Just got back from our scan, and our embryo is 6 days behind schedule.

The embryo measured in at 5mm CRL, and the heart at 115 beats per minute. The doctor expected to see a 7-weeks gestational embryo but instead said that I am six days behind (i.e., the measurement indicates a 6 weeks 1 day embryo). She said it's too soon to tell if this is a problem, and that since my initial HCG level was lower than they normally see it could simply be that implantation occurred late.

Should get our latest HCG & progesterone levels later today.

Going back for a 2nd scan in a week. If the embryos measures 7 weeks 1 day all should be well, if it's behind it won't be good.

So many scans today! Good luck girls!!

I've been so busy with my all-day morning sickness that I haven't been around much  .

I've run out of options. I even went for acupuncture yesterday, but then threw up this morning, so apparently that didn't work. Nothing I eat (or avoid) seems to help with the constant nausea. Poor DH is at the store now on his lunch break, searching for foods that won't make me want to hurl.

I really feel like I've tried everything and don't know what else to do at this point. The only relief I get is when I'm asleep.

I go back to work tomorrow, which should be interesting. I hope I can make it.

tx - It sounds like everything will be fine. It makes sense that late implantation could be the issue....which I guess means that you get to be pregnant for an extra week! :D

TX- sounds like your scan went well overall. Wasn't it great to be able to see your little baby in there? I hope that everything goes smoothly for you now.... I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that your numbers look great and that your scan next week is right on target!

Good Luck,

Hello everyone! I missed you all!

Looks like everyone is doing well and progressing!

Brit10 I feel your pain about all day sickness. With my first child it was horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Try to keep your self hydrated, if you are unable to do that go to the hospital! Be cautious of fainting when you are getting sick allot! I hope you feel better soon.

txpacotaco, I am sorry the news at your scan wasn't as expected, but I had the same results with my son and he was born healthy and happy and THREE WEEKS LATE. I hope your next scan puts your mind at ease.

Thook, glad you are doing well.

Jeck you are a god sent and I am so happy you continue to share your talents and experiences with us. You are a very selfless person that I pray will be rewarded in the end. :-)

Well I look forward to seeing the results of the other scans. :-)

Take care ladies,
Cowgirl

Hi All!

Our scan today went really well-we have one strong embryo in there! Heartbeat was strong-it was really cool to see it on the screen-and the baby measured exactly 6 wks 3 days, which I am today. We have been released from the clinic. Not sure if I am happy about that-I thought that we got to stay with the clinic because they have a midwife and I have seen other pregnant women there but she said they only retain high risk patients and all others are referred back to their OBGYNs. I guess it is a relief to not be considered high risk but I now have to find an OBGYN that I like! I have been going to the clinic for so long-and they have taken care of my other women's issues (there haven't been many but paps and such). Oh well, it gives me somthing new to research!

yogi and txpacotaco-glad your scans went well. Txpacotaco-sounds like everything should be fine, very possible that the embryo implanted late. I'm sorry that you have this added worry but I bet everything will be fine!

Brit-so sorry you are feeling so awful! The almond idea sounds interesting . . . if you try, I'd love to know how it goes!

Take care all!!

txpacotaco, yogi, JenJ, glad to know that your scans when well. I am so happy for you. txpacotaco, I am sure everything is fine with your beanie, I had the same problem with my first pregnancy ... everything went well and I had a very healhty baby girl.

Jeck, nice to know that your adoption is in progress ... keep us posted with what's happening.

Brit, your morning sickness sounds really bad, I am so sorry to know that. Mine is bad, but I can still manage to stick something into my mouth. I have big problem when I smell food and feel extremely horrible with food that has strong aroma. My doc advise me to try with dry food like biscuits, toasts (which seems to work) ... at least you get something in your stomach. The feeling is extremely awful, I am constantly taking this dried plum that make me feel a bit better. The worse part is that I am constantly hungry and unable to eat, sigh!! :(

Brit, you high HCG number definitely tells us that there is more than 1 in there, how many? We are waiting for your scan next week. Your number seems to be much higher than mine, so, I can image more than mine. The other fact is that the more you have in there, the worse the morning sickness will be.

Nance, I stay at home. Actually, I quited my job in August just to get myself ready for this. I am glad I had did that, otherwise, I can't image how I can cope with that. :?

Does any one of you ladies has any side effect from the PIO shots? I feel extremely tired and very sore at my pelvis joints ... and sore thighs too. My doc added the daily PIO shot when he saw 2 beanies ... but I am wondering if I need that everyday. I have to do the shot in the clinic, the travel to and fro the clinic (more than 1 hour per trip) everyday is already very tiring.

Cheers

Good Morning Girls-

We had our scan yesterday and everything went great... the baby is measuring 1 inch (which puts me at 9 weeks 3 days). We also got to see & hear the heartbeat the time... it was 160BPM. All of the baby's major organs are there and working (from what they could see). Talk about a relief... I was so worried since I had some light spotting this past weekend.

I'm so glad to hear that everyone elses scans went so well... we're doing great girls!

Have a wonderful day...

It's so great to see everyone getting good news with their scans. Only three more days and it's finally my turn! October sure was a great month to get pregnant!

Started back to work today and managed to make it all day without one dash to the bathroom. I still have that constant feeling of nausea but being at work took my mind off of it.

I'm finding a few things that seem to settle my stomach a bit. Sipping regular Coca-Cola definitely helps, though I keep it to one can per day due to the caffeine (caffeine free doesn't work as good.) One of the girls at work today told me to suck on Lemonheads candy, and it really did help. I also bought some Preggie Pops candy at Motherhood and those seem to help as well. I'll be so happy when this has passed.

Brit- Glad to hear your feeling a little bit better... the only thing that seemed to help me was Root Beer. Plus Root Beer doesn't have any caffeine. See if that helps.... I guess it has something to do with the ginger that is Root Beer.

Good Luck-
