nikola, i just know you are going to be the first to read this, so here goes.
i tested this afternoon, and i got a very faint positive!!!
i used a test you can use up to 3 days before your period is due, and when we got the results, i was.nt sure as 2nd line was so faint, but they assured me no matter how faint. that it is positive..
i would like some feedback from all you girls, i know i should.nt have, but I AM the sort of kid who opens pressies before i should!!!
help!!!!
what more can i say? only wait for replies
love jackie xxx
p.s. blame dagney, they tested early and i wanted what she had!!!!
jackie, hope you don't mind me butting in - i am not a doctor but i want to share something with you that my GP told me in july. i went to see him as my period had not arrived weeks past its due date and i had negative hpt's.

My GP told me that hpts DO NOT give false positives they only give false negatives which is why they cannot claim 100% accuracy. i asked him to to explain several times ( being thick - i know!). so in his words if a hpt shows negative then there is still a chance its positive and that early pregnancy hormones are not always concentrated enough to show up at such an early stage. he then went on to say that if a hpt result is positive then it's positive, as the pregnancy hormone has been detected.

so now i'm holding my breath... call your clinic, go have a blood test.

phil.
hi it's me again
thanks phil, your post prompted me to go down and test again, and lo and behold the 2nd pink line was even stronger this time, i can,t really take it in. i keep repeating ypur words in my head and DH is going around saying we are pregnant, and then asking me to read your post again.
we have blood test on friday, but i will ring the clinic tomorrow and see what they say.
so once again thanks.
where are you on your treatment? have not seen you before.
bye for now
love jackie xxx
OMG jackie... i'm keeping everything crossed for you both. everytime i walk into the room i keep loggin in to see if there's any news from you! but please keep in mind i just repeated what my gp told me.

where i am at is inbetween treatments. i see my consultant on oct 30th to decide what our next steps are. we have unexplained infertility, two - ivf's and now been told to try naturally. but i'm one of the 'older' lot so worried about time. i joined the site just a couple of weeks ago. it's great seeing so much positive news and makes me feel quite hopeful for us too.

from what you say i doubt that you'll let the clinic keep to the friday blood test, and who could blame you!

best wishes, crossing everything for you.
goodnight, phil.
a positive is a positive jackie!!!!!
congratulations!!!!!
and enjoy!

can I ask, what test did you take?

lots of love kathryn
x
Jackie, you are soooooooo naughty!!!!!!!! I knew you couldn't be left alone. I daren't get too excited in case its not true. But its bloomin fantastic news. I can't help but have a huge smile (oh and maybe the odd tear!) at the thought it might be true.

Now you going to know what I mean about doing hpt early...Friday is going to take even LONGER to get here now!!! Did you do your test in the morning or at night? My clinic told me to do it in the morning for a more accurate reading because the urine has to stay in your system for at least six hours. Maybe this will give an even stronger reading!!!

(Saying that, I did mine in the middle of the afternoon and it flashed up pretty damn strong!)

Gosh the excitement has made me feel even more sick than normal. This is just brilliant news. Please be extra careful now. Just take it easy and wait until Friday.......famous last words!

Soooooooooo excited for you!!
love nikola.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hi Jackie and many congratulations - when you see that line appear you just can't believe it can you!!? A positive result is just what it says - a test can't detect a "pregnancy" hormone in someone not pregnant y'know!!

I will never forget myself watching that little box, just WILLING that little line to appear, blinking in absolute amazement when I thought I could just see something, doubting my dodgy eyesight until it got a bit stronger - God it still gives me goosepimples now to think about it (I'm 17 wks pg now and the time has just flown!!)
I will never lose that feeling and I'm sure you'll be the same.

Rest now until Friday - enjoy every second. Love, Jo. XXX

hi all,
thanks for all the replies,
well i have tested again{3times} and the 2nd pink line is stronger each time, so.... looks like this is it ...
i phoned the clinic, and nurse confirmed what you all said, positive is positive, DH is actually carrying around in his car one of the hpt's, he says he keeps looking at it and smiling,
now we have the blood test on friday, does anybody know about count? and what we should be looking for? what will sound like single and twins and yes even triplets{remember we had 3 put in}.
i just cannot believe this result..
a big thank-you to all who got me here, who kept me going through doubts, who cheered me up, and to all the wise words.
gosh i feel like i did that time at the oscars!!!!
love to all jackie xxx
Jackie

OMG I'd forgotten about having THREE put back!!!!

When you do your blood test they look for a HCG level of 50 to indicate a pregnancy, obviously the higher the level the more chance of a multiple pregnancy. Don't forget mine was 628!!

How bloody exciting is this!!! Make sure you post asap on Friday I'll be waiting to hear about your level. How funny if you have THREE!! You would!

Lots of love
nikola.xxxxx
Jackie
here i am posting you in the 2ww thread wishing you luck for tomorrow only to find that you are already positive. This is fantastic!!!! big congratulations to you and DH. that is such wonderful news. OMG 3 back in - possibly triplets - the mind boggles. Talk about an instant family. that is so so great. i think i would be doing about 20 hpts and storing them in different locations just to convince myself. Well done!
love kate xxx
