Good Morning!

Lara312- Thank you, Treatment it is certainly annoying but if i will have to go thru it 100 time to have my little miracle believe me i won't think on no pain just in my baby it took me 10yrs+ of my life trying to understand what was wrong with me and why me, Now i have completely knowledge on my "illness" and know how to handle it the emotion part of it is what is hard for me but Faith and believe and my family support helped me go thru my treatment and success!!! and i am very happy!!!! my baby is 2 yrs now and a little monster he is about 35+ pounds and about 37+ inches tall his father is 6 feet 1 inch so he is taking after his father i am only 5 feet so he is almost half of my size already, it is so Beautiful when my baby calls me mama and when he says I Love you mama!! it just don't get any better than that !!! well Good luck!

Carolynb- I am glad that my story gives hopes and good vibes to all of you, I only have one frosty and that is the one that we will be transferring hopefully around 1st 2nd week of Dec. It is hrad but not impossible i went thru a lot of emotional up's and down's but here i am a MOMMY and very happy and proud!! the pain, the wait, it is definitely worth it!!! that is for sure!!! Keep going an dgood luck on your 2nd IVF!!!

Shantala- Thanks, Actually he was born by a C-section not meaning that it didn't hurt , believe me i was 25 hrs in "labor" really the last 6hrs were the one that were bad, because my water broke at home on a Thursday about 3:45pm got to the hospital about 4:30pm , playing cards just really a few sharp pain here in there but then in the am hrs they induced me with pitusin bad stuff :) then pain began , i dilated to 9.50 and start pushing and my little one got stucked in the way out of the birth canal by his shoulders so they end it up doing an emergency section at 5:18pm my baby boy was born healthy !! at 7lbs and 15 ounces!!, My dr. told me already that i will be another candidate for the c-section again because of my history. :(( i went thru any Birht class possible to end it up with a c-section but all that it matters is that he was healthy!!!!

Becleo- Thank you, I need to hear more good stories about FTE and live birth that is good news for me thank you for sharing with me i really need this info-support.
I didn't expect to find people at all from Mass so it is very nice to know that there is woman with the understanding so close!!! like aunty said may be coffee one day!!! :)))

Good Vibes and Good Luck to all of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So much has happened in just the last two days.............. 8) . I tend to do the longer posts but less often!!! Sorry

Susette - Welcome to this wonderful thread. I was so happy to read your story of a BFP on your 1st attempt and a lovely baby boy. It gives us all such hope. I have 6 snow babies waiting for me. We decided to go for another Fresh cycle this time as I am off work (on sabbatical) so easier to deal with the fresh cycle and also the snow babies are thanks to age 3-9 eggs so hoping that they could be a miracle little brother or sister if I ever get that far!

Lori - Big welcome to you too. You have found a great thread to join. It is rocking already and is certainly going to rev up over the holiday season as we all get started. I am so sorry that you got a BFN. It really does suck. Really hope that the new dr will make all the difference in he world for you

Shantala - Great that they moved things forward for you. There is no way that you should move. I start next Thursday if AF behaves but would not dream of leaving this thread now. I'll still test at earliest on 15th December. Would be so cool if we got to cycle together........ Good on you for giving up the coffee. Headaches will pass. I found that I was sleeping better when I cut out the caffiene so sure that it does do some good for our bodies. I always used to get a coffee on way to the station in the mornings. Now I have to cross the road sooner so I am not tempted to give in. I just stare straight ahead and think about the fact that I am also savings a few quid!!!

Becky - where are you? We must discuss X-Factor tomorrow!!!!

Angie - winter here and still everybody asks me about the water or even worse assumes that I must be the P word. It drives me mad so know exactly what you mean!! Meant to ask you - did you go to the Melbourne Cup? Watched the race on TV and saw all the ladies glammed up. Made me think of you  Hope that your lining is building up nice and snuggly for your little ones to come home. You might be the first lady of the thread - get us off on the right foot!

Mom - So sorry that you are having to deal with all this stress regarding your job. I would point out to them that you are not in a union and you don't want to drag someone in from work and so plan to come with someone for support. Would even turn up with your uncle. What are they going to do? Throw him out. Sorry I cannot be more help to you. Hope that job applications go well. Sure that you'll end up with something better

Bec - Hair colour sounds very cool. Have to dye mine as so grey!! Needs doing every 5 weeks now - at my age!! So do myself to save all the money at the hairdresser. Always go for a dull brown - quite like my natural colour but may be I should take a gamble on a more interesting colour!!!!??? Sounds like you are just right behind me. I don't hide the drugs anymore. If they see them they see them. I dare somebody to ask me what they are.................with the hormones inside me, I might say anything!!

Rachel - so sweet that your dh wants to do the jabs for you. Sometimes I think they are just not sure what to do to help us through the process and seem a bit outside it all. You are a brave lady taking on Xmas dinner for the whole family - or else you must be a really good cook. Wish I was better. We are leaving all plans for Xmas up in the air. Everyone is asking what we are up to and we are just trying to avoid the questions.

Erin - sorry that you had a rough appraisal. Don't let them get you down. Sure that they are putting pressire on you so that you resign and then they get out of maternity pay! They are so shocking. When you get your BFP then you'll be able to stick two fingers up to them!!!

Aunty - hope that AF has now left you alone. Thanks for asking about the count down for me. Trying not to think too much about it. Keeping myself busy and trying to 'use' the time before I start as well as I can to take pressure off myself later. As it is the run up to Xmas we have quite a lot of things in the diary but if I don't feel up to it then I shall just be selfish and pull out if I have too.

Macca - I see that you are under way. You have been quiet but understand that you may be putting your focus on the cycle. Just wanted to say that I am thinking of you and hoping that this will be the one for you.

Emma - any news from your appointment? Hope that all is well

Hugs to everyone else. Hope that you are all going to have great weekends!! Have our nephew to come over tomorrow and sleep over. Sure that will allow us a trip to the local gourmet burger bar - for him, of course!!! For the UK ladies - X Factor tomorrow to look forward too. Wish I knew the theme.

Hoping that AF is going to behave and show on time. No real signs for me as yet. She is pretty regular for me especially since I have been having acupuncture so hopefully if she is late then will only be by a day or two?? A week of normalness to enjoy for me & dh before I become hormonally challenged again!!

Love to you all.

Right, I am going to try and reply more often and less lenghty (yeah, like that's gonna happen!)....

Carolyn - i'm so excited that you can start next thursday. i'm not sure when i'll start as our clinic is quite complicated. i have an appointment with the fertility unit on monday and they will then refer me to the ivf clinic (in the same hospital) where there is no wait to start. and looks like af is coming as i'm feeling it....so maybe, just maybe i'll be able to start next week. having said all that, my AF isnt regular due to being on the contraceptive injection for 5 years, which stopped AF completely, so they might start me off anyway. or give me something to regulate it. oh, who knows!! but as AF is coming, I might start next week too. (i'm being optimistic i know but i think you have to be!!) so maybe we will be cycle buddies!!! :) glad i'm not the only one with headaches and really glad you said they will go! i'm already sleeping deeper although for the last 3 nights (since i've given up coffee but not sure if that's coincidence) i've woken up in night sweats!!! that's probably all the caffeine coming out!! haha :D x factor - woohoo! sorry Us ladies although i did watch american idol last year! i cant wait.

becky - where are you????????

ssalgado - c-section, ouch, ouch. but then you did have all the labour, too! lucky you! i'm so pleased for you though!

short and sweet (sort of)

May I Join in the Wait?

Post by babyblue »

I would like to join in on your IVF wait. I will be starting my 2nd IVF in December with the retrieval and implant in Jan 07. I just need some ladies I can talk to and share questions. My friends don't understand (because they are my age) why I want kids, so I have a hard time sharing my thoughts. We have been ttc for 2 years with one m/c 5/05. Is FET - fertilized egg transfer?

Thank you AuntyPebbles for your warm welcome. I was on a message board back in early June and was used to some of the acronyms but the IVF terms are new.

Vickie, we are starting out at the same time. We have our IVF class/meeting on Dec. 5 also.

JackieG, looks like you are on the same time frame as well. What part of Illinois are you from? My DH is originally from Southern Ill.

Question: I ended my meds on 9/28 after a BFN on the 1st IVF, and the nurse said I should have AF immediately. However, AF was a week later 10/5. I am now on cd 29 and no AF. Before IVF my cd's ran 25-26 days. Is this anything to worry about? Did stims and progesterone mess your cycles up after IVF? :?: I was like clock work before this.

Also, when we met with FE last Friday, he stated we will be trying a different protocol this round. The Flare Protocol - is anyone familiar with this? First IVF was Lupron, then Repronex and 1/2 Lupron, then lots of progestrone and delestrogen. :?: Just curious what the Flare protocol will require? FE did say that the Flare protocol uses your own cycle and it would be shorter.

Ladies

Quick post before bed time

Babyblue - welcome to this fab thread. Totally understand about the friends thing. Think that everyone (including some of my close family) assumes that I am career woman who never wanted kids. It is weird how people make assumptions about you when they don't know the half of it! We shall be the mature ladies on the thread - keeping an eye on all the youngsters! I was a good few days late for the couple of months after my BFN. All the drugs in your system. I have been doing acupuncture which seemed to settle it back even shorter than before the ivf but did take a couple of months to get there. If you are worried then call your clinic to put your mind at rest. That is what they are there for! I did Long Protocol first time around and am on Flare this time. Seems like we are in the same boat. For me it means no down regging. Cuts out 18 days of burselin that I took at the start. Straight to stimmies but from Day 5 I have 2 injections a day. One stimmies as before. But an antagonist that stops us ovulating. Otherwise same as before for EC, ET and afterwards. It took me 7 weeks for the full cycle last time whereas this time I figure it will be more like 4 weeks. Cannot be as bad!!!??? I shall let you know anything else that I discover!

For my UK Pals - X Factor tomorrow is 'Love Songs' which gives quite a wide range so they can really pick what suits them. Been watching ITV2 following Becky's advice to get me in the mood. However, after those comments about me from Becky not sure that I'll listen to you again!!!!!!!!!! (Ha Ha - just joking around!!!)

Pouring with rain in London. I am off to bed with a good book.

Night Night

wow! I go to bed and sleep for the night and come back to all this activity! We are a busy board.

Now entering the hair colouring debate .....Carolyn - I am with you - I dread to think how grey I would be if I let the colour grow out! So the roots are coming through so what should I do? With FET potentially in 2 or 3 weeks I guess I should get it done soon. DOes anyone know about the chemicals they use? - are they safe for us ladies during this process....?

Didn't go the Melbourne Cup - went on the Sat - Derby Day. Cup Day was freezing so glad I didn't - it is such fun to dress and hat up - but there sure was a alot of flesh on show. The males in our crowd had their eyes on stalks..........

We have friends round for dinner tomorrow - I have a devious plan - I am going to drink water out of a beer bottle...ha ha! (although that will seem weird as I usually drink vino). But can't use driving as the excuse when I'm in my own house!!

Good to read you Becky - your posts make me chuckle!

Have fun ladies.

Hi Ladies,

Can I come back again?? I have been away for soo long because I had a sick puppy (11 years old. I know he's not a puppy but he is to me :( )

Wow, I cant belive all the cycles starting. It so exciting!!

Baby Blue, Im from the suburbs of Chicago and yes we will be cycling together. I will have EC on the 8th ish and ET on the 13th ish. Good luck to you. We will keep in touch!!

Auntie, so glad you got AF, So sorry it was so late. Hope she gone or at least leaving :D

Carolyn, wow you are starting stims. It seemed so long ago but its here already. Good luck to you!!

Becky, how are you? The weight thing for me is not going to well. I hope you are doing better than I am. Today was good only because I didnt have a chance to eat until 6pm. I knw thats not healthy but better than eating everything in my house

Shantala, Great job on giving up the coffee!! That is still my downfall. I know I have to stop soon. Its been 5 weeks since I quit smoking and the coffee is the only thing that is keeping me sane. Im gonna have to ween myself off.

I have been away so long I have to do some more reading so I can catch up with all of you and the greet the new ladies :D

Baby dust to all!!

Hugs,
Jackie

Jackie Imagewe missed you its so good to see you...and so close now to starting..im sorry to hear about your puppy how is he?.....thanks for asking my af was fast and full but it only lasted 2 days so wasnt so bad

Angie hair colouring is only bad because when you get pregnant your hair can become very weak and thin out a lot and colouring your hair while its stressed will increase the loss (dont panic it sorts out once baby is born) but it can be worrying, i found a grey hair the other day  (its in the bin(trash) right now shhh)but i went back to my natural blonde so cant see them so much

Becky i agree with carolyn yar cheeky for a welsh lass....(brummie comment)...LOL...oo i like the thought of us all with BFP'S and christmas tree effect but no looking up me dress..... :D

Babyblue i used to be very very regular 26-28 day cycle before IVF its been over a year and im always late from 4-13 days so its normal to not be normal if you know what i mean and hopefuly this will be the last Af you have to worry about for 9 months.... :D

we have a very busy week next week lots of starts and appointments things will really start hotting up...big hug we will soon be on our way

love to all Aunty

Morning Ladies,

Shall i just change my name now to

'Cheeky Welsh Bugger living in Northern Ireland' hehehe, u know im only messing Carolyn & Aunty - and i love ya all really

So heres the plan for today - im off shopping with my 16 yr old daughter Natasha, she needs a prom dress, im looking fwd to going, but i kinda get the feeling we are both after different things lol - her taste is very ermmmmmmmm - how can i put it, rock chick! She has dark hair (Dyed - but we wont go into that lol) she was blonde when she was little  she wants an electri guitar for xmas & is into bands i have never heard of in my life, and cant understand a word they are singing lol - My taste for her would be, pretty pastels with a few sparkley bits - but somehow i cant see that happening lol. What do u think my chances are - rate from 1 - 10 lol.

Then when i get home its feet up in time for X-Factor night - Carolyn did u see all the songs the guys are singing - Ray is doing Queen - crazy little thing called love - swing style (Again!) Leonna is doing Elton John, Sorry seems to be the hardest word (i cant wait for that) Ben is doing Aerosmiths - I dont want to miss a things - The McDoodle Bros (how they still there i dont know!!!) are doing - Robbie Williams She's the one - i bloody hope they dont kill it cos i love that song lol - errrm, i cant remember the rest sorry lol, but if u watched Xtra factor on ITV2 then u'll know wots in store. I wonder if Simon and Louis are talking yet - oooooo!
For all u ladies who dont watch the X-Factor - sorry for boring the pants off u lol.

A big stand up welcome to babyblue <Becky stands up, cheers & claps her hands> you will love it here, u might end up going slightly mad tho, but thats one of our rules

Jackie: Dont mention the 'D' word - im crap at dieting, i really havent got it in me at the moment, its a wonder i lost a stone in the begining to get started, i dont have the omph at the moment, but sounds like im not the only one  Sorry to hear bout ur puppy - how is he now? Mine hasnt been too well either the past few days - he has an eye infection, it looks like its all dry around his eyes and i have to bathe it, but all his eyelashes come off with it  a visit to the vets on Monday hopefully will sort it out for him. He's only 1 and a half, a black n white springer spaniel who gets up to no good, and is very naughty - but u cant help but love him for it hehe.

Angie: Isnt it awful u have to hide the fact that ur not drinking, just to avoid the questions - u will have to act drunk as well now lol, just tell em ur on tablets, and u dont need a drink to enjoy urself - that ur content being with ur friends - watching em get drunk makes u happy enuff (yeah right! lol) Anyway - have a lovely time hun, and dont worry bout the drinking - its up to u what u wanna do, just scream at em and say - ok i was once an alcoholic ok - im trying to cut down - that shud shut em up lol xxx

I think thats about it for now ladies, hugs to everyone i missed <Hugzzzz> im gonna go an put some clothes on  (Dont worry im not starkers, im in my pj's lol) and go and do some serious damage on DH's credit card - woooo hoooooo
Talk to u later lovely ladies - keep smiling :D

Becky Xxxx
