Hi all
Sorry have waited until now to post. It is a bank holiday weekend in Sydney so I have been sitting back and relaxing after the EC. So far I have had good news. They collected 14 eggs on Friday and the lab has since called to tell me 11 of those have fertilised. This morning (day 3) all were still dividing (although 1 is a bit slower than the others) which according to them is an excellent result although there are still 2 whole days to go.

Becky - the embies will be blastocyst by the time they put them back in on Wednesday. After the EC on Friday the scientist told me that we could only expect a third of the fertilised embies to make it to the 5th day. My clinic uses this technology all the time but I think they may be the only one is Sydney that does so. They switched to it a few years ago and have said it caused their success rates to increase significantly. I am not sure about that because you would think all the clinics would be doing it if that was the case. Anyway, the theory is that only the strongest embies make it to the 5th day and therefore whatever they put back in has a better chance of embedding. However, I get so nervous every morning waiting for the phone to ring with the lab calling to tell me whether our little embies have made it through the night - and I have never had a longer 5 days before. What is the 2ww going to be like?? aghhhhhhh. the bright side is I have taken the oppotrunity the have a few nice cups of tea for what i am hoping will be quite a long time!

Welcome to the OCBs Aly and Jssgps. Jssgps - are you a friend of Val's? I followed her progress on the SCBs. How fantastic that she was successful. Aly - best of luck with yoour scan tomorrow. I hope you can go ahead with the IUI soon.

Kathryn and Alison - I hope your FETs went well. I hope you are looking after yourselves. I will be joining you on the 2ww very, very soon so we will all be able to go completely crazy together!! Kathryn it sounds like you might have already started. that story about peeing had me lol (by the way thanks for the info on the water and the OHSS - that sounds dreadful)

July ann - thanks so much for looking in on us and wishing us luck.

Traci - Good luck with the cycling with your cousin. It sounds like you have planned it very very well. It must be a good omen.

Lorraine - On your Mrs Angry question, I find that I am mrs angry, mrs tearful, mrs vague and just generally nutty when i am all pumped up on these hormones. poor DH has had to have the patience of a saint!

I must sign off - my posts are always so ridiculously long.

Good luck to everyone. I am thinking of you all.
Love Kate xxx

Kate
Thats fantastic news and it all sounds very possitive. I bet you are going out of your mind with worry! Im not sure wether they will do Blast on me or not yet I suppose it all depends on what my cousin produces :)

Aly
On to the next hurdle well done :) it feels great to be starting stims as this feels like you are nearly there, Great idea about the list.

Kathryn
Your Movie rental shop sounds cool :)

Gayla
I have not kept it a secret at all , I own my own salon and it is really dificult shifting everyone around when you have scans etc so I have just about told the whole world and its great cause when I had my last 2 icsi failiers they were so supportive. They all seem to know when to ask me or when to leave well alone which is great , this is not fro everyone I know but thats the best way Ive delt with it . I Milk the sympathy!!!!!!

Hi to everyone else :)

My story so far !
Well I inject burslin as from Wednesday and Mandy from Sunday , the clinic recon we will be doing EC and ET the week of the 3rd November which is much earlier than I thought , but they know best so I will just have to trust them!

Very Excieted I can tell you :) :) :)

Making lots of christmas cards today on my day off.

Love to all
Trace x

Hey gals,
Sorry have been out of action of late, we went to Sydney to catch up with the family, the good news though, is that I've finally surged!!!!!!...YAY!!!!!!!!!!!, we had ET today, both embies survied the thaw, and are happily (hopefully) in place...Was v. nervous re. embies "falling out" but my specialist assures me that there is some magntic type force that means that they stay put, needless to say, am still terrified of peeing them out, and had a cold shower tonight so my body temperature didn't rise too high (brrrrrrrrr!!!)
Re. the question of telling people, we've been pretty open and most of our friends and family know, has been useful when things went so wrong last time around, meant that we were very supported, also means though that often people don't know what to say..dh and I have just decided to let these comments pass (you all know those comments I'm sure!!), my personal favourite is "just relax...it'll happen" AHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Take care gals!
Belinda

Hiya girls
well scan went really well today have 2 maybe 3 follicles so thats great uterus is still in need of some development so they want me to go back on Thursday for another scan the possible IUI on Friday!!
one problem though, I have had severe stomach pains (like indigestion) for a week and have also had cystitis for 3 days told the consultant and he told me to get some antibiotics, I'm a bit worried about the indigestion thing as it's really sore and I'm finding it a bit hard to eat anything. I don't think the two are related as the indigestion started last week. Any ideas what to do??
well done lorraine start jabbing away! traci how are you doing?
Kathryn how are you getting on? Dolly thanks for thinking of me! vicki good luck on down regging! hope all you on the 2ww are doing nothing!! right I'm off to the loo again!!!! big hugs and positivity
Aly
xxx

Hello all

so much good news everyone seems to be doing well.
VickiB I was going to ask about bleeding, I have just started passing old blood (sorry!) I have been down regging since the 20th Sept I would have been due to start a period on the 18th Oct but started to bleed a bit yesterday. I presume this is normal although haven't checked with the clinic yet. Just hoped it would go away.
Lorraine brilliant news, would you prefer ICSI or IVF?
Aly pleased scan went well, but don't have any advice for your indigestion, sorry.
Kathryn how are you?
Good news Trace you must be pleased.
Bel they are in!! excellent, know exactly what you mean about the comments.
Alison B good luck and Dolly hope Thursday is okay and your cold has gone by then.
Kate hope you get good news tomorrow.
There are so many of us its hard to keep up, but positive thoughts to all.

Love Lisa xxxx

Hey again,
Am off work today, so had to check in with my OCB chicks, thanks for the ongoing support and guidance. This web site has been an absolute godsend.
Rang my clinic this morning with some questions (I had about half an hour with my specialist after the FET, but even then forgot some key questions!). The clinic say that hot showers are fine (just not really really hot), so long as the hot water runs on your back, not your tummy, apparently the core body temperatre can't get too high, means I showered backwards this morning, quite wierd really!!! I have a hairdresser appointment this afternoon, but the clinic recommend not getting a hair dye. The nurse I spoke with says they get a lot of hairdressers with fertility problems, and that avoidance to these chemicals at least for the first twelve weeks of a pregnancy is recommended...Means I will have a huge regrowth thing happening (oh my god!!, I'm not a natural henna!!), but what they hey! (my dh will take it the hardest!!!!!!!!!!!). They're pretty non definative re. sex after FET, they said there was a study done in Newcastle NSW, where of the patients who had sex after FET, 1/3 got pregnant, and of the patients who didn't have sex, 1/3 also got pregnant, they don't recommend either way, just that if you do do the horizontal folk dancing, that non-vigorous is the key, and watch the body temperature doesn't get too high, gee, guess that means no more hot steamy sessions in the sauna! (NOT!)..Has anyone else received simialr advice?
All the best gals
Belinda
