Lower back pain in early pregnancies

Post by souris »

Hello all

I was wondering if some of you suffer from back pain? Since week 6 I have some pretty bad back pain (nearly at the top of my bum). It cannot be because of the added weight as I am 10 weeks and Have not put weight on. So maybe it is just a coincidence but I am curious to know!

Thank you!

Hi souris

Do you stretch and or exercise?

I have had lower back pain over the past 4 years or so and have learned that I need to stretch and do low back exercises to keep the pain at bay.

I also see a chiropractor about once every 6-7 weeks.

Try some stretching exercises they really do help!

I had lower back pain from week 5 on. I have only gained 5 lbs...and still get it. I thought I was going crazy because it hurt especially when I walked. I went to the chiropractor for 1 adjustment and I feel fine!

Lisa thank you, I will try the stretching. It is just weird it happen just when I get pregnant. I plan to se a chiropractor , but I want to have my 12 weeks scan before to see if all is alright!

Michelle It also hurts when I walk! I feel like i am 70 years old! I took my grand 'ma shopping and she had to wait for me (she is 84!)

Thanks for your advices ladies

souris...hello...and congratulations on your pregnancy.....

i started getting a sore back in the early weeks of my pregnancy..... and im still suffering.... i feel as if im 73 never mind 33!!!!
the doctor told me it was my muscles relaxing because of pregnancy and all the hormones rushing around your body makes everything more relaxed to prepare the body for pregnancy and delivery.... im pregnant with twins so the added weight also is a factor.....
im thinking of asking about reflexology or another form of therapy to see if it helps....but we will see.....

take care and best wishes
