Hya Kate,
I'll be cycling for the third time in a few weeks, but happened to spot your message in the SCB7 board. I noticed that you were already doing blastocysts and it was your first try. I was surprised, cos although I have heard that the success rate was good, it is rarely used until patients are 40 plus. Can you tell me which clinic you are at - it seems really forward thinking.

By the way, tons of luck,

Best wishes Nickyx

Hi Nicky
Unfortunately my answer to your question is not going to help you much. I am in Sydney, Australia. being so inexperienced with the whole IVF thing, I have been really surprised to find out that blastos are so unusual. My clinic uses this method all the time and because this is my first try, it wasn't until I had started that I realised that most other clinics (both here in Australia and it seems from what everyone on the boards says, in the UK as well) do not do blastos in most cases. When I was told how the cycle would work, I did not even know to ask questions about why they use the blasto technology. I have since asked the question and have been told that my clinic believes they get higher success rates using the technology but given what I have read about it on the internet, it sounds as though it has not been very thoroughly tested. I am just crossing my fingers.

I am not sure I have been very helpful. All the best of luck with your cycle.
Love Kate

hi

born hall in cambridge let you go to blast if you have had a couple of failed goes. early on in the year we had went for blast with 7 but they only lasted until day 3. even though we did not get to fet i would do it again as the odd's are so much better 50% chance.my doctor feels that this will be the way forward for ivf.you are only putting back in the ones that have the best chance.

wish you well for your coming tmt.

from july ann
