On a totally unrelated note, Lola, I checked out your web link the other day on 'phytoestrogens'. Is Flax Seed Oil a phytoestrogen? The web page said that they were related to soy products, so it confused me how the two were related? Help! :D

thanks suzhan, I am hoping that it is because of high P2. That would be so nice. My butt is really feeling and looking beat up now anyway. They did double my prog. pill dosage last tuesday. And they did tell me they would try to get me off the PIOs asap because I was having problems with it. My BBs are still sore and I'm feeling mild AF like things, so that must be a good sign. :)

Suzhan --- I am ready to go my meeting now, I finally figured out what to wear. It took me a while. It takes me a while when I am not pregnant, so you can imagine what it's like now. Luckilly, these long blouses are in style now, so nobody will be able to tell anything.
To answer your question, yes, flax seed contains natural estrogens called phytoestrogens. So whatever you read regarding phytoestrogens is true about flax seed. Also some soy products contain phytoestrogens, even some other foods. But I think soya and flax seed have the highest amout. I think flax seed even more.

Suzhan--

Remember you are paying good money for this so ask your questions and demand your answers. This is too serious to be nice and passive. I fyou are concerned, then ask the doctor not the nurses. If they are a good clinic then they will respond. Also, if nine is your total, that is not bad at all. I think that is a good sign. Too many is not always good and you would have probably wound up with the same number fertilized.

Lola- I was showing from my first week. It is the drugs, hormones, and the swollen overies. It does not go down, the baby just catches up. I also was so tired that I thought something was wrong with me. I even had to post on a different thread if there was something wrong. The responses were ....."welcome to motherhood." So embrace it. The great thing about those symtoms is that it relaxes you of anything being wrong as I always had reminders that I was pregnant and something was growing in me.

The rest of you are almost there, I can feel it.

Sam --- thanks a lot for your input, I thought this was kinda abnormal to be showing a belly this quickly, but now I see it is OK. I am happy I don't work now and can rest whenever I want. And I don't have to figure out what to wear every morning. So you are going to find out the gender pretty soon, ha? What week will that be? The 20th? When did you tell everybody you are pregnant? You are almost half way there, good luck with everything, Sam! Image

Mia --- I am thinking of you. Sorry about the shots, I am on the suppositories, I got used to them and I am glad I don't have to do the shots anymore. Your signs look pretty good to me! You are the NEXT, I just know it !!!! Image

How's everyone today? I'm laying in the bed at home drowning myself in awful daytime television. :?

Hopeful--2 more days left. Your signs look good. I have a bizarre question for you. I noticed that you said boobs are sore. Does your whole boob hurt or just certain areas? Right now for myself my boobs are only sore where the breast meets the rib, but only on the sides. I know that I sore boobs that I have now are to early to equate with a BFP, but wanted to how yours were feeling. Double progesterone shots? Ouch!

Lola-how are you today? When will you tell everyone else that you are pregnant?

Suzhan--I understand your frustration. Being the nut that I am, I would not be satisified with what you were told about a 3 day Friday transfer. As difficult as I know this is--trust that they know what they are doing! I would even speak to the doctor (not nurse) to confirm what she said. Keep us posted on this!

Thanks ladies for your encouragement. I feel a little more hopeful today. I did a bunch of reading on the PG side of the forum and it appears that some women had their PIOs dropped as soon as they got a positive result. Me stopping PIOs may just mean that I have plenty P2 showing in my BT results. My symptoms seem to be a lot milder than before. things seem to have started mellowing out as soon as my PIO dose went from 2cc to 1cc. No shot last night and symptoms have mellowed out even more. So everything I felt may have just been the prog. I'm trying to just stay as in the middle as possible. I'm still kind of expecting bad news. :? But, I'm praying hard and have everything crossed. :)

wannababy, I only really feel soreness when they (ahem) bounce or if I squeeze. pretty much the whole thing is sore. the soreness is really mild now that my prog intake is reduced. as of yesterday I'm just taking pills. I think now it was just from high p2. :?

Mia - I'm soooo glad you're feeling more positive! I think it's very possible that this PIO business is all part of a protocol and there's still a good chance for you. Try to relax (I probably shouldn't even be the one saying that, since I need to practice what I preach!) I think you should get the honor of being our first bfp on the nov'06 ladies thread since you've been such a wonderful host.

Wannababy - good for you - drowning yourself in daytime TV is the one small indulgence you get. 8 and 9-cells are great for 3-day embies, so good job on that....as they say, quality over quantity. How are you feeling? On my first ivf cycle, I convinced DH to get us TIVO....so I'm stocking up by recording lots of TV for my bed rest this time. How many days are you doing on bed rest? I'm glad you've got your pc to stay connected with us

Lola - I don't recall, did you have to do bed rest? If so, how long did you say in bed? My clinic's procedure is 'horizontal' for 2 days after ET day (so about 3 days total). And, thanks for the info on flax seed oil. I guess I'll start back in with it during the 2ww.

Tomorrow I'm back to the RE (745 am - what's wrong with these people don't they know we need our beauty sleep      )

Sam & Wannababy - thanks for the 'pep talk' - I'm definitely going to talk with my doctor about all of this when I see him tomorrow morning. I just hope my E-2/prolactin are good and that my follie count goes back up - I want to find my 2 lost ones :P :P :P

Take care everyone!

OMG! I am in panic mode--I THINK I HAVE SOME TYPE OF VAGINAL INFECTION  I was loaded up on extra antibiotics and think it may have caused something. My area feels real irritated and I had some kind of white discharge (I know TMI)--kinda lumpy. This can't be good. I'm thinking yeast infection. I used some kind of vaginal gel to prevent a yeast infection but maybe it is not that, but certainly something! If this is the case I might as well consider this cycle a BFN! I can't believe this. I just had my transfer yesterday.......

Malinka (Philadelphia) Oct 12 - BFN, next IVF TBD Image

Myhb (New England) Oct 16 – Miscarriage, next IVF TBD Image

Alicia (Yuma, Arizona) Oct 26 BFN, another possible IUI soon Image

Suzhan ---- I was asked to rest for 2 days (not bed rest) and then take it easy after that. I did not ask if the 2 days inluded the day of ET or not. I was in bed here and there, but not all the time, I even had an important fundraising dinner to go to the day after the transfer. So I went to it. I was taking a lot of naps, because of the valium they gave me. It stayed in my system for a while. Hope your appointment goes well tomorrow and I wish you lots of follies! My appointments are early too, and I have to drive in traffic for two hours. That means I have to wake up at 4:30 am each time :x . My next one is on Monday. Just another Beta test.

Wannababy ---- I am tempted to say it every time anyone asks me "How have you been?".... But I don't want to say anything yet. Things can still happen...I think I will wait until the end of the first trimester, which is Jan 15, or at least till Christmas. I hope I won't be showing too much until then. How is your 2ww going?

Mia ---- I tried not to analyze every symptom, but I know it is hard. Everybody is different, so even if you feel like you lost some of the symptoms, don't worry. Women that conceive naturally don't even know that they are pregnant at this point, so they probably don't feel anything either. Sunday is almost here! You are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love and baby dust to you all! Image Lola

Wannababy,

Having a yeast infection is totally normal. I got one too and the doctor told me it is very common. I actually have one now but totally remember getting one during my waiting period. It means nothing. It does not mean you are a negative. You are on lots of meds and a lot is happening to you. Call the doctor for reassurance but do not read too much into it!!!

Thanks, Sam. I'm going to call someone today. I thought that infections interefered with implantation. I guess not with you. That's whyI was freaking out. I only had my transfer 3 days ago. Around what time in your 2ww did you get one? How did you treat it? Your email made me feel so much better. Thanks!
