Colleen- my next OB appt. is Wednesday Nov. 29th (at night). I don't think we'll be having another scan at this appt. we'll only be 12 weeks.

Brit,

Good luck today!

All - I hope everyone is doing well. We had a long weekend! Our Cub Scouts had a Pushmobile Race and placed Fifth in the entire district (about 13-16 teams)! That race took all day Saturday! Then I had to rearrange my entire house because it bothered me. The house is still not finished, but the rooms we did are looking great! We are now almost ready to start re-doing the baby's room! My husband and I have decided to put matching tile in the boys room and the baby's room since the two rooms are connected by a bathroom. We did start picking out the flooring and deciding what to do with the color sceme. The boys want their room done in old cars theme and I am thinking about doing a Peanuts gang theme in the baby's room. Lots to do before the baby gets here! I bought the baby it's first item. I bought it a onesie that had teddy bears on it. It is green so it will be okay to use on both a boy or a girl, but it has made everything seem more real. I hope I am not being optimistic, but I am starting to get excited. In all of my other pregnancies, the bleeding problems started by now or I had already miscarried. I have not had any problems and I have been walking and doing other exercises for about three weeks now. I am starting to relax. For sure, tomorrow afternoon, I will feel even better because we have the ultrasound. They have started weaning me off the progestrone and I have been off the estrace for over a week. My morning sickness is fading quick as they took me off the estrace and lowered the progestrone. I am sorry guys, I am talkative today because I am starting to worry about tomorrow and I am getting excited about being released from the clinic too. Hope all is well.

Rachael- Can't wait to hear about your ultrasound tomorrow... I'm sure everything will be perfect! How exciting about buying your first baby item... I haven't done that yet, but I'm sure it will happen soon enough.

We also had a busy weekend... a girl get together on Friday night, shopping and running errands on Saturday & a Christening on Sunday (my husband & I were the Godparents). What a great feeling.... I can't wait until it's our little one being christened up there.

Well hope all you girls are having a great day...

Hi Everyone,

I hope you and your beanies are doing well. I posted on the awaiting scan thread yesterday but I just thought I will post here also. My first scan was at 5w2d and at the time they saw two sacs. I had my second scan yesterday at 6w6d and they saw one healthy beanie with a good heartbeat. My Dr. said that it is very common for women to concieve with twins then the body just absorbs one for some reason. I am so sad for the one that was lost but thrilled that the other is doing well. I believe that everything happens for a reason so I have faith that all will be as it should. I heard of this happening and how common it is so I knew this could happen and my Dr. told me at my first scan that it was a possibility. I did read on the internet that once you hear a heartbeat the risk of miscarriage goes down considerably so I hope that means my beanie has a great chance. I am still worried for him/her but I am trying to just take it one step at a time and not work myself into a frenzy. Please say a prayer for us.

Rachael - Good luck today. Let us know how it goes as soon as possible. I can not wait to start buying things for my little one and decorating the nursery. My parents said they will buy us the bedroom set so I am looking foward to shopping for that. My last day of estrace was yesterday. I was so excited that I have two less pills to take. They told me that I should stay on the progesterone suppositories until week 13 which is actually Chrismas day. I am concerned because I hear that most people are getting weaned off of them like you but my Dr. said just to stop at that point. I guess I'll ask my OB/GYN when I see him tomorrow.

Coleen - I am so glad your 1st OB appointment went well. That must be such a relief. I understand about the wait, I am so used to going to the Dr once a week that I think a longer wait will drive me crazy but I know that is the way it will happen.

Gina - How is the morning sickness? I hope you are feeling better. Did you try the jelly bean trick?

BecP - How are you feeling? Good luck at your scan today. Let us know how it goes.

I am sorry if I have left anyone out. I hope everyone is well and you are all in my prayers.

Take care,
Nance

Tasha - I am going to a Christening next weekend also and I just keep thinking that the next Christening I will be at after that would be ours. It is so exciting, I can't wait.

I havn't posted in awhile, I've been so busy with the holidays coming up.

sounds like everyone is doing great!!! I have been keeping tabs on all of you guys.

We went yesterday for our second scan and the baby is doing great. The second one that we saw last week has been absorbed and it looks like we'll just be having one. Which is fine with me. I am just so excited to be blessed with one.

I go next week for another scan then he might release me to my regular OB and start weaning me off of the hormones I'm taking.

Good luck to you all and keep posting your updates.

Colleen- No I haven't started working out yet.... just because I have felt like crap the last few days. I'm wondering if my symptoms have increased because I have stopped taking my PIO Shots.... Not only am I nauseous, but I have a headache too.

Well glad to hear everything is going well for you... keep us posted on your progress.

Sounds like everyone is doing so well!

thook- I am glad things are progressing well for you and you don't have to worry so much after the spotting. I experience something a little different after stopping the PIO shots, my symptoms seem to decrease some, but there are days I am nautious and days I am not. Part of being a mommy :-)

buckygal, I hope your scan goes good next week and you can see more ;-)

BecP good luck on your scan!!!! :-)

crasumus, I am glad things are going well for you and baby! :-)

cmoscar and Nance- Remember things happen for a reson. I thught so much about twins cause doc thought by numbers (high numbers even for twins) twins were a strong possibility for us. It may have started off the same way for me but I didn't have a scan till 7w1d, so we will never know. But I know this from my other children, having 1 is much easier to enjoy and relish in the experience. I would think with twins it is a half to get it done and such a demand it would be hard to enjoy the moment. I maybe wrong but that was a fear of mine. :-)

I go in for my OB orientation tomorrow, and hopefully I will find out some type of exam schedule. :-)

Take care all,
Cowgirl

Hi Gals!

Sorry to be MIA...but I've been suffering badly from the dreaded 24 hour sickness (really--who named it morning sickness? That's just wrong!) As for you gals suffering my same plight--my doc recommends carbs and protein--if you can keep it down. I've also heard of the ginger ale trick. Sprite seems to help me too. Today, my doc prescribed a medication for me if it gets too bad to go to work (I don't want to take meds...but teaching 1st graders isn't easy when you're puking...) We'll see how that goes.

One word of advice---DON'T drink OJ if you're feeling bad. HORRIBLE IDEA. Trust me!

We did have our 6 week scan today, and.....it IS TWINS! HOLY COW! While we would have been pleased as punch with one, we are more than happy to have another. Granted, we'll now have to buy double of everything....BUT--good news--both babies have a steady heart beat, so we're thanking God for a double blessing.

Nance--my doc confirmed what you read on the net. He said once you have a heartbeat, the chance of miscarriage goes down to only 2-3%. I'll take that low percentage, right? Of course, I know things can happen, but I hope that helps you feel better.

Tasha--my doc's going to start weaning me off the PIO shots soon...he said that should help morning sickness get better....hope that happens to you soon!

Rachel and Nance, sorry to hear about your 2nd beanies...Cowgirl has a great point. Now you can thoroughly enjoy your healthy baby. Plus, your hubby won't feak about buying 2 of everything!

I wish I had time to respond to all of you....I'm glad to hear you all are doing well. Good luck on your next appointments. I am thinking good thoughts for all of us!

Hi Everyone,

Thank you all for your kind words of support. I have my first OB/GYN appointment this afternoon. I am not sure what to expect but am excited. I can't imagine that they will do another scan yet because I just had one at my RE's office on Monday but you never know.

Kim - Congratulations on the Twins!! You must be thrilled. And hearing two healthy heartbeats must have beenthe most amazing feeling in the world. I am so sorry that you are feeling lousey but I heard that those with twins get morning sickness worse. I read that it is very good to eat a lot of small meals throughout the day (if you can keep it down) so your stomach does not get the chance to get empty and to suck on pepperment candy. I do not know if it actually works but it might be worth a try. Hopefully once you are off your PIO you will feel much better.

Cowgirl - Good luck at your orientation tomorrow. Keep us updated on how it goes.

Tasha - How are you feeling any better?

Colleen - Thank you for the prayers. And yes, I will take as many of them as I can get. I can imagine how scarry the spotting is but I have also heard that some women spot throughout their entire pregnancy and have very healthy babies.

Rachel - I am sorry to hear about your 2nd little beanie. But am so thrilled for you that the other is doing so well. Is'nt it amazing to hear that heartbeat for the first time? I can't wait to hear it again. It makes it feel so real. You are so right that we are so lucky to be blessed with what we have and I thank God everyday for making me so lucky as to have this little beanie.

I can't wait to start telling people but I know it is best to wait until at least 12 weeks. Has anyone else made the annoucement yet? If so how did you do it? I will be 13 weeks on Christmas Day so I was thinking about trying to do something cute as a way to tell the family. Any suggestions?

I hope everyone is well.

All my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Kim- congrats on the TWINS! How amazing.... I'm sure that's why you have been feeling so bad (two little beanies in there are making you sick). Good luck and keep us posted on your little ones.

Nance- Good luck at your OB appointment today. Please let us know how it went as soon as you can.

As for me I'm doing much better today... no sickness, but the day isn't over with yet. Also we have told almost my whole family already. They all knew what we were going through so they kept asking all the time. And if we weren't pregnant I'd already be on my next cycle of IVF... so they all kind of guessed it. However, I'm waiting to tell friends & co-workers until we reach the 12 week mark. This way I know we're past most of our struggles that could occur early on.

Hope you are all having a great day!

Kim - Twins is Awesome! I wish you double the luck since you will need it!

Thook - I am glad to hear you are feeling better. I know the less progestrone I take the better I am feeling!

Nance - As far as letting people know, we are sending copies of the u/s in our chritmas cards. This way they will findout around the 12 week mark and they will also have a pic. I have told a few people, but only close friends.

All - My scan was right on target with a heartbeat of 176. I am happy to see this is going well. I hope everyone is doing just as well.

Good Morning Everyone,

I had my first OB/GYN appointment last night and it went really well. The baby had a strong heartbeat and measured exactly as it should do the day. That was quite a relief. The only thing is that my right ovary is very swollen and has several cysts from the IVF so my Dr. wants me to take it very easy. Pretty much no exercising, sex, bending, lifting etc. So now I am paranoid everytime I bend to put on my socks  that I am twisting my ovary. But I'll take all the inactivity in a second as long as it means a heatlhy baby. Also, I figure this way I can have my husband wait on me and not feel guilty about it. I have to go back in 2 weeks for another scan, blood work etc. I am going to go crazy until then I am sure but we decided to tell the immediate family on Thanksgiving and ask that they do not tell everyone until I am 12 weeks along.

Cmoscar - I am so excited for you that your scan went well. Did they give you a picture to take home with you? When do you have to go back?

thook - I am so glad you are feeling better. That must be such a relief. I hope you continue to feel good.

I better get moving an get to work. I'll check in later.

All my best to everyone.

Take care,
Nance
