sperm quality

Post by Kat »

Hi, I'm full of questions today (see post on pg side) but thought I'd put this one here. If DH has poor sperm motility and numbers, and we get a fertilised embryo, does the sperm quality matter after that ie has it done it's job, or if it was better quality sperm is it more likely to implant? I have been surfing the web and found a few dodgy things like "buy this stuff and you will ejaculate like a porn star - cover your partner in sperm!" - not quite what I was looking for!!!
I know zinc is supposed to be good for sperm quality and DH has been taking this with some other vitamins. I think I may well be clutching at straws and am really not trying to blame DH but just want to make sure I/we do everything I can possibly do to make next time a positve. Or is there really nothing we can do? Surely there must be something? Sorry verbal diarrhoea there (better than the other kind)! I want to start now and do everything I can like no caffeine not just when having tmt and maybe if I start now by the time we get to Jan I will be so healthy I'll get a +ve no trouble. Maybe. Like I said, clutching at straws...
Kat xx

Hi Kat

Not sure if this is of any help but DH has been taking Zinc for a few weeks and his most recent sample was normal!!
All of the samples before were borderline so Zinc appears to have done it's stuff. Nothing else has changed so it must be the Zinc!

Hope this helps

Love Lorraine G
