have this problem? I'm worried that if it continues I'll have to take even more time off of work because there is no way I could have handled it.
Anyway, thanks again for sharing your experiences...you may not realize it, but just knowing that others out there are going through this is such a help!

Kristin, congratulations!!!, good luck with your HCG shot!!!

Meg, I don't know what to tell you, I never experienced any side effects from the stim meds, even less headaches, see if it happens again, maybe it was coincidental, maybe you were stressed out about starting the stim shots??, I hope some of the other girls can give you more input than me...... :? Good luck !!!!!

I just had my first PIO shot, I prepared my warm cloth, my heating pad, and BUM, my DH gave me the shot, in this case the shot itself hurt a little bit more than the HCG one, but while he was injecting I did'n feel anything, wonder if icing it might help with the shot....., maybe I'll try it tomorrow, but afterwards I heated it very well first with the hot cloth and then with the heating pad, let's see how my bum feels tomorrow

Good luck Ellie and Angellica with your ER, and Kelly with your ET!!!!

KF 06 how did your ER go???????

Vicky, I think every one is different. My estrogen level last time was 6350. I had mild-moderate symptoms the day of egg retrieval and the next day, and then nothing afterwards at all. This time my estrogen is even higher and I'm going through with the transfer. I have been drinking 32oz gatorade, 2-3 protein drinks a day, and water to try and help with things as the same thing happened right after retrieval. It's not gone this time, like last time, but it's better and tolerable. Now, I know things can get worse if you get pregnant, but my clinic is not advising to cancel. In fact, I'm doing some low doses of HCG after transfer to help with implantation. I'll let you know how things go. Good luck with your decision.
